Yes, but using the internet opens up the question to a greater amount of people from different areas. By using a fitness forum, it helps to narrow the pool to those who have expressed interest in health/fitness. In my opinion, it's smart to use the internet. Even if OP doesn't get what she is looking for, she had to do…

Ooh, I've had that one before. Worth the calories. But yes to the above. I'm sure the fat content in the cake is quite high. That's why it's so soft and creamy.

I used to work in the restaurant business. What to Trust meat alcohol Both of these are very expensive for a restaurant and they will track these both very closely. So that 6oz steak is definitely 6oz, and the glass of wine is definitely a 4oz pour. What to Semi-Trist cheese- expensive, but not as much as meat. It is also…

I agree. If you're substituting in PB2, a separate fat source should be added since the regular peanut butter is likely replacing a fat like butter or oil. Also, PB2 is good, but it really isn't peanut butter. If you eat it and expect peanut butter, then you'll be disappointed. But, if you go into it thinking PB2 is a new…

I get the Pumpkin at Target.

Whenever someone gets really pushy about food that I don't want I tell them, "I just brushed my teeth so it'll just taste like mint, ew. I'll grab some later when the flavor is gone. " Never had a problem with that one.

That's kind of the point. For me, Bud Lite is a day beer or a "between drinks" beer. It keeps me just buzzed enough without sending me into a blackout. I can drink 6 Buds through out the day. But 6 double IPAs would have me not feeling too good. I can't do shiritaki noodles. I tried them once and actually threw up. So…

We used to make tofu tacos. Very easy! First, chop your tofu into small cubes/pieces. Put the tofu in a bag with some water, olive oil and a packet of taco seasoning. Let it marinate for an hour. Heat up a saucepan, and add a little olive oil, diced onion, diced green pepper and stewed tomato. When the peppers and onions…

What about liquids like Sprite or Gatorade? If you are prone to blood sugar dips, ask if you're allowed a liquid with some simple sugar. Or glucose tablets? If not, then eat a good, balanced meal the night before but don't go overboard. You don't want to wake up feeling sick from eating too much. Personally, I'd do a 4oz…

I appreciate the responses! Thank you for taking the time to explain the reasoning and I can see how this be implemented into training routines. I'm going to start using it for mine as I'm starting to shoot for higher reps than I was pulling before. Just for fun, I put my most recent rep PR into the formula and I think…

I'm not an expert here, so bear with me... I should have been more clear. I understand that it has an impact on planning, but is there a downside to using one's current 1RM that they have actually achieved? That's what I meant in my post. Why use a calculated number instead of a true value? I'm also genuinely curious…

In my opinion, your 1 rep max is the max you have actually lifted for 1 rep. If you haven't accomplished it, you can't own it.

My lunch box today consisted of - 1/2 peanut butter and jelly sandwich (bread 100 cals, peanut butter 100 cals, jelly 30 cals) 4 oz cold grilled chicken, cut into pieces (150 cals) 2 turkey meatballs (100 cals) 2 hard boiled eggs (140 cals) 2 beef jerky sticks (160 cals each) 100 calorie pack of almonds (100 cals) protein…

Meat! I'm a huge carnivore. I made a lunch a couple days ago with 4 oz grilled chicken, 2 turkey meatballs, 2 hardboiled eggs, and a banana. Total calories - 500. It kept me going for a few hours and I work an active job. I also like to feel satisfied but not full. After I eat, I should be able to go for a run without…

Wait... if your boyfriend is weird about you working out with another guy who is a certified personal trainer and trains people for a living, then might I suggest a new boyfriend? If you'd rather work with a woman because you vibe better with a woman, then that's another thing. Either way, join a gym and purchase a pack of…

My boyfriend's niece and nephew are 2 and they like things like - cut up chicken nuggets cold grilled chicken mini pepperonis (might be too spicy?) mini corn dogs cut up strawberries blueberries apple sauce steamed carrots (served cold) cheese ravioli (served cold, no sauce)

You might have some luck at a local meat market. They'd shape them and weigh them for you too.

Eat smaller portions. I have certain things I get when eating out (it's usually a piece of chicken and a beer) but I'll get other stuff and just eat less of it. However, I am not a volume eater. If you are, then plan to get a vegetable too. Some other things I like when dining out - shrimp cocktail ceviche deviled eggs…

At least someone understands. I nap in the middle of the day too since I have no other way to get a boost of energy. This iced coffee thing is started to sound like a melted coffee milkshake.

Coffee is great in smoothie form! If you would rather have a fruit smoothie but still want caffeine, you can mix in a pre-workout powder instead. It's fairly concentrated though so be careful the first time you use it. It's also more expensive than coffee, but it's still an option. My coffee smoothie- ( 330 calories) 6oz…

A year from now, you'll look back and be thankful you did it the "natural" way because you've maintained a healthy way of eating, can still indulge occasionally, eat out, enjoy social dinner events etc etc. Your friend, while she still might be happy, won't be able to because she has permanently altered her body. WLS, in…

If only it wasn't chocolate... I could totally get behind a pumpkin cheesecake with white chocolate and graham cracker.

It works in a pinch though not my go-to. The last time I went I got veggies with chicken and guacamole. For some reason, the food there bothers my stomach. I think it's the amount of volume and it's too much for me to eat at once. However, I know a lot of people who love it and they do offer good options.

I'm completely addicted to caffeine but I don't see the same effect that others seem to. It's really strange. Without caffeine first thing in the morning, I'm a mess. And I need it through out the day too, or else I start to crash. Even drinking caffeine at night doesn't impact my sleep. I'll drink a Monster at 10pm and…

Yum. You can make a deconstructed Philadelphia roll, or the actual roll if you can roll sushi and make sushi rice. your choice of rice (you'll need to use a sushi rice recipe if you go that route) smoked salmon cucumber cream cheese nori Or, just serve it as the protein component. No need to mix it into anything. You could…
