My husband is 6’8 and obese and I’m 5’4 trying to lose 10 pounds. I feel you. He loses 2 lbs a week just by eating a salad and only have 1 bee a night. It’s annoying but there’s nothing you can do unfortunately

I’m on a similar schedule, usually don’t get home until 8pm after work and the gym. I’ve found brushing my teeth after eating really helps.
-
I use the MapMyRun app. Let’s you know split times and average pace, and it keeps track of the routes you run which I like. I average 9-9:30 min miles for longer runs.

I brush my teeth after dinner (though I tend to eat dinner on the later side...8pm usually). Makes me at least think twice before eating/mindlessly snacking/giving into cravings.

While I’ve never given birth, I know several people who had an abdominal tear that severely weakens your core strength. There was an interesting article about it: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/08/07/541204499/flattening-the-mummy-tummy-with-1-exercise-10-minutes-a-day

Also had this when I started running. I was in too much pain to go more than 2-3 miles. I listened to my body, mixed in some walking, and did lots of good stretching and foam rolling. More importantly, I cross trained and did lots of strength training too. Now I'm running 7 miles several times/week without pain. Still…

Thanks all! I did a 5k fun run recently for work so I'm more looking to challenge myself and build endurance safely. Definitely don't want an injury--I'm annoying as hell when I cant exercise! Im signing up for the 10k in September and am super excited to have a goal to work towards. Appreciate all the advice.

Yeah, obviously the calorie deficit is what causes the weight loss. More curious about the makeup I guess of the weight lost (maintaining muscle/losing fat).

Planning on doing a 5 mile run and core work this evening.

I like to do a mix, so my typical workout is: -30 min elliptical or bike -10-15 min sprints (30 sec all out, 30 sec rest) -20-30 min weight lifting circuits + stretching
