Custom made supports inserts for my shoes. They are absolutely worth it! Also, if you are actively losing weight you need to go back every six months or so. Good news, at 300lbs I needed then to keep the pain away just walking. Now that I am down to 180lbs, I no longer need them.

Mom of a soon to be 16yr old girl. Encourage, but do not force physical activity. "Why don't you go to the park with your friends, it's a beautiful day out". When you talk about food use health as a meter, not fat or calories. Why should they eat more vegetables: because it's healthy, that's it! Not because of calories or…

I would not recommend using a Smith machine for squats, for things such as standing calf raises they are great. Use dumbbells while you can or ask for a spotter when using the barbell for squats. Also, as I did last year, sometimes you just out grow a gym and need a better one. If your gym is a chain, see if different ones…

I log all my dedication cardio. (The 2 minutes to and from the mailbox is not cardio). I also log cleaning when it's outside of my normal day to day activities, such as spending an hour cleaning out the garage once every few months. When I pull out my fridge and stove to clean under and behind them. Because they are not my…

There is an app: FitMenCook that I have used to help with meal preps.

ExLax will have the same effect, and is much cheaper. Same with an enima. Save you're money, your body naturally cleanses your colon on a regular basis.

Hi! I am willing to adopt you, just FR me. My quick bio is above.

Etiquette is different from culture to culture. Some see bringing food as an insult, and some see not bringing food as an insult. My solution: "Do you want me to bring anything?".. If the answer is no, wine it is, if non drinkers flowers.

Ordering a BLT. Me "A BLT please"

1200 calories a day can be really difficult. The last time I did that, was only because I was sick and didn't feel like eating. Set your rate a bit slower, you'll feel better in the long run.

If she did her first "leg day" weight lifting workout, the next two days can be absolutely brutal. After a year of doing repeated leg day workouts, I still walk funny the next day no matter how much I stretch before and after a workout.
-
Move, seriously - it's helps in recovery, a slow walk. Massage the muscles (foam roller, by hand, an orbital car buffer - yep!), Ice will help ease the pain as well. Gentle stretching, just to the point where you feel the stretch. 10 to 1, it's your legs. Post leg day DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) can be brutal. If…

Glyphosate: an ingredient in many weed killer and it's used extensively on commercial farms. It's a carniogen, and banned a lot of countries, but not here - because it helps make for larger crop yeilds. So if you eat fruit of vegetables that are grown commercially, guess what you're also eating. Oh yeah, it permeates…

Making sure your legs stay crossed in a skirt because you no longer have thighs to block a view up your skirt. When you forget that you're shrinking and decide to wear a shirt you own because it's really cute! But now if you lean over, because it's loose, cleavages everywhere!!!

"Apple" flavored meal drink when I was hospitalized after an accident. That was NOT apple flavored, not even moldy rotton apples would taste that bad. "Banana" was even worse.. ugh

Rest, let your body heal. My "I'm sick" diet is mainly chicken & vegetable soup, oatmeal with some dried fruit, & tea with a touch of honey if my throat hurts. I stop caring about calories, marcros, micros, my body needs to just get better.

I was being a smart *kitten* in my reply as well. I'm working on becoming a bodybuilder, or at least look like one if I just can't quite make competition. I hate cardio as well. Congratulations for your amazing achievement: going from obese to an amazingly awesome physique!!!

She would eat all the CocoaPuffs and put the empty box back in the cupboard.
-
Yep. CocoaPuffs have 100 calories per 22g serving. Frosted Mini Wheats have 210 per 55g gram serving. Doing the math (100/22 * 55). CocoaPuffs have 203 calories for 55g vs 210 in the "healthy" cereal. I bring a small calculator with me grocery shopping for checking this kind of stuff. Some of it is really surprising!!! A…

I have a VitaMix (love it!!!), And a BreVille immersion blender. When making a quick smoothie or protien shake for myself, the immersion ones are amazing, and easier to clean.

When I was pregnant, Sprite & Saltines were the only things for the first 3 months that I could really hold down. It's a really slippery slope to ban foods, even if there's no appearent health benefit. What's next? Candy, any diabetic can tell you how important a jolly rancher or a few gummy bears can be at certain times.…

1. Unless you are legitimately allergic or sensitive to a food: there are no bad foods. 2. If you carefully read package information, a lot of "healthy" bars are worse for you than a candy bar. That said: some healthy snack options 1. Almonds (1oz is about 20 almonds) 2. Veggies (carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers) 3. "100…

Overheard while grocery shopping: "Why does the gallon of milk cost so much more than the half gallon, milk is milk.". By an adult.

A smile and quick nod. Say nothing. If she smiles back, then say hi. Also, just like gym etiquette says to never bother people mid set, the same goes for running/jogging. If someone is working out, let them finish thier workout.
-
Unless you have really small feet: men's socks. They'll be a bit roomier and not as constricting around the arch.
-
I saw a vein on my arm while doing my chest workout last night. First time ever, I nearly dropped the weights when I saw it.
-
All I was saying is that rest day isn't an excuse to not workout, it is part of the workout. So technically, it doesn't count as a reason/excuse to not workout.
-
Rest day IS part of the program. The longer you've been working out, the more will power it takes to NOT go workout.
-
Or when your body decides that your boobs are going to be the first place you lose fat... seriously, not the thighs or belly!

I'd love to be a mentor. A little background: I'm 41 and live in West Texas. Was overweight, then obese, then morbidly obese by the time I was 33. At 37 I hit rock bottom, I tried ever "diet" and gimmick out there. Then one day, I just got sick & tired of being sick & tired. I am down to about 180lbs and still going. It's…
