@loonyhiker - that sounds like the no-good-miserable weekend. :( I'm sorry to hear about the treadmill, but it seems like you have a great plan AND you flexed with it immediately. Way to go! @13ecca4 - hi! nice to e-meet you I had a meeting in the city today, so I took advantage of the local tourist opportunity and walked…

I want to join, but I've been struggling to come up with a goal. I think for February I need to work towards remembering that my value is not determined by my job. So my goals are: - Speak to someone (voice to voice - texting doesn't count for me) about something that is not work-related each day this month - Practice…

No local tourism - it's pouring here. But I do have a picture of the rainbow that hung out for a bit this morning for all of us to enjoy. Have a great week, everyone!

This was my go-to-fast-food-meal when I lost 75 lbs the first time. It's a bummer I'm now working on losing the 75 lbs (+another 10) for a second time, but it's helped me get 25 off so far. I buy boneless/skinless chicken thighs at Costco and marinate them for 30-60 minutes in different spices and yogurt, wine, juice,…

yogurt, zaatar, love - my favorite. If it's too thick, add little lemon juice. You can also vary the type of yogurt to change the thickness.

Update: just tried on clothes I haven't worn since 2015 ... and I now have a few more shirts and sweaters added back into the rotation!! Woot woot woot. OK - now I'm off to the rowing machine.

@kimmie373  @loonyhiker I've never heard that - I have some chicken I made with baharat and lemon in the freezer. I'll pull that out for the week. Thanks for the advice. I also love the idea of posting photos - good inspiration! @tiff0277 have you seen the memes that January has been a long year? I feel ya So far…

Hi Everyone, So some goods and not-so-goods. I'm thrilled that despite not being able to walk for half the month, I still lost 9.3 pounds which is just under 3% of my body weight. I took a mental health day and skipped work today. I just went for a 3 mile walk - the first real walk in a month. It was great! On the…

@loonyhiker pumpkin seeds are a great idea! I teach history and ethics. I'm also the dean of students so I try to teach them to not break too many rules. ;) @tiff0277 this is a really supportive group. I'm glad you found us and we're all glad you're here! @msarobix where did you find an e-bullet journal? I would love to…

@msarobix ugh - I feel your pain. There is a local coffee joint that has the best tasting coffee drinks, but every time I have one, I am ill. I used to write it off to other things, now I know it's the sugar, cream, caffeine mix. It seeks out my comfort, twists it up, and laughs while I lie on the bathroom floor with the…

That is so frustrating! Hang in there, it will work. There is a ton of great advice here. I totally agree: doctor and nutritionist is the way to go. You had asked about what we do. I lost 70 pounds and kept it off for a number of years. I'm back at it because severe depression and the associated self-abuse packed it all…

Hi Everyone. I'm joining in today, but have my numbers from 1/1/19. I'm weighing in on Sundays. My goal is to get below 200 lbs for my birthday (2/10, and also a Sunday) as well as lose the 30 by 3/31. So far: 1/1 213.8 1/6 209 (love that first week) 1/13 208.9 1/20 204.6 (there must have been a salt issue last week) TOTAL…

@loonyhiker you got this! I managed jumping jacks today. I am so excited. The one up side to an injury is the gratitude when it's healed. I've been getting work done at home today. Each time my watch tells me to stand, I do some strength training (31 day lunge/squat/push up challenge) or cardio. It's been great. I'm…

Hi Everyone, I'm still healing, but able to walk further each day. I'm up to about 6000 steps today which is AMAZING! Just a week ago 2000 steps felled me. This is the first day I have closed my move circle, and I even managed to shop at a grocery store pain-free. Woot woot! I've been really careful about my food since I…

Hi Everyone! I can walk again! Only for short bits, but I am so grateful for each normal step. I celebrated by going to Trader Joe's - 2 days in a row. Then I continued the celebration by cleaning my house and cooking up a bunch of healthy meals for the week. I'm working to do all the things my doctor told me to do, and…

@BackInSoFL great idea! If I can’t use a rowing machine, I can rent a canoe or kayak and go out on the Bay!!! Hadn’t even thought of that! Thank you. @KeriA I’d love to be in the water. Chlorine and I are not good friends, so I can’t use our local pools. @msarobix thank you for the offer. I may reach out. For now I’m doing…

So, I'm going to have to change up my goals. I was on a great track for the first three days of January, then my foot started aching. I thought I had an over-use injury, and I rested, iced, and planned which races I'd sign up for. My foot got worse! I got some bad news from the doctor, and it seems that there is…

I have a mixed relationship with my apple watch - it didn't register two hours of my standing yesterday. I should have closed all my circles. I was standing for at least 10 minutes of those 2 hours. Really. I jumped up and down and glared at the watch, but nothing. I know in my mind and soul, I closed those circles, but…

I am so glad I found this challenge! I'm in, too! This seems like such a supportive and wonderful group of people. Thank you, Tina, for pulling us together and getting us started. My goals for 2019: - move around every hour (no more sitting still for hours!) - journal regularly - exercise 3-5 days a week (including my PT,…

:( Still can't exercise. Medical tests are starting to come back, so I'm hopeful there will be answers. This is my 4th pass day, but I'm going to keep updating. While I can't exercise, I can still be accountable for my calories and logging. I'm hopeful that I can walk tomorrow or this weekend! yes to logging yes to calories
-
yes to logging and calories no to exercise per doctor's orders. :( medical tests under way. This makes pass day 3.
-
yes x3
-
yes x3 - I'm still recovering from being sick, so my exercise was pretty gentle, but it feels like the right exertion for where I am. Lots of walking around the school, and used my standing desk exclusively. Stretches this morning and will do again before bed.
-
exercise - YES! Coming back from being really sick, so a nice gentle walk with the family poodle. The poodle covered about 3 more miles than I did by running in circles around us ... but she can log her own info. calories - yes logging - yes AND lots of food prep for the week is in process. Feeling good.
-
second pass day - was definitely sick the last couple days. I thought it was the flu, but I'm almost feeling like myself after a couple days. So, I'm feeling optimistic that I'll be back to my usual self by the morning.

Yes x3 25 minutes rapid walking around campus and getting my feet checked for new running shoes!
