Although it looks like I've lost a pound this week, my trending app has shown a trend of gaining for more days then not lately. I've been trying really hard not to freak out about that! Seeing what I wrote here a week ago is really helpful - I wanted to take it slow anyway. Height - 5'7" SW: 147.6 November Goal: 146 Nov 1:…

The best thing to do is to enter your stats, and a goal of 1 pound per week. The app will tell you how many calories to eat. Log everything you eat as accurately as possible, and eat the number of calories you're given. You don't have to eat any special foods or cut "bad" foods. Eat what you like, just less - especially at…

OP, thanks for this thread. I decided to try Rutabaga this week for the very first time because of it! I braised it on the stove-top. Delicious! My husband on the other hand said it was too spicy (I didn't add anything spicy to it) ... :D

5'7" 9/11: 151.0 9/18: 150.0 9/25: 150.4 10/2: 150.4 10/10: 148.8 10/16: 147.6 10/23: 147.4 10/30: 145.8 11/6: 147.6 GW: 145.0 Welp. This week has been a rollercoaster for my weight. Just reminding myself that weight loss is not linear, gotta keep at it! Congrats on your success @MicheleStitches !

@mrssunshine78 I'm so sorry. What a tough day. :'(

:( You never know what food people have access to (I'm thinking especially of people with financial hardship or located in food deserts) ...some times we gotta make it work with what we have

I looked for this post yesterday! Breakfast: black coffee, oatmeal with peanut butter Lunch: chickpeas cooked with onions and tomatoes, rice, cottage cheese and celery Dinner: Tofu stir fried with frozen veggies, spinach salad, an orange Snacks: probably plenty of Halloween candy

Hi everyone, I've been eyeing your accountability groups for the past couple of months. It seems like you all are a very supportive group! I don't have a very big (weight-loss) goal for this month. I feel that I've been losing weight too quickly, so I've recently started eating more, and trying to find a comfortable number…

There's a book I recently heard about: First bites: how we learn to eat by Bee Wilson. I haven't read it myself, but I heard her talk about her research into changing food preferences in children and adults. I believe she gives actual techniques to try. Might also be interesting to parents of small children.

OP, I have (almost) the exact set you posted. I do love the glass, because everything feels very clean. They are kind of heavy for lunches, and I have had minor spills when transporting. The big ones are too big for salads in my opinion... Sadly I recently lost one of my orange ones, and my dark blue lid tore ages ago. So…

Welcome to everyone new to the group! This week the scale was telling me crazy low numbers. I've started a new medication, so perhaps it is affecting how much water I retain. I've also continued on with the strength training, but I'm doubtful that would have much impact on my weight. I'm taking this week's weight with a…

Love it! 1) I got an amazing parking spot at school! 2) Leftover burrito for lunch (from a FREE dinner last night) 3) The sun is out

I totally feel you! Is your depression under control right now? It sounds like maybe this medication is new, and you and your doctors haven't totally figured it out yet. It can be a long frustrating process, but I'm glad you're focused on your mental health. If it's not completely sorted out, that's OK and it means you…

Breakfast: I really wanted to just share this meal with you all. I made something that I would normally call a "smoothie": milk, frozen strawberries, protein powder if you want, etc. But I added 1 tsp of vegetable oil, which sounds weird, but I read that it gives drinks a "milkshake" texture....and it was so good!! Totally…

I'm on a budget of $150/month for my family of 2 adults. (Not including any non-food items). I don't think we eat terribly unhealthy, but it's not what I would choose to do in a better situation. We don't eat as many fruits/vegs as I would like, but frozen/canned things help a lot. I live in the midwest. I can buy a loaf…

Thank you all! I feel a lot less discouraged, I'm going to keep at it and hopefully progress

5'7" SW (9/11): 151.0 9/18: 150.0 9/25: 150.4 10/2: 150.4 10/10: 148.8 10/16: 147.6 GW: 145.0 Accomplished this week: made cookies and only ate 2 of them. Also lifted weights for the first time. That's been a long time desire of mine!

I had to look up TRX, that looks very helpful. Thank you both for the suggestion.

@lorrpb Thanks for the advice. I will try wall squats, that's a good idea.

Don't beat yourself up! "a kit kat, some chips, and popcorn" sound like normal snacks to me. Even if you went over your calorie goal for the day, I bet you weren't over your maintenance calories, so no harm done! You've got this :)
-
I have not done anything of the sort, but good for you for this awesome athletic feat! You didn't mention your height, so I'm not sure how 145 is for a weight for you. But to me it seems you should focus on weight lifting. If you haven't done heavy lifting you'll probably lose a little weight, but more importantly you'll…

I am a day late because I was traveling for the last 4 days. I was nervous but excited to weigh in this morning, because I worked hard on keeping my deficit. My hard work paid off! Some of this loss I believe is water or hormonal from the past couple of weeks. 5'7" SW (9/11): 151.0 9/18: 150.0 9/25: 150.4 10/2: 150.4…

I believe that the majority of your effort in losing weight should come from what you're eating! "Abs are made in the kitchen!" :D OP, I'm sorry for what you're going through. Are you currently getting mental health treatment of any kind? I have struggled with "bursting into tears" with various activities in life myself,…

I had a very unusually low snacking day! Only 1 halloween sized Reese's pieces for 100 calories
-
@MicheleStitches Thank you for the encouragement! I'm continuing to stick to my plan, yes! Hopefully the scale will catch up with all my good effort next week :)

5'7" SW (9/11): 151.0 9/18: 150.0 9/25: 150.4 10/2: 150.4 GW: 145.0 UGH. I am frustrated this week! The scale said something lower yesterday, but I'm going to be honest for myself and write down the number I got today. I'm not sure if I've over-eaten this week or if this is water or hormonal or what. To be honest, this is…

I agree with everyone who is saying just eat white rice if that's what you like, no foods are "bad". I've always liked brown rice BUT recently I tried "instant" brown rice (like minute rice or something) and that was disgusting! So that's something to think about.

Fun! Breakfast: 1/2 cup skim milk with chocolate protein powder, blended Lunch: 1/2 of of "shrimp wrap with bourbon peanut sauce" (leftover from dinner out last night), plus an apple Snack: one very small brownie and tiny pack of chocolate covered pretzels Dinner will be: whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, roasted…

Often times college campuses have nutritionists or dietitians that help students and faculty. At my college they would provide nutrition information on the meals and help you pick out which foods to eat. Check if your campus has something like that, it could be very helpful if it exists!
