My inspiration? Double bypass surgery almosy 7 weeks ago due to coronary artery disease, and the realization that if I didn't become more active and drop a lot of excess weight, I'd be back in the OR in a few years, and in worse shape. 59 is way too young to give up, and I have no intention of giving up. So I'm committed,…

If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic, sugary drinks of any kind should be on the never-touch list. I grew up drinking Coke, Pepsi, sweet tea, etc. Gave it up long ago in favor of diet drinks. July 18 had two bypass grafts put in, and have been busy drastically revising my eating habits and exercise habits (formerly mostly recliner sitting interspersed with bouts of…

Feel free to add me if you want. I'm 59, and 6 weeks +2 days ago I had reality slap me in the face, in the form of open heart surgery for a double bypass. I weighed 283.5 lbs the day after I got home from the hospital. This morning, the scales read 265.0. I logged 7,400 steps today, have made a drastic change in diet and…

My wife and I watched that show too, were not impressed by the contestants (how can one be a celebrity when I've never heard of most of them??).
