  • Exercise for health. Exercise machines are often high estimates. Eating less calories than your body burns is the way weight is lost. ALWAYS. Many people lose weight with no additional exercise. I lost 90 pounds before I began to even walk more.
  • It’s up to you. Eat foods you like, in reasonable serving sizes, staying in a calorie deficit, or eat what, and how much you want. You are only cheating yourself and possibly prolonging, or for some people, sabotaging, your weight loss journey. Planning cheat meals would be counterproductive for me. The term…
  • I agree with this. Our governor (Minnesota) is opening a few things up, but holding off on others until after the new year. Restaurants are opening today for outside dining only if the temperature is above 27F. Gyms @ 25% capacity or limited to 100 persons in larger gyms. Gatherings limited to 2 families if indoors, 3…
  • @AnnPT77 now you’re talking. Decadence in a mug.....sigh.....so many calories, and every calorie worth it❤️ As far as Christmas cookies go, all the traditional ones we bake are lifelong favorites, but if I had to pick one, it would be spritz. The original Fantasy Fudge is my favorite candy.
  • Eat less calories than your body burns Move more Patience
  • I cut way back on baking this year. In past years, we’ve baked tons of cookies & candy, to give away. We weren’t/aren’t sure if it’s approved to give home baked/cooked food because of covid. So, we just aren’t doing it this year🥲 Here’s to a better 2021🍷
  • I don’t know what it is about laundromats. My daughter says there are a lot of unmasked people there when she goes too. As far as cough drops go, my mother and husband have them all the time. I guess it helps with dry mouth issues. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • Somethings wrong. Even people on My 600 pound life, who lost a lot in the first month, don’t lose that much.
  • My daughter is a millennial. A 2007 college graduate. Found a job 3 months after graduation in her field, community health. Been there ever since. She lived with us about 7 months after graduation. She’s single, lives alone. Her company has had them working from home for 3 years now. It’s been a lonely life for her during…
  • Smoked turkey sausage, wrapped in bacon, tray bake with onions, carrots and fingerling potatoes.
  • I love the smell of it cooking too. My mom cooked it in bacon grease. My dad and one sister were the only ones in the family that would eat it though. I can’t get past the texture. Love pate and braunschweiger🤷🏻‍♀️
  • Stay at a calorie deficit & move more, if possible. It’s a simple concept, but takes effort. Monitor macros.
  • My husband works out in our living room too. He’s impossible to buy for. One of the two presents he really liked and uses several times per week is a bench. The other present he liked, was his iPhone.
  • @Chef_Barbell I heard they are arriving in all 50 states today. There are more roads in the US, than any other single country in the world. Flat out, an iimpossibility to monitor them all. What has been lacking here this entire time to slow the spread of covid, which other countries have successfully managed to do, is a…
  • I suppose it would be possible to stop people at borders, leaving and entering states, but logistically a nightmare for law enforcement. It’s done in states bordering Canada and Mexico, with varying degrees of success. Minnesota has miles of natural waterway borders, various rivers, and Lake Superior, that we share with…
  • I spread pizza sauce on them, top wit lots of veggies and a sprinkling of cheese and bake. Great pizza, very low calorie. Also like using for breakfast wrap. Scrambled egg, veggies and diced ham. Yummy!
  • True, but, some of our governors are doing their best. There has never been any national policy that has slowed down the spread. It’s apparent how that has worked out.
  • We have bars closed in Minnesota. Wisconsin does not. The metro area of Minneapolis/St. Paul borders Wisconsin. Last week, the mayor of a WI border town closed bars at 10 pm to discourage Minnesotans from traveling to WI to visit their bars. According to the mayor, most patrons arrive after 10. The problems interstate…
  • Same vaccine, differing approval regulations in different countries. Only a few countries have approved it to date. Some countries are taking a wait and see attitude, where the in place policies to limit the spread are working. Unfortunately, it’s dire circumstances in the US. It’s obvious in place recommendations are not…
  • Pfizer vaccine just approved in the US by the FDA.
  • @MikePfirrman I agree. Both states were no mandatory mask edicts. SD ran out of hospital beds and had to send patients to other states. Leadership poor at state and National levels led to these consequences. Still denial.🤷🏻‍♀️ It isn’t a hard decision to make. That’s what medical advisors are for. To advise leadership.…
  • Even if the US does have a bigger impact on the world economy, (and I’m not totally convinced that it does) it doesn’t change the fact that basic preventative measures have never been endorsed at the highest level in the US. Australia isn’t the only country that has this simple measure in place, and it works. The US isn’t…
  • Many US states have restrictions in place. Whether or not their being strictly enforced, is questionable. A handful of US states still don’t have face covering edicts. No need for you to feel guilt. It’s a very important contrast that should be pointed out. It may convince others to come to realize how covid policies can,…
  • They are interviewing medical workers every day here. The plea is unanimous. They know how, and are protecting themselves, on the job, and are doing a fantastic job. There’s just too many covid patients. ICU’s and ER’s are being inundated with covid patients. They are pleading with the public to practice safety measures in…
  • Oak is great once the fire is going. We usually pull dead/fallen trees for burning. My DH is a pretty good lumberjack, but last year he hired a company to cut 2 mature oaks that were dying. May be worth it to have someone do that for your mom. It’s heavy wood, so hard work., but, it’s great for burning and tending the…
  • Weight loss is ALWAYS about eating less calories than your body burns. No matter how it’s packaged or promoted.
  • @glp2323 Congratulations on your success to date. Keep doing what you’re doing to get healthier. It’s an amazing gift to yourself and loved ones👏🏻 Follow the guidelines for what you can do to lessen the likelihood of getting the virus. Face covering, social distancing, hand washing, avoiding social gatherings outside of…
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream whipped with No sugar added 1/2 cup butter melted & cooled 3 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 tsp almond extract 1-3/4 cups flour Beat the eggs, then add the sugar and almond extract and mix well. Blend in the flour, whipped cream, and melted butter with a wooden spoon until smooth. Drop heaping teaspoon onto…
  • Whose misplaced PC? My husband is an essential worker. Six year cancer survivor with a slowly growing cancer at the sight of original cancer that was surgically removed. Being monitored at this time every three months for growth. Untreatable at the moment. I’m well aware of the increased risks for people with existing…
  • I totally agree❤️ And if you want a secondary message to resonate with people, don’t single, one comorbidity out. List them all. There’s a lot of risk factors that can cause severe cases of covid leading to death. Even if there is a high number of deaths among overweight people who have died from covid. It’s not the only…
