Cherilyn, do you ever use Tofurky products? The ground round is amazing, just like ground beef. You can use it in shepherds pie, chili, etc.

I've been using the food scale but obviously need to tighten it up more as far as logging choosing the correct entires. Thanks for the suggestions community.

Hi Noah, good point.. wanted more others perspective. I started at 250 and I'm down to 218, I started June 2nd. I was losing 2-3 pounds up until about 3 weeks ago, it's since been about a lb. Thanks Aeloine, I will check out that thread!

I get that feeling too, of not wanting to waste. Especially when it's something delicious, sadly... I wonder if I actually feel bad about wasting or regret over what is being wasted.. you really perfectly summed up all the feelings of that moment. Congrats on getting to 201 and keeping up with logging. Xo

Blue Menu in Canada has some really great low calorie treats (and everything really, from Jam to Spaghetti Sauce), I'm in love with the Chocolate Smoothie Bars, hits my sweet tooth and relatively guilt free.

I don't think there is a fair or right answer here, it's just the way it is. As an obese person I don't even take offence to it, it just wouldn't make sense and safety wise you can't always accommodate every body type.

Come here.. lots. There is plenty of encouragement and most of us are facing the exact same challenges. Counting calories does work, I think the jury is still out on eggs... :) and there is nothing funny about weighing your food. We're here for you.

Great ideas everyone. Preparing and cutting beforehand was definitely a must, I'll bring a cast iron skillet next time rather than cooking all over the grate with pans and foil.

What was the wake up call if I may ask? You might want to calculate through MFP what you should be at Calorie wise. If nothing else, get back to 1200 at least and slowly add say 100 calories per week until you are at maintenance.

I know what you are trying to say OP. I see many many comments from people, usually in response to a newbie poster who doesn't fully understand CICO where they will state it doesn't matter what you eat as long as it's calories in and calories out... then a newbie will say, well what if I eat ice cream all day as my calorie…

Your father is what I call a toxic person. I know you love him but if I were you I would just cut him out. Maybe he thinks his intentions are good but what he's doing is hurtful and accomplishes exactly the opposite. I have cut close family members out of my life, it's not easy but boy did my life improve. I wish you luck…
