I think it's fine. Sometimes I completely crash after my workout, and I mean sleep 4-5 hours. It could be tiredness catching up to you, or your body is just demanding a rest.

Ask the concierge or hotel staff for local running spots. Or, try a local sports store and ask the staff there. Chances are, someone at a running shoe store will have some good secret trails or tips for the area. As for clothes, just do laundry. I hate returning from a trip with dirty clothes. On your last day at each…

Quesadillas! Keep a bag of tortillas on the counter, to remind yourself. Pre-shredded cheese and some frozen grilled chicken make a great filling. Microwave the chicken pieces for 1 minute while you heat the quesadilla pan. You could even add in some canned beans, spinach and salsa to the filling. If you really do just…

If it's like tahini, I bet you could make a delicious salad dressing / veggie dip / sandwich spread with it. Maybe cut it with some apple cider vinegar and mix with some spices - curry, or paprika, or garlic?

Understand that your friends might not super supportive of your weight loss efforts. Ask yourself whether these are healthy people to have in your "going out circle" at this moment. You don't need to cut off ties, but perhaps limit your social events with them to times when you have more calorie wiggle room. When you do go…

I like the Adidas soccer joggers. I wear these all the time. And, I buy them out of the men's department instead of the women's. I find that my Nike ones are a little slimmer fit. But, I have Under Armor ones that have more thigh room. Joggers that are made for sports seem to have more room in them than joggers that are…

Cereal alone probably won't do much for satiety. When I used to eat cereal, I'd mix it with some protein and fat so it was balanced. I'm a fan of Bran Flakes, Puffins Cinnamon Puffs, Corn Pops, and Golden Grahams. I used to do 180 calories of cereal splash of almond milk (10 calories) 1/2 c low fat cottage cheese (90…

I looked today for the new Quest bar flavor and there wasn't any at 7/ 11. But, they did have them on sale which means they might be trying to clear out some inventory. I'm really hoping Quest puts out some new, interesting flavors. Peanut butter is delicious but I can find a peanut butter protein bar from almost any brand.

If I am having "just a bite" then I'd assume I am tasting something that is different than the meal in front of me and is probably from someone else's plate. To me, sharing is a two way street, so if I take a bite of their food, I give them a bite of my food. If the other person declines or if there is no other person,…

Unlikely. If you have Celiac's, you'd know from intense gastrointestinal distress. I have elevated liver enzymes. Doc said it was likely due to rapid weight loss and maintaining a low body weight. She didn't seem too fussed about it, more just curious if they'd ever sort themselves out.

My grandpa passed a few years ago and he used to make amazing homemade jams. We'd always have batches of pear jam and peach jam in our fridge. I haven't seen a pear jam around, but I recently found a peach one at Whole Foods and even though it doesn't taste nearly as good as his, it was a nice reminder of him.

Chicago Deep Dish. I actually live next to a Lou Malnati's.

Where did you find them?

Italian: Minestrone soup Chinese: none Fruit: Apple Vegetable: Broccoli (cooked) Dessert: Trifle Ice Cream flavour: Ben and Jerry's "The Tonight Dough" or "Milk and Cookies" Crisp flavour: BBQ or Cheese Puffs I make stuff fit into my eating habits. I don't see a reason to over-eat just because something tastes good.

I go early and beat traffic. I figured out that if I leave my place at 6 am, I can get to the gym (right next to work) by 6:30 am, workout for an hour, shower and then be to work by 8am. If I leave anytime after 6:15 am, I'm stuck in traffic for an hour. Find a gym close to work so you can go before. You have time to…

It's a walk... stop overthinking it and log it as a walk, backpack or not. 12 lbs is not a lot.

Chicken strips... kidding, kind of. What about falafel? You could make mini falafel balls and drop them in like goldfish crackers.
-
I've tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch balls. They were okay, but not amazing. Kind of like a dry donut hole with a little bit of icing inside. You'd have a better flavor combo buying glazed donut holes, sprinkling with cinnamon sugar and squirt of whipped cream.

I'd guess 500 - 600 calories for the shell. It's a full sized, burrito tortilla (usually around 250-350 calories) covered in butter and then deep fried in oil. Tortillas are good "sponges" for soaked up liquid, so it holds the oil pretty well. Usually in restaurants, taco salads are over 1000 calories and the majority of…

Games. Strategy. Competition. Teams. So, like Capture the Flag??? But with weights somehow mixed in... Group fitness isn't my style to begin with. And if I wanted to play a game with a bunch of adults, I'd join the city league for kickball. At least then there is alcohol involved.

Those are both questions for your treatment team, not for an online forum with strangers who do not know you personally.

Use a bread plate then. Think that the plate that the restaurant served to you is the family portion that you'd pass around a dinner table. Take your part off that plate and put it onto a smaller bread plate. That is your portion. The rest is to go.

You're similar to me. I actually eat a lot of meat, but I don't eat meat with bones still in it, I don't eat skin and I won't won't touch any meat than is tough or chewy. I have found a lot of pre-prepped products that are good. Tyson makes boneless, skinless, grilled chicken strips that are pre cooked and frozen. They are…

I've eaten expired Quest bars. The flavor was a little less potent and the bar was slightly harder than usual. Nothing bad happened though and I have a very, very sensitive stomach.

Very true, a lot of appetizers are high in calories. This is where making smart choices helps. I also don't eat the whole thing myself. I go for grilled calamari, grilled baby octopus, chicken skewers, shrimp cocktail, beef carpaccio or something else similar. i usually eat about 1/3 of the appetizer and a side of…

@hgycta - 190 calories for the entire Olly cookie. I'll definitely eat the rest of the box, but they are basically Clif bars. For anyone who likes Clif bars but wants a slightly lower calorie alternative, these are good option.

What don't you like about meat? Have you tried some of the vegetarian alternatives? Veggie burgers are good. Tofu is good if you cook it with a lot of flavor. Morningstar makes a lot of vegetarian products. Nothing wrong with protein bars though. I usually eat 2 in a day. If you are going to eat them for a protein source,…

I agree with the above. Drinking a sports drink or some juice will put some calories in your body for energy but won't upset your stomach. Pre-workout is just caffeine, something with some additional added supplements. You can get the same caffeine from coffee or another caffeinated drink.
-
@hgycta I grabbed the Olly "protein" cookies. Macros - 10g of protein per 190 calories, 8 grams of fat and 21 g of carbs/ 7 g of fiber. I tried the berry flavor, and it tastes good, but it isn't anything like a cookie. The bar is dense but like a Clif bar, not like a Lenny and Larry's. It has a very oaty texture to it…

I rarely order a full meal because of this. I usually order an appetizer and maybe a side to go with it. Or, I'll get a cup of soup and an appetizer. My boyfriend and I can share the appetizer and then I can eat some of what he orders. I really like to share food and I see no point in order a whole meal, only to leave most…
