Good to know, but I read that the pharmacist knowingly administered some of the spoiled vaccine, knowing that, at best, it would be less effective. Also that the action of leaving it out resulted in many doses having to be destroyed. My concern is that as consumers, are there safe guards in place for preparing the syringes…

One of the things I’ve been concerned with from the start of using the vaccine, was how we can be assured that it’s being handled correctly. Having to be stored at extremely cold temperatures and effectiveness duration when removed from extreme cold. How are they ensuring that standards are being met in every situation, or…

2020 is finally over! May 2021 show steady improvement, good health, and better times! Stay safe out there🙏🏻

I agree. Things aren’t going as planned with the vaccine anywhere. So, continuing to do what we’ve been doing since March.

Whatever fits into your calorie deficit is fine. Personal preference on how you want to spend your calories. Eating more calories, from any food or beverage consumed leads to weight gain. There is no bad food resulting in weight gain. Just too many calories.

Thanks everyone! You’re the best! I have a lot of things to try on my quest for battling dry, cracking hands. We don’t have a humidifier, but do have two cast iron tea kettles filled with water on top of the wood stove.
-
@snowflake954 Yeah, me too. The hand sanitizer makes it worse. @kshama2001 I do like it toasty, and heating with wood, it gets really dry in the house in the winter. I’ll try your recipe. I do use it only when I’m out and about, and wash my hands as soon as I get home, and slather on lotion after washing my hands. We feed…

Speaking of hand sanitizer. Living in a cold winter climate (Minnesota), I’ve always steered away from it. Until covid. I’ve got a real issue with dry, chapped, cracking hands. The hand sanitizer makes it worse. Believe me, I’ve tried everything for softening my hands. It’s really bad this winter. Can anyone relate, and…

Reading through this really got me thinking. I guess every sport mentioned, people could be classified as athletes when you are at the top of your field and competitive in the field. Maybe, for many, the term athletic could be better applied. Some of us (me), are real klutzes 🤷🏻♀️, not an athletic bone in my body.

I love fennel too. It’s great roasted with beets, or shaved in salads. Really adds to flavor in vegetable soup. OP, clean eating is an arbitrary term to me. I owe my weight loss success to eating less calories than my body burns. No food is off limit. Just a lot less consumed. Paying close attention to portion control and…

Always, the one where you eat less calories than you burn. You can package it and promote it any way you want, but, weight loss always comes down to eating less calories than your body burns.

I’m far from a defender, but, there’s a lot of blame to go around. The posturing and rhetoric went on for months by congress. According to what I’ve read, no one in congress read the 5500 page bill they passed. Not an unusual occurrence by all accounts. We keep a bottle of hand sanitizer, Colorox wipes, and spare masks in…

Minnesota has an app, COVIDaware Minnesota, that supposedly notifies you if you’ve been in contact with someone that has covid. I’m assuming other states have it as well. I’ve had it on my phone since around Thanksgiving. I’m wondering if anyone has actually been notified about exposure through this app. It’s my…

Both my husband’s prescriptions and our dog’s prescriptions are call when you arrive, pay when you call, and they bring it out to your car with the prescription and receipt. No one is allowed inside the facilities. When our dog has an appointment, you call when you arrive. The vet tech comes out and gets him. After the vet…

Weight gain occurs when you eat more calories than your body burns. You need to decrease your calorie intake to compensate for the calorie burn from your limited activity level, at least until you can do more exercising. I broke my ankle badly years ago and was on crutches for 5 months, so I understand what you are going…

I would be more than happy with pickup (delivery not an option, rural, 12 miles from nearest grocery store) but, mainly for reasons you have stated, expiration dates, quality of meat and produce, I will continue to do my own shopping. I don’t know about other places, but here, grocery prices have gone up during covid. An…

In Minnesota, our governor announced last week that celebrations would be limited to two households if inside, three, if outside. We are currently in a blizzard. The temperature has gone from 45 F yesterday morning, to 0 F now, with wind chills well below zero. I’m guessing that not many will be celebrating outside. Will…

We really are all in this together. After months without any cases, Antarctica, now has dozens of cases of Covid-19.

The reward was in the scale moving down and the need for smaller sizes.

I kind of was thinking that myself, I’m not kidding, and I am worried.

Dr. Fauci was interviewed last night on, The News Hour, on PBS. This question came up. He said the vaccine will respond to the mutated forms of the virus. He said that it’s possible, that the mutated form in the UK may already be here, and that they will be checking the tests to see whether it is here already.

Love broccoli raw. Hate it cooked, and I’ve cooked it many different ways. Same with cauliflower.

It’s a perception many countries in the world have about Americans. To me, what’s worse is the fact that her mother kind of condoned her behavior. The punishment is too harsh. Easy to see how the entitlement gets passed on. No personal accountability. I just read that the US is not going to restrict flights from the UK, in…

I’ve got to agree. Why is anyone flying on commercial flights in the US? It really doesn’t make sense. My daughter flies a lot for her job. Her company quit flights back in March. She hasn’t gone anywhere in 2020. I’m pretty sure a lot of Americans are taking this seriously. I don’t know anyone that has flown this year. I…

Rennie, that’s so heartbreaking. A horrible decision to have to make. Getting on a plane has been risky business from the start. It’s one of the ways this spread so rapidly. If the airlines want to keep flying, maybe they should do rapid testing for all people before they board flights. I’m not so sure that it’s fair to…

I can relate a bit. Between 2/23/20 to 5/10/20 I couldn’t see my daughter. My only child. Pre-covid, she came to visit every week. We missed our second Easter of her life. Ironically, she was in England the first Easter we missed being together, attending a semester of college abroad. As I finished my gift wrapping today,…

It is disheartening. So sorry for your pain❤️ If I understand it correctly, it’s due to the discovery of a more contagious strain. Sadness of 2020🥲
-
@snowflake954 It appears that some people are, understandably, on their last nerve. As each day passes, more are feeling the stress and strain. Normal everyday life compounds the feelings. Is there any chance of each individual family (male or female member, [we have some pretty terrible cooks in our family, of both…

If you’re in SE Minnesota or Western Wisconsin you’re invited. It’s just DD, DH & me. We can have two families over. Daughter is 36, so about your age. I’m totally serious. No covid so far. Daughter has been working from home for 3 years. She’s lonely, and a little depressed. I worry so about my only chick.

@snowflake954 Happy birthday 🎂! I hope your family in Minnesota are doing well🙏🏻. It has to be worrying for you. Know that things are improving here somewhat. Our governor is a good man, who truly has our safety and wellness at heart. Hang in there. You’ve been a voice of reason through this all for many here, from the…
