Vodka mixed with crystal light, my favorite flavor is cherry pomegranate

There are other apps that do a similar thing! I use Libra which is available for Android.

Speaking of Chobani... Tried this one today, and I like it. I like everything by Chobani! I used to email them every month, and they'd send coupons every time.

Payless (kroger) does the same thing. Usually they are new-ish items, around the cost of a dollar or two. This week it was a lindor chocolate stick, last week an individual bag of Doritos.

Hey, you can do this! I budget $200 a month for two adults currently, and at one time I budgeted almost half of that, when times were really tough. One thing that helps a lot is if you aren't afraid of eating the same thing every day. For example I eat oatmeal (purchased in the big tub) with 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter,…

I've never tried those noodles, but I've cooked with hearts of palm. They're pretty tasteless and soak up whatever flavor you put with them. And very low calorie. I'd definitely try those noodles if I found them.

Pecan Cereal sounded like a good flavor, but it disappointed. Not much pecan or cereal flavor. Too artificial and "low-calorie" tasting, even though it's 130 calories.

I got a box free under a promotion a couple months ago. I won't buy them again. They are fine, but I don't really like the filling, and they don't really taste like donuts to me. Half the box is still in my freezer uneaten.

@steph_is_happy I totally agree with you, thanks for the input :)

I think these are new-ish (as of the end of last year). These vegan "greek yogurts" were on clearance at my grocery store. Disgusting. Not sure if it's the pea protein or the flavoring. I hate to waste food (and money) but I threw half of it out. SO glad that I only bought one!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with peanut butter and flaxseed. COFFEE Lunch: Leftover quinoa cooked with mushrooms, a peach, blueberry yogurt, asparagus Dinner: Lentils and rice baked with bell peppers, green onions, peas, and cheddar cheese Snacks: A starbucks frapp, probably some chocolate

Oh cool! I used to do those with dumbbells. Maybe try that? I think I got up to 30 or 40 pounds (in each hand). I think dumbbells are underrated - you have to use a lot of extra muscle to keep everything stable

Lately I've just boiled the leaves for a few mins then tossed in butter. Surprisingly tasty.

Good for you both!! I'm a beginner myself - so take my advice with a grain of salt. But I'll get the ball rolling. For squats, I think your husband needs to go a little deeper. My understanding is that you should *just* break parallel (your thighs with the ground). Also, I've heard that a Smith Machine is not a great…

Thanks everyone! :)

I recently got a box of special k pastry bars. I'm not usually a fan of special K, but these were tasty. 100 calories, and reminded me of poptarts. There are some yogurts right around 100 calories. I prefer mine to have at least 10 grams of protein.

I've done both... It depends on your personal preference, and if you're losing the amount of weight that you expect. When I was eating only 1400 calories per day oh yes for sure I ate those exercise calories back! I was hungry! Now, at maintenance, I don't. I'm trying to find the number of calories that already takes into…

Agreed 100%! On this note - I absolutely love my local food bank and food pantry. They allow customers to come every single day that they are open. They offer cooking classes, home improvements, budgeting, etc, all for free and open to anyone in the community. They also offer a "rewards" system: if you attend classes, sign…

I know you already said you don't want to do dumbbells, but I personally decided to start there. I was very worried about my squatting form (and overall weakness), and wanted to start smaller. I read the starting strength book, that's the program I'm doing now. It's a great book! I watched a lot of youtube videos (Alan…

I used the "Olympic weight room" at my gym this week! Female, new to weight-lifting, very intimidated by this spot in the gym where I'm supposed to do deadlifts....and I DID IT!!

Breakfast: iced coffee mixed with milk and cookies and cream protein powder Lunch: leftover chili, cornbread, orange cream yogurt Dinner: Veggie burger on wheat bread, cranberry/broccoli salad with poppyseed dressing. Snacks: A moon pie! Never had one before, pretty legit. Powdered donut holes. Maybe some fruit tonight

Lots of good ideas here which I use weekly! Here's another one for you that I made last night. Vegetarian chili: 2 cans beans, 1 14oz can diced tomatoes, 8 oz tomato sauce, 1 can of beer, 2 T chili seasoning. Add water to thin out. (The beer adds surprising deep flavor, but you can use broth instead). This is around $5 for…

Height: 5'7" Feb start weight: 145.5 2/8: 144.5 2/15: 144.1 I had a very big NSV this week. I've been aiming to switch to the "Starting Strength" weight lifting program. I started getting familiar with the equipment little by little, had a few setbacks... and the one final thing that was intimidating me was the "olympic…

I've added dry "tvp". Lentils would also be good.

This seems like an awesome strategy. Because then you get to eat yummy foods AND learn proper portions. Sounds like a recipe for eating well for life. As for budget foods - here are some of my favs: pasta with homemade tomato sauce (big jar of canned tomatoes plus spices) Breakfast for dinner (pancakes, French toast,…
