  • When dieting I fast by not eating breakfast and not eating after 8pm. This makes my eating window 12:00-20:00 so it's 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating a day. I feel it helps me keep within my daily goals.

  • Well it has been show in studies that protein is more satiating but I guess in some cases it might not be true. Doesn't hurt to try though.
  • Icing
  • Don't think I have ever had it. Seems like a typical American thing... I can't even imagine what a peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes like.
  • It's not really proven that there is such a thing as a post-exercise anabolic window but it's not disproven either. If you believe there is then you should try to eat something or dring a shake as soon as possible after the workout. If not then it doesn't matter when you take your protein.

  • Says it's unavailable for me =(
  • Not much you can do about it. The calorie amount that is specified on any product can be pretty inaccurate as well. Just do as best you can and don't worry to much about it. If you consider that the calculation for how much you can eat is also an average that might not match reality that well you realise it's all just to…

  • I wouldnt call it a cheat day but I try to have one day a week that I eat a bit more to try to refill my glycogen. I have no idea if it works lite that tho :)

  • Ok well I did not think he meant to switch out all carbs. To shift some carbs to protein so that he reaches the x2 body weight mark is not a bad idea tho. If OP is eating 1200 kcal as stated then calorie intake can't really be to high.

  • Nothing fancy. I just do scrambled eggs with onions, tomatoes + salt & pepper and then some vegetables on the side.

  • I guess it depends on where you live. I use Star Nutrition and they have a large selection of flavours to select from so you are bound to find some you like. All their different chocolate flavours are great.
  • This! Switching out some carbs for more protein will help you stay satiated for longer and will reduce your cravings over time. Or you can just plan ahead and make sure you have room for some snacks in your daily calories
  • Well done. You look great.
  • Of course but assuming the same amount of calories it has been show in studies that high protein is more beneficial. A intake of 2x-3x of body weight will allow for a greater muscle mass retention but it should be coupled with resistance training as you say.

  • Not completely as high protein intake has been known to help with regulation of body weight and muscle mass retention.

  • Get some comfy socks
  • Can't argue with that. Don't think alot of people burn 3000 calories, not counting exercise, without being very fit or very overweight tho.
  • 1-2 lbs or 0,5-1 kg is considered healthy and faster weight loss has been shown to give greater weight loss and more health improvement. Over 1 kg per week gives increased risk for gallstones. "What is known? (i) Faster weight loss is associated with greater overall weight loss than slower weight loss. (ii) Weight loss of…
  • If you mean fast like fasting then no one was talking about that. If you mean fast like loosing quickly then 1 kg per week is fine.
  • Yeah well I guess I am guilty of not assuming everyone that posts here has a eating disorder. I have been doing this for years when I feel I need to slim down and I have had no adverse effects so far. Anyway here is a link about the muscle mass while at a calorie deficit:…
  • That I don't. Thats why I said to listen to your body. If you feel anything but fine you should stop. There is no way you get to that point without feeling like *kitten*. But to be honest if you have those kind of problems you should not be on here asking for advice at all but talking to a doctor.
  • 1000-1200 calories is not counting exercise as I said before but it is even possible to gain muscle mass doing this and still loose weight if you have fat to burn. It has been shown to work in studies and I have had those results myself as well. Im gonna guess you have never tried it for yourself. I agree it's better for…
  • Yeah I don't suggest that you should eat like that for an extended period of time but OP wanted to loose quickly and that will do it. Eating high amounts of protein, like 2x body weight, and doing some weight training will prevent significant loss of muscle mass.
  • This is the message MFP gives you when eating too little. "For safe weight loss, the National Institutes of Health recommends no less than 1000-1200 calories for women and 1200-1500 calories for men." I think the most important thing is to let your body tell you what works not some person on the internet. If you feel good…
  • I'm not starving myself at all. I am content at that level, I don't feel completely stuffed after a meal but I never feel hungry either. First day or two I feel a craving for sugar but that goes away pretty quickly. To each his own of course but OP wanted to loose as quickly as possible and for a woman 1000-1200 kcal is…
  • I usually go for 1000-1200 kcal when I am trying to loose quickly. Some say that it's too low but it works for me. I get impatient when I don't see results and a low intake like that starts to show pretty fast.
