Good job!!! I haven't been able to take off my wedding rings for years now. I hope to be able to do so by our tenth wedding anniversary this summer. That sounds funny! But I want to get them cleaned for the first time ever in celebration.

I've gained and lost weight many times gradually getting higher. The reason I let it go so far is because the only way I knew how to lose weight was to starve myself which is very stressful. And recently in the past few years, I've had boat loads of stress, and couldn't tolerate even the thought of adding more. Now that…

Oh my gosh! My husband would loove for me to be like that! I sometimes say he should have gone to a culinary school to meet someone. I'm always kind of afraid to make too many delicious foods because I've always struggled with binging. Maybe someday I'll get over that and knock the socks off my husband with cooking like…

Also no need to eat salads in winter! You can eat whatever you want, as long as it fits your calories. You might need smaller portions, or substitute other foods to make room for whatever you want.

I also stated out with 76 lbs to lose. I've now lost 20lbs, and I've been so cheerful and non stressed because I don't feel deprived at all. It's a huge difference from earlier efforts. The people here really helped me when I wanted to rush the process, by reminding me that previously when I wanted to rush, I would starve…

Ribeye steak 5oz, baked potato 50 gr, Greek salad 3.5 oz, followed by a chocolate chip butterscotch homemade cookie.

I got my first compliment about losing weight from outside my family today!

I weighed myself today, thinking it might be awhile before more weight loss, since I ate over on Sunday, our Christmas. Instead, I've lost a lb and a half, the same rate as I was losing before Christmas. It's really true, one day won't make or break you! It's kind of weird though, I've been eating all my calories and my…

I was able to wrap a towel completely around me today! It is a big towel, but I couldn't do it before, so I'm happy!

Eating more is definitely easier than eating less, however, I personally find maintenance requires more effort than the weight loss phase. It's not exciting to see the scale stay the same; it's years later and no one compliments your accomplishments; motivation has waned (probably several times lol) but you keep on keeping…

Mine is to keep logging every day and be content with whatever weight comes off. I want to loose weight but not keep myself to a schedule, as I'll get discouraged if I go slower. So yes, the other goal is to end the year weighing less than I do now.

So, we celebrate Christmas two weeks later, being Eastern Orthodox Christians. We fast from meat, dairy and eggs for six weeks before, so Christmas Day is really a feast. After reading the forums, my husband and I decided not to log on Christmas Day, so I ate whatever I wanted, greatly enjoying breaking the fast. But boy,…

I was thinking the other day, how nicely God arranged things, in that we always have Liturgy , which gives us those extra breakfast calories to actually break the fast with afterward!

I am too! Christ is born! Glorify Him! I'm going to eat small portions of everything too. I remember reading one of the saints saying that it's wrong to fast until the feast and then celebrate the feast with gluttony. So, God willing, I will celebrate the feast and break the fast, but with moderation, and not go crazy in…

The difference between alcoholics and overeaters is that recovering alcoholics can and should stop drinking. Overeaters can not give up eating. It's impossible. Instead we have find a balanced and moderate approach to food. Either that or stay overweight. Severe restriction doesn't work, because inevitably, we have a…

When I worked as a RN on cardiac floor with lots of patients with kidney problems, who retain fluid which can cause potentially fatal issues, we always weighed first thing in the morning, after the patient had used the bathroom. The physicians who were closely monitoring weight as a sign of fluid retention, would often…

I don't eat a few hours before going to bed, but that is because my husband reports that if I do eat close to bedtime, I toss and turn like crazy in my sleep, thus interfering with his. He keeps a close eye on me to make sure I don't! It does help keep me from going over my calorie goal!

I have to say, you are really inspiring! I read your thread the first day I started here, and have been wondering how you are doing. You are making wonderful progress! I'm so impressed! You really do have people all over the world cheering for you!!

Today, I hit the last of my three mini goals! I've lost 15+ lbs, passed 190 and am now 189.2, so in the 180s! I'm so happy! Now my next mini goals are reaching 20 lbs lost at 186, then reaching 182, which is what I weighed at a doctor's visit years ago, and always want to be at or lower when I go in for a check-up. Then 25…

I think I eat fairly healthfully, mostly cooking from scratch, but the reason I'm continuing to loose weight is because I have a sweet treat every day. It keeps me going and prevents binging, which is what caused the weight gain in the first place. So my daily dessert is the most important part of my healthy diet. I gained…

Oh my!! I'm so glad you're doing better! That must have been a scary time for you and your loved ones! Thank you so much for your kind offer!

Wow! Congratulations!! What an achievement!

Well, my excuse was that my world was falling to pieces around me, all my worst nightmares werw coming true. I developed situational depression and didn't realize how bad it was. Slowly, I began to learn how to deal with horrible situations that may never go away. Once I realized that it is possible to continue living, and…

Good for you for only being derailed for a month and a half!! For depression, that's zooming back! I'm impressed! It' always taken me many months and sometimes years to get back on track!

So, I just wanted to pop in. I was getting a little discouraged because the weight loss was so much slower. It stayed the same for about 2 weeks. It was a really stressful time on top of that, illness and death in the family. My husband was encouraging me to eat all my calories. He's also using MFP, and lost 10 lbs with…

I just want to say, I am so so sorry for your loss! It's really important to let yourself grieve and find comfort wherever you can. It's so good that you are finding comfort in taking care of yourself!

I reached two of my mini goals! I had a woosh today and lost 1.6 lbs, so I finally hit 190, which means I lost 15 lbs and am almost out of the 190s!
-
I just saw the title of this thread and had to say...but she isn't lost!! I am a twin btw.

Merry Christmas to all! I've been hovering around 14 lbs down for a little while and asked my husband if he thought that I was still making progress even though the scale doesn't really show it. He said that yes, he meant to tell me earlier that my face was looking razor sharp!

I've lost 14 lbs so far by counting calories and getting 10,000 steps most days. I've missed a day or two here or there. You don't have to get an expensive Fitbit. I just use a pedometer from Amazon that was $20. I like the Omron brand as it's small enough to fit in my bra. I wouldn't start out with 10,000 steps if you…
