Sunday morning check-in. The last week has been crazy busy and stressful, so I decided to post here before getting all wrapped up in my way too long Sunday to-do list. Sundays are normally my R&R day, with about an hour of cooking and meal prep for the coming week. However, since I had back to back zoom meetings Friday and…

WOW!!! You guys are the chattiest bunch I've ever come across on MFP. Is this a beginning of the month thing, or do you keep it up throughout the whole month? Tonight's date night, so I'm just checking in while my boyfriend cooks dinner. It's been a stressful and tiring couple of days, so I am being proactive about NOT…

@Megan_smartiepants1970 @AustinRuadhain Thank you for the add and the warm welcome! I’m excited to be here. A little about me: I’m 53 and live in Upstate New York with my boyfriend and our sweet, dumb as a rock cat, Emma. I work more than I should at a job that I love, and am trying to find out how that whole work-life…

@mhadley11 I’m 60 lbs down on a (probably) 200 lb total weight loss journey. It’s taken me 18 months to get here, but it feels real in a way that weight loss in the past never did. I’ve done it by adopting one new healthy habit at a time. Sometimes I add a healthy habit and it clicks, so I add another one a week or two…

I’ve lost over 60 lbs in the last year and a half and have another 100 lbs + to go. Haven’t set a final goal yet, since I would rather reach a higher weight that’s sustainable to me, than a low weight that isn’t, but I’m probably aiming for around 180-200 lbs total. Feel free to add me. I’m doing this mostly through making…

I’m so lucky, this is just a few miles from home, it’s a bike/hike trail right along the Hudson River. They’re building a new pedestrian lane on the closest overpass, so as soon as they open that up, I’ll probably do most of my walking On the trail, since I can get there without hopping in the car 😁

Have you thought if seeing a doctor? What you describe isn’t a thing. It sounds more like you’ve may be experiencing the symptoms of GERD - possibly as a result of gaining weight (I am NOT a doctor, so obviously take what I have to say with a grain of salt). While reflux can lead to bad breath, and the excess acids in your…

I have trouble getting my heart rate up when I walk - even when I do hills and steps. I’m having to really crank up the intensity to get the effect of just walking on a flat surface when I was at my heaviest weight.

New here! 53 and feeling every damn year! Way behind on chores and laundry, so that’s going to be my day today. Haven’t opened my personal email in two weeks, so that’ll need digging through as well. Made a decision to prioritize my health and wellness this past week, and managed to stay on track there. Normally I get my…

Oh, hon, I'm sorry that this is causing such sadness and frustration for you. That you're here, motivated to change, and reaching out to others is a HUGE step. I'm 53 years old and 5'4" with ~ 140 lbs more to lose. I've lost ~ 60 lbs and it's taken me a year and a half so far. I'm changing my life one habit at a time, and…

I am doing the Gourdy's virtual 5K on Halloween. My goal is to finish in under an hour. Not sure if it's even possible, but that's what goals are for, right? I did a 5K at the beginning of October in 1:04:59. I have a bad back and ankles, and am very overweight, so I mostly walk, with a teeny-tiny amount of jogging. My…
