I wonder if she had undiagnosed borderline breathing issues. Do you remember a few years back, there was a severe flu that was sending people and in particular children, to not just the hospital but the ICU? My niece ended up in the ICU and my son in the hospital with it. It turned out that people and especially children…

My husband is almost a foot taller than I am. We eat the same things, I just eat less, because my caloric needs are way less. For some reason, it’s enjoyable to me to notice how much more he is eating. I guess it’s because he is so much taller so if we are eating the same amounts, it’s obvious that I am really overeating.…

We’re getting together with my parents and my sister’s family. Probably just the one sister’s family, not my other one, whose husband is more concerned about COVID. I plan on baking an apple pie, a pumpkin or sweet potato pie and a pecan pie. I finally found the best recipe for handmade crusts after much searching and…

I used to work as a RN on hospital cardiac floor where the majority of patients had congestive heart failure and or kidney failure. Almost everyone was on strict input output monitoring of fluids. Coffee fluid intake was counted exactly the same as water fluid intake. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of coffee…

Wild persimmons! My friends’dad used to take us out in the woods hunting for them in the fall. The store bought ones just can’t compete with the candy like sweetness of the little wild ones. My sister had a persimmon tree but then she moved, sadly! I need to find another wild tree somewhere!

I’m so impressed you were able to stop mid way through stress eating! That’s no mean achievement!

I am back in the 100s officially again, and this is weighing after eating and drinking! Next mini goal is 4 more lbs down and I’ll be back where I was last fall, although I am more toned now than I was then.

Because what I eat is private. Increasingly, our society has lost a normal sense of privacy. Unless I wish for some reason to broadcast exactly what I eat out to thousands of unknown strangers, what I eat is no one else’s business, as is how I dress, my bowel habits etc. It’s a strange world that expects everyone to be…

Caviar. I’ve tasted the really expensive kinds too. It’s just slimy and gross with little balls that pop squishily in one’s mouth.

Well, it did pass, as this thread was from 2016. I hope everything was fine. It’s so interesting to read old threads and wonder how everything turned out.

My Fitbit. I thank God for it on a daily basis. Without it, I didn’t know how much of a deficit I had, so I had bigger and bigger deficits, which ultimately I couldn’t continue, so I gained it all back. I love losing weight without the constant hunger! Also, a smart phone, so I can use MyFitnessPal on the go. I’m so…

I really want my winter coat to be able to easily zip without it being tight. I think I have about two inches to go around my hips. Unfortunately, that’s the last place I lose weight, so I hope to reach this goal before the end of winter at least!

I’m 201.4 lbs. I really want to get out of the 200s by the end of the month. I’m eating at maintenance for today and tomorrow because I’ve already lost15 lbs and recently have been really tired and hungry. So I think this should help, then back to a deficit. I lost 30 lbs on here 2 years ago, I think I even posted on this…

Most people seeing me would call me extremely traditional, but I sure would not put up with this. It’s extremely rude and selfish of him to deprive you of sleep just so he can enjoy himself exactly when he wants. He’s not interested in doing it at a time that good for you? Then he doesn’t get to enjoy himself at all. By…

The thing is though, is that thousands of people are dying because of the precautions being taken for COVID. What I’m trying to say is that the right thing to do just isn’t so simple. Either way, many, many people die. There is no easy choice. I would like to see an analysis done of the impact the COVID precautions are…

Yes, it is. There are also many people dying because they aren’t able to get the care they need for their chronic diseases because of hospitals closing because of stopping non emergency procedures. It does make me angry when people say it’s all worth it, if it saves one life...one life from COVID that is. Do all the other…

I wish there were more acknowledgement of diseases and conditions that have a far higher risk factor of death during this pandemic. My 94 year old grandmother died alone in a nursing home in the middle of this, not having been able to see her family for 6 weeks. We saw her through the window and talked in the phone, but…

I don't. Dark brown fiberboard circles with denatured dollar store toothpaste in between. You can 100% have my share, and welcome to 'em. 🤣 People do get passionate about their Oreos, though! 😉
Oh my goodness, yes!!! I have never understood the passionate love for Oreos!

Black tea with milk and sugar. Especially now that it’s cold. But I drink it in 100 degrees temps too. My mother always drank multiple cups of “sugar milk tea” and I am a true daughter of my mother! Nothing, nothing shall dislodge it from my hands! The more cups per day, the better! Alas, my calories only allow 2 or at…

Yes. I lost 35 lbs here while using MFP, stopped counting and promptly gained it all back plus more. I’ll be tracking for life. I also last time was constantly in too large a deficit, so I was always so hungry. When life got stressful, I couldn’t deal with the constant hunger on top of everything else, so I stopped…

I set my activity level to not very active, so I have to get up and move throughout the day to earn more calories than 1230. It’s really motivating when I look at my calories and only have a couple hundred left. Then I get busy and usually earn more than I planned! I know from experience that if I set my activity to…

I have to clarify; if I have 250 extra calories, would I use them on nuts or soda? No way, because I wouldn’t enjoy those foods as much as say, a chocolate covered caramel. But all baked goods are worth every calorie. It’s worth skipping breakfast so I can use spend those calories on pie, or something like that. I…

I wouldn’t do anything unless they ask you to. It would be insulting and condescending, unless there is some dementia.

Continuing the bad habits seems to be easier, but losing the weight will be more rewarding.
Very true!

I also have about 65 lbs to lose. I’ve lost about 13 already. What helps me to keep going, when those thoughts start to swirl, is to look at myself and think “You can either continue to eat the way you were and continue to look and feel the way you are, or you can change the way you eat, and thus, look and feel. But you…

The best thing for me has been making sure that I eat something sweet every single day. That way, when I am confronted with something, I am reminded that I eat treats every day and so I don’t need to feel deprived. It really works for me.

I just look at the range of entries and find the one with the highest calorie count and go with that. It’s working so far for me.

I have a major sweet tooth, but don’t like s’mores. They’re just much too sweet.

I hope you continue to post even if there was a blip in the road! You have an engaging way of writing, and interesting ideas for exercise! You helped me get inspired to keep moving, though only walking, not running yet.
