I went pointe --> pregnancy --> running so my feet really have gone through the wringer. I never really got bad dancers feet. Then I retained all the water in southeastern PA when I was pregnant and my feet swelled like loaves of bread dough rising. And now that I'm losing weight, my feet are shrinking back to their…

I'm in again. Not sure on mileage (I said 20 miles last month to get myself to 30 miles, and finished just north of that). Mileage is sorta incidental to me at this point. Goals: Finish Couch to 10K Run another 5k with my sister while she's visiting from Missouri. Probably just on treadmills at the gym. I lost my right…

The baby didn't have a great night last night, but I dragged myself out of the house while he took his first nap. Week 11, day 1 of c210k complete! I got 4.5 miles in, including 3 times up this awful hill in the neighborhood. I originally missed the cue to start running, so I restarted the workout and started running right…

Gosh, Nony, that looks terrible! I have zero experience with steroids and all I know about eczema is some babies get it, usually clears up by two years old, and some moms put breast milk on it.

Well speaking of refeeds and monthly cycles, mine is here four days early. I'd been pretty regular after giving birth - got cycle back at four months postpartum and maintained a 28 day cycle for the first time in my life without hormonal birth control. Now it's day 24 and sigh, it's here. I hardly had any time to get my…

Officially weighed in this morning. 187.8 lbs which was less than expected. I possibly underestimated my maintenance calories or over estimated my intake. It is still up a bit from my low weight, but I expected a bit more.

So I'm home now after lots of travel and some sodium-filled fast food. Even though I always weigh myself in the morning, naked after using he bathroom, I almost immediately jumped on the scale. In the evening. Fully clothed. Amazingly only "up" 4 lbs from my last proper scale reading. I'll weigh in properly tomorrow…

I knew there was a reason I originally planned on two weeks. I'm just panicking because part of my brain is screaming "this is not how you lose weight!" And that's true, I'm not trying to lose right now - I'm trying to reset hormones.

We're traveling back home post holidays. My husband and I are getting ready to head to the gym so we can maintain that we've been "active" during this break. Tomorrow will be another travel day and then I'll be able to weigh in on Monday. I had originally planned to continue the diet break another week, then deficit for…

Results are in. My first official 5k time was 47:25. There were a few big-for-me hills and lots of walkers to navigate around, so I'm okay with my time. I was 4623 out of 9966 overall and 339 in my division F3039. I'll take it! :)

A garmin vivosmart 3 has been added to my husband's amazon cart in anticipation of Christmas. My sister-in-law likes her Fitbit, but I'm really more about the heart rate and calorie burn tracking. Years and years ago (like ten years), I had a polar heart rate monitor that had the chest strap and watch. It worked well for…

I'm dying of impatience waiting for the official results to come out for my turkey trot. No running today. Still eating all the food and drinking all the wine that goes with getting together with family.

In the hopes of getting more/better tracking of calories and burn, I'm looking for input into a heart rate monitor/fitness tracker. Anyone have any input on what you love or hate about yours? There are some good deals on Fitbits today, but I really have no idea what I'm looking for. Diet break continues strong. Yesterday I…

This turkey trotted! There were 9,965 people in the race today. The fastest runners had already crossed the finish line by the time I got to the start. It was about 30 F outside. The baby (13 months old) was bundled up like the kid from A Christmas Story (I can't put my arms down!) and I was wearing long pants and long…

Tomorrow's my first turkey trot 5k. There will be 10,000 people (no exaggeration), construction on the road narrowing 4 lanes to 1, hills, etc. The only reason I'm not completely panicked is because I take anxiety medication. It'll be about 30 F when we start and I'm not sure if I'll need a jacket or if my long sleeved…

I did Day 2 of stronglifts yesterday. My quads were still sore from Sunday but they felt good while I was doing the squats. Now they're screaming again. It was a little easier to run yesterday after the workout. I started slower than I have in awhile and gradually picked up the pace. Only did 1.5 miles because my in-laws…

I always say my husband is part puppy. He's furry and super friendly. He's extremely extroverted, talks to everyone, makes instant lifelong friends. I'm extremely introverted and prone to anxiety so I talk to few people awkwardly. Opposites attract, right? Where's that link @anubis609 shared about alcohol? Asking for a…

And I don't think the message was that two day refeeds were detrimental or anything, he just wasn't as gung ho about them as he initially was. I just don't remember the logic or reasoning. I need @anubis609 to listen and explain it in a way I can understand it.

Ooh! What game is it?

Morning 4 of my diet break: weight is up again 187.0 lbs. Lowest weight was 185.0 lbs ten days ago. I figure even if I overshoot my maintenance calories by 500/day, that's only a pound of fat after a week. Yesterday, I bought my first pair of smaller jeans since starting my weight loss journey. It was exciting when my…

Thanks for all the responses! I just tweaked my calories up a bit - it was what I had previous calculated to be my maintenance, but then I panicked and cosined when I should've tangented and reworked a new number. I'm traveling for the next week or so, so I won't have my scale and I won't be able to obsess over every…

If the photo loads, this was me 2 days before giving birth. I was retaining all the water in southeastern Pennsylvania. Hyperbole but not much. If you can see my feet, they were rising up out of my shoes like loaves of dough. I couldn't even close my jaw properly so smiling was awkward. All this to say, I feel ya on the…

I'm 3 days in to my diet break and I'm kinda panicking. I'm up slightly, which is to be expected. This just goes against so much ingrained diet "knowledge" that I've acquired over the years. I've finally started adding strength training into my routine and everything hurts, in a good way. I've run my numbers to try to…

I haven't run since last Tuesday. I've had a cold, the baby has a cold, anxiety, etc. finally got to the gym today with the idea that I might try some strength training. I downloaded the stronglifts 5x5 app after hearing so many good things about it. I was very nervous about using more than just the treadmill but it is a…

I'm looking forward to reaching that point in my mindset. I'm struggling a bit since the scale went up a pound from last week to this week and my instincts were A) try to not eat anything until the scale dropped B) skip the diet break until I "earned" it. I have done an okay job of ignoring those instincts, but it hasn't…

I did another refeed weekend on Saturday and Sunday and deficit for this week. This was my second two day refeed - last week saw a 2.2 lb drop on the scale. This week saw a 1.2 lb gain. Thoughts on the scale: water weight. I'm about midway through my cycle now, so ovulation could be impacting the scale. Milk weight - I…

Today is supposed to be a running day for me but I've got a cold. My head doesn't hurt as much as yesterday, but I've got quite a cough and my lungs are a bit phlegmy. The treadmill at the gym would allow me to be warmish and not have a faucet for a nose. Running outside would allow me to cough and spit freely. The baby is…

The baby and I are visiting my mom so I had to run outside today. Everything is a hill outside. Since I'm trying to prep for the turkey trot which has a big (for me) hill, I deliberately tried to run a few more hills than usual. I immediately regretted that decision. It felt like I was climbing for miles and hours, and it…

I'm in the US and lack judgmental cats. What's the conversion rate for one toddler who thinks mama doing squats is the most hilarious thing?

No run today, but ran yesterday. Week 10, day 2 of 10K done. I felt less like I was going to die than I did when I completed day 1 on Thursday. I weighed in on Friday and I've lost weight so MyFitnessPal tells me I burned four fewer calories for the same amount of work. Good news and bad.
