Hey all, thought I'd check in after weeks of silence. :) I stopped logging and counting for a while, and it seems I'm maintaining ok for the moment. I weighed myself this morning and trending weight went a bit up (58.5 vs 58.2 9 days ago), but it's TOM and I've been developing a strong evening M&M's addiction. Scale puts…

I am sharing. It's pretty hard to hide from hubby and colleagues know as well. I am an extravert though and if I don't share my ups and downs, I feel isolated (if that makes any sense). It's not fair that only those heavily overweight get encouraged and supported, I think if more of "not-so-heavy" girls shared their…

@rianneonamission , I'll be starting a C25K mid-April too. Technically I can run 3-4 km, but I'd really like to improve my cardio endurance as it's in pitiful state. Will be fun having you as a virtual running buddy. :) And AMAZING vacation photos!

Don't think OP is concerned by that seeing as OP is a male. ;)
-
She's just warning OP he might not be satiated on keto as OP has no experience with it yet.
-
That IS my biggest problem... *facepalm*

3500/7 = 500 extra per day meaning 1900 total per day, yeah, I could've done that (had a really bad week). Your protein intake was 100 gram if I recall correctly? As per TLS I should consume between 127 and 155 gram per day (depending on whether it's maintenance or cutting), I find it impossibly high, so I'll probably…

For fat measurement I use Omron BF511 (can't paste a picture). It measures (theoretically) more accurate as it passes current through the whole body vs only legs.
-
@DomesticKat don't think it's just water weight or it's been there since more than a week as it's my trending weight that goes up. I do hope you're right though. I know I won't get bodybuilders' bulky, but I was more talking of looking temporarily bigger when muscles start to grow and fat is still there. Thank you for…

Mine is Deso 20 (combined Desogestrel/ethinylestradiol) and theoretically I have to take it for 3 months and then go back for a check-up. ETA: after reading this, I think I'll stop the pill You're right about strict and better choices, I guess I'm just tired of counting cals and macros, but I did tell myself and others…

Sorry, I gave up... I'd really like to help you, but there are a lot of mistakes in the survey ("as same as others"??), questions and choices are not clearly formulated and that makes it really difficult....

I've just recently bought "Thinner Leaner Stronger" and he focuses on proper form of squat and deadlift, among others. I'm a complete beginner and have yet to start strength training, but I also have back issues (like everyone nowadays, it seems), I will let you know how it goes.

You're very welcome, @vkdaya ! Tummy fat is the worst: extremely unhealthy and usually what triggers us girls to feel fat (I totally got congratulations on being pregnant once). Just remember you can't spot reduce fat and that pouch will probably go as last, but it will go. And you have to do it for yourself, not others.…

Sounds like your doctors are looking only at your BMI. I started MFP with 62.4 kg on the scale, feeling extremely fat and in fact I was. I had 34% of body fat and stomach circumference of about 90 cm both of which are red flags for obesity. My BMI though was right in the middle of healthy weight range. 4 months later I'm…

I'm sedentary and move very little, so as per IIFYM I'm aiming for 1272 cal. I recalculate every time my trending weight goes down 2 pounds or so though. According to Fitbit I burn 1934 on average and I'm losing about a pound per week.
-
Sounds like my mom... I told her to try keto (Atkins), but she hasn't even started because "what am I supposed to eat, give me recipes"... Now I'm trying to get her to understand how calories work and when she's lost some and is comfortable with CICO, I'll explain the whole macros thing.
-
If the numbers affect you so much I would definitely recommend to focus on trending weight. I just now realize you spoke of gaining 1 pound, not losing it, apologies for misreading. Nice it's gone already! :)
-
I've calculated mine on IIFYM and I never hit my protein... I've found this online somewhere, thought I recalculated my macros based on this but apparently I haven't: But if you're on low-carb/keto (cause you mentioned not hitting carbs), you'll need different macros.

@Elisabuffy19 , welcome! I've sent you a friend request. :) https://www.iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ is a good place to start to calculate your daily cal allowance, but I'm afraid it will be lower than 1800 unless you are very active. @gutsnglory6 , it's a nice feeling to see the number drop, isn't it? :) Regarding body…

Start using trendweight.com or a similar app. It's been a sanity saver for me. It will only count 1 measurement per day though, but that's good to wean you off obsessive weighing. 6 pounds you've "put on" in one day is a 21000 cal surplus in fat, so I think it's pretty obvious it's "something else".
-
@mrssunshine78 , crossing fingers it goes off fast! And happy belated birthday! @itseclair , I've been fasting on Mondays since a month and the only advantage I noticed so far is that it helps you balance weekly deficit if you like me tend to overeat during weekends. You do need strong willpower though not to devour…

I'm a bit late with March check-in, here it goes: Height: 1m67 / 5'6" HW: 64 kg / 141 lbs (like a year after pregnancy, so no excuse) UGW: 57 kg / 126 lbs (20-22% BF) January SW: 62.4 kg / 137.6 lbs (~34% body fat) February SW: 59.6 kg / 131.4 lbs & 31.5% / 18.77 kg BF March SW: 58.5 kg / 129 lbs & 30.5% / 18.1 kg BF March…

I skipped last week check-in, was having a really bad week (home with sick 5 yo) and tbh still not quiet "feeling it". Haven't run since 2 weeks, was going to go out for a run tomorrow, but it was cold-ish, so stayed in. I need to get myself together and maybe get a gym membership or something, so I can run on a…

I'm 5'6" and my GW is also 127-ish :)

Tracking meticulously is the key. Knowing your TDEE is very important too. Maybe you're not losing weight but your body composition is changing? Any changes in how your clothes feel?
-
Well done! ;) Could you post a link to the routine you use? YouTube has too many hits on "Yoga for Runners - Post workout"

@Link2Life , You're just starting, 5.5 mph is actually quite fast (and your HR confirms it). I'm with @7lenny7 on this: slow down. I'm back to running after a break and I'm following a 10K now. I sometimes run as slow as 4.2 mph to stay around instructed 157 bpm. I wish someone had told me 3 years ago that there's no such…
