  • @PastorVincent awesome job at your races! very inspiring @BruinsGal_91 you know youll never hear the end of that!! lol
  • Yesterday I did 10 miles. I had to postpone my run until the evening because a. scheduling conflicts b. too hot to run in afternoon. I have found that i DO NOT like running at night. I started around 445. The sun was starting to set. 5.5 miles later it was black out. And while the sidewalk are nicely lit and I live in a…
  • @MNLittleFinn thanks. i never would have looked up hiking :p
  • @Elise4270 thanks.. ill check it out :)
  • @rheddmobile thats great that you found a safe and welcoming place to run. Makes the experience so much more enjoyable and gives you something to look forward to :) i live in a great area to run and i love my neighborhood, i just need something besides the hard sidewalks as far as a surface. Question: I am kind of confused…
  • Arms and core work today. My husband walked in on me doing bicep curls with 10 pound weights and said "be careful. you're already pretty defined ;) ." As if Im gonna turn into Arnold Shwarzaneggar (sp). I replied with "welcome to the gun show, baby!" lol Good thing it was an off day for running too cuz i got out of bed and…
  • wait a minute.... people go in water when its 55 degrees???? And live to tell??? The springs here are 72 year round. I wore a wetsuit to swim w manatees and lasted about 15 minutes. The video i posted from the boat after is all shaky cuz I couldnt get my body to stop shivering lol Yall are tougher than me :)
  • @Azercord Isnt that desert home to a pretty awesome observatory?
  • @JessicaMcB My morning was def not as eventful as yours
  • 3 mile recovery run on the treadmill. 100 of 150 miles for the month. @NikolaosKey I wish i had grass or dirt to run on but sadly.. my treadmill runs are my "softer surface" runs. I have PF. I tape my foot/arches often and that really helps. Little ice, lots of stretching and advil. :)
  • Welll.. hes not wrong
  • @rheddmobile welcome. I only joined this past month and there are some great people here. Congrats on your achievements so far. It really is amazing and inspiring!
  • @skippygirlsmom sorry about the job. especially after all the time you put in. I second the thought that perhaps its a blessing in disguise and there is something better around the corner waiting for you. @MNLittleFinn I think i am running a few hills then I see your elevation changes and think.. nope.. lol. A big hill…
  • 15 mile long run this morning. Started out around 65 degrees. Quickly warmed to almost 80. Felt good for the most part. Bottoms of my feet and arches hurt a bit but nothing that slowed me down. There were cops directing traffic to a LaCrosse tournament that i went by 3 times. By the 3rd time they def looked at me like i…
  • @girlinahat Hubby golfed this morning. They told him runners can use cart paths early am before first tee time and at nt when golfers are finished but by no means ever to run on the green. Which sucks cuz the greens are such a soft forgiving surface. Lol.
  • Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. Rest day for me so ill just live vicariously through all’a’yall today
  • Im with you on the ugly toes. My husband wont come near my feet.. even before i was a runner (i was also a ballet dancer so i think i just like ruining my feet. Lol) Im also with u on the red or purple hair. Lol. Been a redhead forever and went purple this last year. Just dyed it a deep violet but went a little too deep so…
  • @_nikkiwolf_ great you got outside and felt good. hopefully you remember that run the next time you are talking yourself out of a run :) @JessicaMcB wow!! More power to you girl, im cold just thinking about temps like that!!Good luck on your race. No moose down here in fl, but I have seen a few gators while out and about.…
  • @bjderhak that could be golfers who wear a GPS watch to track their distance while golfing. Or perhaps they allow cross country teams to run there? I think the high school CC teams around here run on golf courses. @skippygirlsmom would know more about that than I would.[/quote] could be golfers. the local schools here…
  • @7lenny7 just checked the new strava site. I see that in my neighborhood A LOT of people seem to be running through the golf courses..lol.. I always assumed this was frowned upon, however, it would be the closest thing to a trail run in my area. Probably have to either get up really early or run late, i guess if everyone…
  • @MNLittleFinn i schedule upper body and core work on rest days so my legs are still resting but at least im doing something. otherwise.. yes i may in fact go crazy. also, i think my husband doesnt know what to do with me in the mornings when im not out on a run. lol
  • 4 mile easy run today. 77/150 for the month. I def couldve done more and wanted to but Im sticking to the plan. Easy days easy, hard days hard. @HonuNui Glad im not the only one who thinks 70 is chilly. :)
  • 9 miles today. (73 for the month, 150mile goal) 2 mile warm up/easy run. Then intervals consisting of 3 min easy, 3 min moderate, 3 minutes hard, then a 1 min recovery. And ended with a final easy mile. Mile 5 had some rolling hills (florida standards) and mile 6 was a consistent 2% grade uphill so that got pretty intense…
  • @katharmonic Great Photos!
  • @BruinsGal_91 ive seen those charts and they make me laugh. for one.. the highest temp listed in 50f. Which is usually the LOWEST ive ever ran in and in that case i would be wearing running tights, shirt and a pullover or zip up running shirt. Also gloves and a hat. haha Much of the time im in nothing but a sports bra and…
  • @karllundy and @MNLittleFinn and everyone else running in actual winter weather... you are all much stronger than me. lol. Ill keep my Florida winters and cold mornings at 65. You dont even wanna know how I dress when its below 60 :D
  • Running rest day. Did my abs-n-arms circuit. (using my baby 5 and 10 pound dumbbells) I enjoy working my core and arms because I see quick results and definition even tho I am far from being "strong" The benefit of having gangly arms. ahhhhh, that instant gratification, dont we all just love it.. lol @MNLittleFinn…
  • Thanks @MobyCarp In the meantime, here is actual footage of me lifting weights..
  • 4 mile easy run today. 62 miles for the month. Going to add some hill training 1 day a week and be more consistent with strength training my legs as well. When I get tired on runs its always my leg muscles that want to give out before my heart/lungs so I am assuming that means they need to be stronger. Thoughts? Next race:…
  • Congrats to all the racers today!! I ran a 10k race in St Augustine today as well. Was a little disappointed, finished about 2 minutes slower than my goal :( Trying to remind myself that I have been training for a marathon, and the 10k was just for fun. It's still hard not to get competitive with yourself. I havent been…
