  • I make my own dairy free chocolate ice cream that is A-mazing, coconut flour chocolate brownies, peanut butter chocolate chip brownies and my own sugar free chocolate with cocoa butter. There's a gazillion keto chocolate recipes on Pinterest for whatever your heart desires.
  • Looking for substitutes? One word for you.... Pintrest. There is literally a substitute for almost anything you have a craving for. Only downside is you will have to shop for the ingredients and prepare it yourself. What are some examples of foods you crave?
  • Manual removal is no fun... that being said keeping up on water intake and nevah, evah forgetting my magnesium supplements is something I strive to do daily.
  • Just say no. Works for me. I do alot of surfing for keto recipes to satisfy my sweet cravings....ALOT. If I endulge it's always with calories, Nevah, evah with "real" sugar. I always tell myself. Why on Earth would I cheat when I can eat 3000 calories and not put on weight. I also never want to have metabolic issues again.…
  • One word... Pinterest That being said a measuring cup of sugar free peanut butter is my go to if I don't feel like making something.
  • What's breakfast. I find if I workout in a fasted state I have both more energy and stamina. The only time I eat breakfast is on the weekend, it's a treat for me on lazy days when I have the time and patience to make something I really want 😊
  • I use it in my favorite psyllium bread recipe, or add it to bone broth ( it helps draw out nutrients from the bones) and as a starter when I make my pro-biotic, naturally fermented home made saurkraut. I also drink it diluted in water (and tell myself it's lemonade) when I notice alot of hard tartar buildup on my teeth as…
  • There is 9 episodes with bonus interviews on each segment. It's free to watch all episodes until around dinnertime Sunday.
  • If you know very little about nutrition I found many areas of the series profoundly educational on nutrition and how the body processes food. Naomi covered many angles and many points of view from some very educated people and of course there are some that are a bit "out there" with hints about the products, books and…
  • Definitely clothes say more, and sooner than the scale for me. The bra especially. The width keeps getting smaller and smaller until I have to buy a new one to keep those puppies contained
  • My nemisis is peanut butter. If I don't put my portion in a measuring container things get ugly.
  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't eaten had a high carb day for more than a year now. Don't think I will indulge any time soon after reading this post.
  • I supplement a variety of things for various reasons. Most significant for me are magnesium because if I don't "manual removal" of stools becomes a painful issue and pottasium citrate to offset the crystals in my urine to prevent kidney stones. Probiotics are also something I consume daily but I don't take a $5 pill. I…
  • I buy ALL my clothes at thrift stores. It helps that I work within a 3 block radius of 4 different thrift stores. I find the alot of beautiful stuff, including designer clothes frequently. A co-worker that used to work for a designer clothing manufacturer in Montreal is constantly blown away at what I find and I get…
  • If your sleep apnea is complicated you should also be seeing a sleep specialist physician in conjunction with your respiratory therapist at least once a year. The sleep specialist would recommend the best method of retesting for you based on your history and download information. In-lab testing can also be done with or…
  • I work in a sleep clinic and have seen several patients lose significant weight. Retesting with a level 3 take home device is a good idea. Sometimes with weight loss sleep apnea improves, or resolves completely.
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness can be caused by sleep apnea. Might be worthwhile to do a take home sleep study. I hope you find out what is causing the fatigue
  • On October 3, 2016, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Yoshinori Ohsumi for “discoveries of the mechanisms for autophagy." I don't imagine they give those out for fads 😉. His lecture on the subject however was a snoozer. Wayyyy to sciencey for me.
  • Thanks for the links  . I have been keto for a year now, lost over 60 pounds and wanted to "ramp it up" for the last leg of my weight loss journey. The benefits of Autophagy is my primary goal. I am over 50 and I want to do all I can for some of the loose skin while my body is adjusting to the lost weight.
  • I am wearing a skirt today ( I hadn't worn a skirt in 30 yrs until I lost weight). No (to anything I know I shouldn't be eating) I need to ride my stationary bike tonight (never voluntarily exercised a day of my life before I started my diet) Those are my 3 Biggie's. Of course I have many more 😉
  • First 20 took about 2 months. The next 40 + took the remainder of the year. Just over 20 to my goal now.
  • I was obese and 90 pounds overweight. The sideways down the hall stopped after I lost 50. I am now down 60 with 30 more to reach my goal.
  • Absoultey YES. first thing I noticed was after losing 50 people stopped going sideways and avoiding eye contact passing me in the hall in my office building (I always walk straight forward). I am also no longer "invisible" in stores or in public like I used to be. People and staff will actually approach, talk to and help…
  • I make dairy free, low calorie Ice cream all...the..darn...time and it's freeking wonderful! First, before we begin let me tell you all coconut cream is NOT created equal. Earth's choice coconut cream is the absoulte BEST for ice cream with literally NO coconut aftertaste. It contains guar gum which makes ice cream extra…
  • Yes that's the link above. Sorry I didn't look at this thread again until tonight. I personally don't like the funky flavor of extra virgin olive oil so I use the light tasteing one. The recipe doesn't work with vegetable oil (too dry). You have to make it with a thick oil for moist cakes. Also great with hazelnut,…
  • Can you say olive oil pound cake... It's marvelous and uses coconut flour. Also very low carb if you turn it into a dozen giant muffins.
