Everyday, first thing in the morning after I pee. :)

I've started working out before work. I'm just too tired after spending the day teaching fifth graders. I get up at 5:45 and spend time on the treadmill. Then I hop back into bed in front of a fan for a bit before showering and heading off to school.

I choose to not eat my exercise calories. If I'm working hard to burn them, I don't want to eat them back. My doctor and dietician are completely supportive of NOT eating exercise calories.

I have PCOS and have lost significant weight on a 1,200 calorie diet. I also reduced my carb intake to around 100g a day. My insulin levels have greatly improved. I don't exercise as much as I'd like, but the weight is coming off.

I interpreted the OP as being sad that people struggle and are unable to seek help. I didn't interpret a sense of superiority, rather empathy.

From the end of May until now, so exactly 3 months, I dropped from 260 to 217.

Sometimes reflux is due to a hiatal hernia, which is repaired at the time of weight loss surgery. In this case, reflex is reduced after VSG.

I was bulimic for many, many years. Now that I'm logging on MFP, I feel some of those obsessive thoughts trying to creep in from time to time. I'm open with my doctor about it. I discuss it with my family. Being transparent has been the best thing for me.

Yep, bread has a higher glycemic index than cake. It's true. It's not just about calories. Higher GI foods spike blood glucose.

Hope you're doing well!

I had already met my 6 month supervised diet requirement in May when I officially started this journey. My PCP and I had already been monitoring weight and diet for a year. I'm still waiting for my PCP's office to submit all the correct records to the bariatric office for forwarding to insurance. I've been delayed three…

You could be getting woo's because of your misuse of complex and simple carbs. Complex carbs are starches. They include refined carbs like white bread and white rice. Simple carbs are sugars. They include "good carbs" like apples and raspberries. Terminology is important, and many web sites get "simple" and "complex" carbs…

When we are thinking about our entire healthy being, all carbs are not equal. Sources of carbs absolutely matter. The FDA recommends you limit your intake of simple carbohydrates such as refined grains and sugar, which people often refer to as "bad carbs." Further, we are encouraged to increase complex carbs with fiber.…

I can't stop laughing because this is EXACTLY what happens!

I also have PCOS and have taken Alli. I "leaked" orange oil while visiting friends, at work, on my mom's furniture, and that wasn't while eating much fat. I wouldn't take it!!! I was put on Metformin for my PCOS and it helped considerably! I know this board is all about CICO, but in the case of PCOS, especially if you have…

Love this!

Working with my doctor and dietician, I focus first on no more than 1,200 calories daily (and they do not recommend eating my exercise calories, but I know folks on this board disagree). Then I focus on at least 35% protein, no more than 35% carbs (as I have insulin resistance) and no more than 30% fat. Calories for weight…

Wow! You and I are the same height, and at 173, I'm a size 14 pants. Even at 135, I'm a size 8. I don't think my bones can wear a size 4/6. I'm just jealous! ;) You'll get there. You've logged back in and know what to do.

My daughter had an infusion and it made a world of difference.

I feel your pain. ;)

My new treadmill arrived today. I power walked for 26 minutes and jogged for 4 minutes. I know it's not much, but it was a victory for me. Oh, I crossed my legs last week, too!

Here is a 40 pound difference. I am still waiting for my doctor's office to submit everything for approval, so this is still pre-surgery. The pic on the right was on vacation a couple of weeks ago, so I'm down a few more pounds now. Bye bye double chin! .

As long as your calories in is less than calories burned, you can really eat anything you want. Veggies aren't necessary for weight loss.

My blood work came back showing insulin resistance. I couldn't believe I ate my way into this! I've lost 15% of my body weight since May.

I used to sleep on a wedge pillow and take Prilosec. Now that I've lowered my fat intake, stopped eating before bedtime, and lost weight, I don't have any trouble with GERD at all. Lots of people can control it with diet. Best of luck.

As my family has shifted to a healthier diet, including more (and varied) fresh fruits and vegetables, leaner cuts of meat, whole grains, fewer processed foods, etc., our grocery spending increased quite a bit.
