Have you tried exercising in the morning on an empty stomach? Just curious on all of these.
Also, are you mixing things up a little, like running / biking / etc?
I got crazy and drank 3.5 ounces of red wine last night. If I excerise on an empty belly I get REALLY dizzy. Because of my work schedule, my work hours are nutty. I try to finish consuming food before 9pm at the latest. I usually end up jogging in the evenings.
Gotcha. If you are eating regularly around 9PM, that could be part of the issue. But I guess this all depends when you go to bed and wake up.33 -

Why does this matter??
What about people that work night shift?
They're doomed to be fat forever because they eat at night?13 -

This actually drives me mad because I worked the night shift for 2 *kitten* years and I was skinny, I've been losing weight even eating at 1 in the morning. Time literally doesn't matter.5 -

I disagree 100%. If you are eating dinner at 8PM and go to bed at 8:30PM, yes that does make a difference.39 -

But why does it make a difference? I've lost 23 lbs, there are multiple nights a week I eat and 15 minutes later go to bed. How can you explain that?6 -

Shoot sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night hungry, make a snack, and go back to sleep. Still losing weight. Does this mean I'm a snowflake? The special kind.12 -

I had to edit my comment. Guess you didn't do the research. Which is a shame cause it's pretty great to be liberated from perpetuated myths. GL anyway.10 -

I'm sorry if this is upsetting to you, but we generally think it's better to share accurate information here. I know it's easy to become convinced of something that isn't true (like your body can't use energy while you're sleeping) because it seems like common sense. Part of successful weight loss and maintaining is learning to sort that stuff out so you can focus on what matters -- calories in and calories out. Avoiding food before bedtime isn't necessary (unless you have specific issues like heartburn/reflux or you find it makes it easier for you to hit your calorie goals). Good luck!21 -

We're not trying to be jerks. You're spreading bad information. It will help OP as much as it will help you to debunk it.
Sure, if I eat late at night when I weigh in in the morning it won't be the same as what it would be had I eaten an earlier dinner. But that's because the food is still in transit, being broken down. Not because it's been converted to fat.13
