Yep. Bike week here in Arizona is mid April. I'm sure there will be a few of those RV's in the camping area.

I take it you've never been to Sturgis for the motorcycle rally.

Been riding since 1972. Have owned multiple Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson and Yamaha bikes. Current bike is a Yamaha FZ1 sport standard, which I also use for sport-touring.

Pork rinds taste great. As you mentioned, they're a low carb/high protein snack, so if they fit your macros, enjoy.

Short term: I'm 5 pounds away from being overweight, and not obese anymore! After that, I'm 13 pounds away from 'Onederland'.

I tried Weight Watchers many years ago and lost weight. That being said, I was always hungry. My appetite was never satisfied. I eventually gained it back. In figuring out what worked for me with food, the WW program was way too high in carbohydrates. Upon analysis, a diet higher in protein and fat is what leaves me…

When I got a call early one morning informing me that my mom had unexpectedly died, I sat on the edge of the bed and wept like a baby. My wife was shocked, since in our 20+ years of marriage, I'd never cried about anything before this.

Unless you start exercising, you just become a slimmer version of your fat, out of shape self.

They are TERRIFIC in Asian noodle dishes. I love Pad Thai and have recently started making it using shirataki noodles. It tastes great. The noodles pick up the flavor of whatever sauce you're using while providing virtually no calories. The key is in the preparation. Rinse the noodles thoroughly before using to eliminate…

From your nit-picky post, you obviously don't like America. To each their own. As someone in the service industry who deals with whiners daily, my suggestion is: Go to your conference. Cut out the extra 7-8 days, and go home. After reading your post, I think you'll be happier.

I tell them, "It's not rocket science. Move more, eat less."

I too feel uncomfortable discussing my diet and weight. When asked about my diet, I just say "Nothing specific. Just move more and eat less." When asked how much weight I've lost, I say "I don't measure by the scale. I measure by how well my clothes fit. And they're fitting much better, so, thank you for noticing."

I use McCormick Grill Mates seasoning marinates. They're great! Marinate the meat for 24 to 48 hours. My favorites are: Mesquite Baja Citrus Chipotle Pepper Mojito Like Korean BBQ

I weigh myself on Friday and Monday. Weighing on Friday keeps me motivated during the week. Weighing on Monday helps me stay on track over the previous weekend.

15 weeks. YMMV.

THIS! Recognizing this and consciously working to make a change, getting out of the ruts, is what's needed to succeed long term. The longer I'm on this weight loss journey, the more I occasionally fixate on 'trigger' foods. I needed a way to break that fixation. Like in the Movie ‘UP’, near the end, when Russell sees Carl…

Everyone is different, but some people, myself included, have 'rebound hunger' when consuming high-glycemic, or fast digesting carbohydrates. Much of my success in losing weight is from switching to low-glycemic carbohydrates like vegetables, fruit and dairy, which leave me satisfied. Unlike sugar and processed flour…

How easily a cup of coffee will knock down my afternoon appetite. And if that doesn't completely quash it, an additional hard boiled egg will finish the job. All for less than 100 calories.

While in transition, I shop Goodwill for slacks and shirts for work. I then donate the 'too big' clothes back to Goodwill.

Yes. I've lost over 50 pounds in 15 weeks, and expect to lose over 60 pounds in 5 months, so it can be done. There are so many factors that have to be aligned for you to succeed. Even under the most ideal circumstances, many people don't have the long term determination to accomplish this task. Can you do it? You won't…

I did. I used to drink 2 to 3 liters of diet soda per day. When I started my weight loss plan, I was still drinking diet soda. I found myself hungry almost all the time after drinking it. Then I read that drinking diet soda can trigger rebound hunger. So I stopped. Cold turkey. I started drinking plain water. And guess…

Same here. I eliminated diet soda since it always, always, Always triggers my appetite. I drink water instead and get very few cravings. It must be working since I've lost almost 50 pounds in 15 weeks.
