Are you also eating at a deficit? Just doing low carb doesn't mean you'll lose weight if you're eating at maintenance now.
-
Please don't get frustrated. Let's leave our egos at the door and try to come from it at another angle. If you feel adamant about your position, let it inspire you to get more research and information. Not insight anger and defiance. We can all learn something.

I had to edit my comment. Guess you didn't do the research. Which is a shame cause it's pretty great to be liberated from perpetuated myths. GL anyway.
-
Can you provide your scientific based sources/research, please?
-
But It doesn't matter "when you go to bed and wake up". That's why they responded that way.

Consume less calories if your motivation is to lose weight.
-
OP What is your TDEE? How many calories do you eat daily? Do you weigh your food with a scale? Will you open your diary?
-
It's not when you eat, it's how many calories you consume during that time. The time of day/night is entirely your choice.
-
Knowing the facts comes first. If one chooses to be restrictive, than at least they go into it with knowledge and foresight. No one is advocating 1 specific way of eating. Rather, providing information the OP doesn’t already have or understand.

You’re not a psycho because you monitor your calories. Ever thought about looking at your calories over the course of the week? In situations like this when you want to partake DO!, but it doesn’t mean you have to lose control either. Eat a satisfactory amount, and fit it into your weekly goal. Just one of the many options…

Cherry Coke Zero > pretty much everything else, folks. Yum

I’m not sure I know entirely what you mean. No, if you eat at a deficit forever, you will lose weight and eventually die of starvation. You will stop losing when you eat at maintenance or above.
-
If I send the link to men’s health, will you read it then? I’ll make sure there’s pictures. I’ll recommend they attach a crayon.

Just curious, what’s your beef with science? Don’t want to consume these things, fine. No one is saying your preference is not okay. We just don’t appreciate misinformation passed on that isn’t based on facts or legitimate scientific studies. Believe me, it was jarring for me too when I learned most of what is…

You’re taking one of the most important steps, allowing yourself to eat without restriction. This can be a prison for binge eaters that trigger them the most. My personal experience- I didn’t eat at maintenance. It was territory I wasn’t prepared for. However I ate a small deficit (maybe 300-350 cals), had NO off limits…

One of the biggest concerns with perpetuating the detox woo (and other dieting myths) is the psychological damage. How many people have spent years of their life in a vicious cycle tormenting themselves because of lies and misinformation? I for one have been on the dieting rollercoaster since 3rd grade. That does take a…

I read that as coffee or diet cake... I must be tired. I would still say Diet Coke. You’d have to pry coffee with cream from my cold dead hands.

With MFP I like to set it to sedentary, and it will give me my extra activity calories as I go. I like seeing what I need each new day. Like everyone said, pick one.

Read ‘Most Helpful Posts’ at the top of the page. This will clarify everything. Incredibly helpful.

A diet detox doesn’t exist, that’s why. Your body detoxes all day everyday, you believe a marketing scheme, I’m sorry. If you want to eat those foods- great. HOWEVER all you need is a calorie deficit to lose weight, but knock yourself out. Unless you can do it for the rest of your life, why are you setting yourself up for…

To be in ketosis you do have to have VERY limited amounts of carbs. So few that carbs in vegetables can make or break you. Since fruit has a much higher content, that’s pretty much a no because it can be tough to fit it in. The reality is, so much is cut out, and it’s completely unnecessary unless medically advised. Why…

Carbs and protein are both 4 calories per gram. Just sayin'. :) [/quote] @Anvil_Head Oh thank god, I thought my ocd was going to make my head explode.

1. What is your TDEE (not your BMR) 2. This is why most people eat back half or all their exercise calories while eating at a deficit under their TDEE (shooting for .5-1 lb loss per week) 3. Eat whatever you want, that’s up to you. All you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit. All diets boil down to cico.

Just put hot sauce on everything. The lbs will fall off.

I get the spirit of what you’re saying, and I’m genuinely happy for you that you feel empowered. Just a couple thoughts- You remarked “Food has always been my weakness”. I used to think that way. Food isn’t your enemy. As long as you look at it this way, you will have a hard time finding harmony with this necessity. “I…

Just wanted to say whatever you do, be consistent, and choose something that you can do for an extended period of time. Only you can decide if IF is right for you. Sometimes having parameters helps people reach their goals, so they don’t reach for that extra treat after 8pm or whatever. At the end of the day all that…

Can you give us some insight as to what happened? That way we can better support you.
