You two big concerns are satiety and a low price, which a pre-packaged protein drink fulfills neither, unless you actually enjoy drinking your meals instead of chewing them. Things like SlimFast and Atkins shakes are going to be more expensive than making your own shakes and they offer nothing special that you can't get…

If you are having health problems that limit your diet, meet with a registered dietician who can help you make a meal plan that will meet your nutritional needs. A google search will help you find some RDs in your area. Read reviews and go from there. Make sure you meet with a dietician, not a nutritionist. Big difference…

Increase to 3500 and reassess after 2 more weeks. Just make sure you're constantly on an upward trend. Watch your activity level too. I had a habit of increasing my activity level as I ate more which made it even harder to gain.

I have broader shoulders for my frame too and all my coats are loose at the waist, even if I buy an XS. Instead, I wear a NorthFace fitted fleece jacket and then a regular snow jacket/puffer over that.

Instead of watching him and limiting his choices, why not give into him a bit? My mom didn't cook for us so breakfast was whatever we could grab, lunch was from the cafeteria, snacks were at home and dinner was eaten in a restaurant every night. Because of this, I never ate breakfast. And then I hated the school food so I…

I like Nike Frees, even though they are technically running shoes, they don't have a ton of extra padding.

It's "real calories." Make sure you are counting correctly though or else you could be short-changing yourself. What do you put in them? I'm not sure how much you have to gain, but when I was in the process of regaining weight in anorexia recovery, I was on over 4000 calories a day despite being underweight. Bodies are all…

Made a stop at Walgreens for some bleach and a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi. I noticed the person in front of me had ice cream. That reminded me, we're almost out. On my way, found the cookie aisle with a sale on Keebler Sandies. Grabbed a box! Then had to wander past the candy aisle and I saw Reese's FastBreaks on sale. Grabbed…

My life and my routine don't revolve around food. When I travel or am away from my place, I eat more adventurous stuff but it's not like certain things are off the menu just because I'm home.

I like Plum too. They have higher quality and some specialty items that are fun to get every so often. In terms of shopping there for everything... probably not. But I've always had good service there too and that is really important to me when grocery shopping. If people want to judge, whatever. A lot of times, my cart is…

Assuming 1400 is the proper amount for you, add some extra bulk and a little more fat to your meals. At breakfast- swap the wrap for a diced baked potato, and eliminate 1 egg yolk for 1/4 of an avocado instead. Mix in some spinach and tomato. At lunch - swap the chili for a broth based vegetable soup. Add some protein and…

My bf and I cooked just for the two of us and didn't make very much. Leftover meat will be eaten because we're both major carnivores. He ate the little stuffing that was left this morning and took the cookies to work. He'll freeze the cranberry sauce for cranberry vodkas. I ate the leftover Brussels this morning with eggs.…

If he able to comment on your weight in such a careless manner, then he probably doesn't care much. Some people just say stuff and there's a good chance he has forgotten by now. If it was something he cared about or was concerned about, he probably would have said it in a different manner. It was definitely rude, but I…

Probably the fact that it was quinoa...

Halved and roasted with oil, paprika, garlic and lemon. Then finished on the stove, sautéed with bacon and salt and pepper. I've learned that you need to A. use enough fat and B. cook them long enough. Try letting them sit in the olive oil, paprika, garlic and lemon juice for about an hour. Then roast, then pan saute.

Nope. When I lose weight, my feet narrow out too. Get it checked out by your GP. Is a continuous increase in size, or perhaps they just swell when you workout?

I sleep in and then go about my day as usual. Personally, I don't massively overeat at the holidays. But, even if you do, there is no need to change your routine. Get back onto your regular eating habits and go on with life.

Naw, you need a calorie deficit. That'll burn off fat and your muscle will show through. Eat at a slight deficit and keep up the training. It could be just a 5 or so pound difference, which is not that difficult to achieve.

Take other stuff that doesn't require being heated then. I don't typically eat salads for lunch either, but any of these might work for you? crackers, cold diced chicken, baby carrots and hummus 2 corn tortillas, 1/2 avocado, cold shredded chicken, cabbage cooked macaroni noodles, a little arugula, red pepper and onion,…

To strengthen my core- Pilates mat and apparatus pull ups hanging leg lifts To lose fat, which will eventually come off my core as well as the rest of my body because you can't target fat loss- calorie deficit

It's 2 totally different environments. Think of swimming in a pool vs swimming in the ocean. You have to deal with other elements and you can't just hit a switch and be change them. 2 tips 1. slow down your pace. On a treadmill, it has control over how fast you are going and you don't have to monitor it. When your outside,…

100% agree. Currently, at 5 foot 9 and 130 lbs, (8 lbs less than profile pic) I have an outline and if I give it a good flex, I have abs. Nothing like a defined 6 pack that competitors have though. For me to get there, I'd need to lose more weight which should not be one of my goals right now. Personally, a few lbs makes a…

Holidays are about spending time with people you love, not about food. But, you shouldn't compromise your relationships with others by avoiding sharing a meal, especially if it's just 1 out of the year. I'll eat a few bites of all the things I enjoy and leave things I don't. I'll probably drink 1 too many beers because…

It happens! I don't know a single person who has never binged before. We all have a different definition of what it means to binge, but I think it's part of being human. I recently went out for an anniversary and I ate way more than I ever would have at dinner. Did I regret it? Kind of, because my stomach ended up hurting…

Your idea of an order and my idea of an order might be very different. Both of those are going to be high calorie for the portion size. Get your order. Weigh it out. Use a general entry from somewhere like PF Changs or Panda Express.

Welp, I stand correctly. Clearly many places don't have break rooms. I still think it's fine to eat at your desk as long as it doesn't interfere with work and productivity. I used to have a co-worker who ate at his desk all day. Bags of chips, string cheese, little juice bottles, protein bars, peanuts, popcorn. He had a…

You shouldn't need to carb load if you are generally well fed. If you've been in a deficit, then it would be a good idea to eat at maintenance for about a week before the test. Eat a good dinner the night before and a well balanced and full breakfast the morning of, giving yourself enough time to digest. Of course bring…

I've never seen a break room without tables... Why don't you guys get a folding card table or something? My previous employee was very strict - no food at our desks. Granted, we had an open showroom with customers wandering around, so we always had to look professional. But, if you have a private office/cubicle and you're…

I put the calories to good use and hit the gym for an extra heavy lifting day. I've hit some nice PRs after an extra calorific dinner. I'm also usually a lot less hungry the next day and I eat accordingly.
