  • I like Potbelly or Panera. Or, I call a local restaurant and order pick up.
  • Look up zucchini oatmeal. There are some recipes out there. I've also seen people mix riced cauliflower in. I used to eat oatmeal mixed with cinnamon, cooked with water. When it was done, I'd stir in protein powder, then top with cottage cheese, nuts and jelly. Stick the jelly on top, don't mix it in.
  • Personally, I'd skip the rice too just because I don't like it that much. But I didn't want OP to think they have to avoid carbs so I put it out there. I'd probably rather have a second meat option than rice. Or if for some reason there are roasted potatoes, then I'll go for those.
  • Hmm, depends on the base. If the base is vanilla like the Smores then I'm good. If it's chocolate, then no.
  • I focus more on portion. Buffets can be challenging because you are portioning out your food onto a big plate when you are already hungry and overloaded with choices. Make a plan and stick to it. My buffet plans would be 1 trip, no going back for seconds. To control portions- divide your plate into 3 sections. Each tray at…
  • I'd find someone to share with and then get the pork dumplings and wok veggies. Split the dumplings and the veggies and have room for a beer or 2.
  • I'm assuming this is Chinese takeout? Weigh your portion on a food scale and use a calorie count from a place like Panda Express or PF Changs. It won't be exact, but it'll get you the right ballpark.
  • There is no reason to cut out salt unless you need to for a medical reason. Or, if you just don't like the salty taste. We season tacos with pepper, paprika, cumin, garlic and onion. You can add chili powder or cayenne for more of a spice.
  • Omg, I didn't even realize either! Although, at a glance, 2013 and 2018 look pretty similar. Well, hopefully OP got their cheese problem figured out.
  • I'll make a separate thread with the link to join on Elfster. This was just to see if people are interested.
  • It's a craving, not a physical need. If it's bothering you, look into the psychology behind your craving. Do you want it at a certain time? after something has happened? when you are feeling a certain way? But, to be blunt, cravings are about willpower. Either resist and let the craving pass or cave in and continue to deal…
  • Yep, I agree with Ping. Restaurants also tend to scrape/pour your plate into a box, taking all the juice/sauce/oil/butter that was all over the bottom of your plate into the box.Whereas if you are eating off the plate, you are picking each piece of food out of the drippings. Now you also have less food and more of the…
  • Milk. I actually can't stomach it as I developed an intolerance for dairy as I grew up. But I used to chug it all the time until I was about 5. Frappaccinos. My mom used to go to the coffee shop on the way to school every morning for her drink and I'd get some sugar-bomb with whipped cream and caramel on top. This was the…
  • I don't log my days but I am mindful about what goes in my mouth. I don't do entire days where I just say "whatever!" but I will eat a meal where I let myself try different things and eat more calories than I usually would. These are reserved for date nights with my boyfriend. He likes really good food and it makes him…
  • If that is what the university offers, then that is it. Either buy it or figure out another eating arrangement. You can keep food in a dorm but it'll only be shelf-stable food unless you can have a fridge. Even better if you can have a microwave. Or, consider getting another meal plan, for 1 swipe a day, and bring a…

  • I'd just use the info for the Great Value brand. That's Walmart's brand and I'd trust that over a brand I'm not familiar with. Sometimes I go shopping at different grocery stores and I've seen labels that made no sense from their generic/store brand. In those cases, I either buy a different brand, or buy that product and…
  • Portions are the same? Check the weights for the portion size listed.
  • I'm not one that fits into an exact category either. I have broad shoulders, no boobs, straight waist, no hips, and a curvy butt. And, I'm tall. I gave up "dressing for my shape" and instead stuck more to traditional/basics. My wardrobe consists of skinny jeans in multiple washes and colors skimmers (think Gap ankle cut…
  • Somewhere with a Michelin star or another highly rated restaurant. And I eat what I want. My boyfriend and I will share a few appetizers, get entrees and desserts as well as a few beers. Last nice meal included starters grilled bacon wrapped scallops pancetta roasted Brussel sprouts flash fried crispy cauliflower with a…
  • I made a thread to see who's interested. :) https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10709226/2018-holiday-gift-exchange-rsvp-required#latest
  • I think so too as I've never seen them elsewhere. There's a few throughout the city and a few in the southern burbs towards Oak Lawn. The one by me has a really heavy Mexican influence so lots of foods geared towards that cuisine. They have some really good pre-made rice with peas and sausage. And, if you're ever in a…
  • In response to @aokoye 1. We could make an exchange to US only. And then if other countries would also like to set up their own, we could have multiple ones going. I know we have a big Canadian, Australian and European presence on the boards too! 2. As with any exchange on the internet, there is a small risk. I'd hope that…
  • Well yea, if you drink the crappy stuff. Good Scotch isn't that bad. Now Malort, that is a whole different story.
  • I love protein, meat especially. Some of good combos - frozen grilled Tyson chicken, roasted broccoli with nutritional yeast and cottage cheese 1 bag of Chefs Cut beef jerky, Quest bar, apple oatmeal, 1 scoop protein powder mixed in, topped with cottage cheese and banana sliced deli turkey, sliced cheddar cheese and hummus…
  • @pancakerunner - we can use Elfster.com! People have to be willing to sign up though, and then we all get matched through the site. And then when your gift has arrived, you can mark it as arrived. 1 person who moderates will be able to see who everyone is matched with, so if anyone becomes a grinch and doesn't send a…
  • I thought it was just my Jewel, but yes! Multiple times I have waited in line for over 20 minutes because they are understaffed or the cashiers have no idea what they are doing. I have some incredibly terrible cashiers and baggers there, gone home with food spilled out, broken eggs, smushed bread, broken sugar bag, cakes…
  • Out of both convenience and preference, I do most of my shopping at Marianos or Whole Foods. I absolutely despise Jewel Osco. Occasionally I do a Trader Joes run, usually to check out any seasonal stuff.
  • I'd need each piece to be dripping in glaze. It basically looks like Honey Smacks.
  • I used to live right next door to a grocery store so I'd just do a daily shop, picking up what I needed that day. Checked out with yogurt, jelly beans, an onion, eggs and peanut butter. While making small talk with the cashier, I mentioned I was just picking up some things for dinner. I don't think he realized I had the…
