Since February?? Amazing!!

Don't give up!! Sometimes the answer is right in front of you. Often when things seem stressful and murky, the key is not within drilling down into "the numbers"....it's within your state of mind. Stress itself changes the way that your body utilizes calories....possibly you can make room for yourself to feel less stressed…

on a weekly/monthly basis- also year over year :( It's like it just gets harder every year

Thank you- I think it sounds like really good idea

OK I will! Thank you :)

Sounds like a good idea- Thank you!

Thank you so much!!

I totally agree with you and I appreciate your comments. It's just not as simple as "stop being stressed out and start behaving more sustainably". It's a big change and it requires alot of thought- for me anyway lol

I have wondered about exactly what you describe, a "self feeding cycle"... so...between 2009-2011 I lost my business ( and everything else really- my home, investment properties, my relationship, pets, health ). It was a really prolonged period of intense stress. I ended up having alot of weird physical symptoms, and then…

Your comment "gives my muscles something to think about" , you know that's interesting because the older I get, the more I can begin to see how thought process manifests within the body. I tend to be an "overthinker" and I really enjoy resistance training too. It requires a very different mindset than repetitive, medium…

Ok ladies ..and gentlemen, I want everyone who has been awesome enough to have contributed or commented within this thread to know- that even though my comments might not have seemed welcoming, I have been listening and thinking about your input. What I've been hearing over and over is that I need to slow down and chill…

Thanks for the info!

I really appreciate your comments, I will respond as soon as I have more time to do so.

I appreciate that you have taken time to read through the thread, but allow me to offer my comments below: Firstly, the title of the thread you and everyone else is commenting within begins with "Weird Symptoms". My original post described symptoms which happen to occur within my body during a calorie deficit. I wasn't…

I'm doing a cleanse right now, so I can't eat anything like pizza, etc, but I think you have a point worth implementing later.
-
Thank you for your comments. I actually have previously, for about a 6 month continuous period of time- but not on this site.

Excellent points! And thank you. I do hike! It's one of my favorite things, but I don't do it enough. I live very close to a large lake and also walk next to the water regularly- it's grassy/uneven and I try to keep a strong pace. I end up sweating pretty good. You're right about injuries....when you're in your 40's and…

How do I "open my food diary"?

I'm really trying to understand what you're saying. I know that there is some wisdom in what you've written, simply because I keep injuring myself at the gym- over and over. And then I lose all of my progress... I don't know how to manage the "boredom" tho- I think that I need to connect with doing something I really,…

I'm curious, how do you know that your maintenance calories - "before exercise"- are exactly 2600-2700? Is that something that you have calculated from experience ( measuring your caloric intake / body mass over time), or is that something I could get from a generic "calculator".
-
I'm quite sure that stress in general might have something to do with it... And you're absolutely right in your last two sentences.... I just find it really boring, like drudgery. I too, am a "project" focused person. I really get into the cycles of starting a project, conquering the challenge, and then feeling rewarded at…

1). Thank you everyone for your responses, and your desire to help- ( and to have more info!!) I explained previously within this thread, that I had consumed 1200 calories yesterday when I created the post. (And for those of you curious- I weigh and measure my food. I know how many calories I consumed yesterday, and any…

That's a good point.

So..... in 2014-2015, I did a really strict diet ( similar to Paleo) for six consecutive months and worked out 6 times a week. I tracked all of my behaviors/ how I felt- and everything I ate and the calories in a spreadsheet. I had the symptoms- in one form or another- every single day during that period. I was averaging…

it's 8:00 pm here- I just ate some peanuts, so I'm over 1200 calories now. The things is that I experience these symptoms on a regular basis....and I'm GAINING weight. That is why I'm pushing so hard to restrict calories.
-
Today I have had quinoa, broccoli, a potato, and 7 oz of lean pork...
-
So.. someone who is 283 pounds and lightly active ( at this point), needs 2760 calories for maintenance. You definitely have a point. However, I have a feeling that I would steadily pack on weight at anything close to that.
-
Thank you. I'm eating some peanuts now.
-
Thank you. I understand what you're saying. Possibly I'm just being clumsy about the whole thing. I am eating a whole food diet right now, which has alot of vegetables/quinoa ( and alot of fiber). I feel horrible, but food doesn't even sound good- I'm actually kind of bloated right now ( from all of the water/fiber I would…

I would guess that I am down about 1,000 cal today. The weird thing is- I have eaten so much high fiber food today, that food doesn't even sound appetizing.
