Its the only way to lose weight. Having your body burn more cal's then you consume. Even if you're "burning" by siting on the couch lifting the tv remote. The body burns a pretty large amount by just existing. There is no success if you don't monitor your calorie intake/output.

The popped is alot less calories because the volume (space it occupies) is much higher. 1 popped piece is alot of unpopped kernals space-wise. Table spoon for kernals, or a measuring cup for popped. Most one can safely lose is about 2.5lb a week, and thats kinda extreme. 1-1.5lb a week seems to be the average from what I've seen around here. So... 2 weeks left in Oct, 4 in Nov.. = 6 weeks... Running everyday will lead to injuries if you're new to it. Bout 6 months back I lost 5 weeks due to an ankle injury from daily running. Its not worth the pain and the down time, take least every other day off.

Squats and dead's. Throw in bench and your'e pretty much hitting the entire body. Starting strength is a good program and includes these.

Keep track of calories. Long as you burn more then you consume you'll lose weight. You can eat whatever you like. Try to eat healthy food but the truth is you can lose wieght on a diet of debbie cakes and hershey bars as long as you stay under your daily calorie limit.
