Mine is set at 760. Usually the watch wants to set it higher, but I find it hard to reach it at the weekends, or on days when I don't go to the gym for some reason, so I keep it round there. My record was 1223 calories in a day :o (No idea what I did that particular day to go so high) I'm 1,58 m, 61 kg. Trying to lose the…

What I do: when I know it will be a long walk, out of my regular walking, I start a workout in the apple watch. For example, this morning I had to walk 4km to work (due to a public transport strike). As this is not something I do everyday, I started a workout in the apple watch so I would be credited with the calories I…

I agree! I'm a high school teacher as well, and I've have the same group (of teens with learning difficulties) for two years in a row. One day, they told me they had been commenting that I look much thinner this year - and that it suits me! Best compliment ever!

If you want to really make it special, why don't come to Europe? It's really different from the US, each country (even area) has its own "personality" so you can choose or even mix and compare. If you are worried about transport, all of Western Europe has good public transport -of course, it 's better in and from bigger…

I arrived to the gym early for my zumba class and, instead of just wait for it playing on my mobile or chatting, I used an elliptical machine. It was only 10 minutes, but a year ago I wouldn't even have dreamt of doing it.

That is soooooo true. Some of my relatives and coworkers have asked me what I did, and some went as far as to download the app. But, apparently, weighing / portioning your food is "too much work", so none of them lasted a week. Or course, they haven't lost a gram.

One of my colleagues had the contrary situation. She was pregnant and nobody noticed... and suddenly we learnt she was on maternity leave. She hadn't told anyone about her pregnancy because she had had various miscarriages, and assumed nobody commented just in case she miscarried again and the situation got awkward. The…

I chew gum. That way, I've got something sweet (but sugar free) in my mouth and the minty flavour is strong enough that I'm no tempted to eat anything else.

I went to buy new clothes for the gym. I went to this shop with really good prices, and bought two tshirts, and two leggins, all in size M. My NSV is that a year ago I also went there, but couldn't buy a thing - their biggest size is XXL, and it was too small for me!!!!

In my gym, there was a lady who came in about 5 minutes before the class I take. She would sit on a changing room bench, take a book out of her bag, and read placidly for about 45 minutes (the lenght of the class). When people started coming back after the class, she put the book back in the bag, had a shower and left.…

I go to Zumba and (sometimes) body combat classes. I like th fact that the schedule is set, I have to be there at a particular time, so I go (if I can go any time I want and work on my own, I never do...) Also, the instructors are important. I usually go to the gym in the afternoon after work. The instructors are fun,…

May you be putting too much emphasis on your weight loss, so that she has picked up on it, and that's why she wants to lose some pounds? I teach teens, and have noticed that some of them, specially girls, want to go on a diet when their mum is losing weight. Mum feels beautiful, everyone congratulates her about her new…

I teach teenagers... and the holidays end today :'( :'(

I drink milk and coffee for breakfast, and a cup of black coffee after lunch. Both caffeinated, and strong. (Spanish coffee is similar to Italian coffee, very strong, served in a tiny cup.)

The ideal thing would be both, as previous posters mentioned. However, you have to find the exercise YOU like. In my case, I can't stand weight training. It bores me, so I keep finding excuses not to do it. So I've decided to focus on cardio (zumba, body combat and swimming now and then), which I enjoy. I think it's better…

Apparently they also have cricket energy bars... so your dinner party can be complete ;)
-
I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen pasta made with cricket flour in the supermarket.

I used a fitbit charge 2 for 10 months, and it was pretty accurate - I eat all my exercise calories back and the weight lose was spot on. Then I switched to an apple watch 4, and the estimation is very similar to that of the fitbit, so I'm also trusting it. My weight is behaving as expected, even during these days (I've…

Can you chew gum in your job? If you are chewing sugar-free gum, the mere fact of chewing and the flavour in your mouth might stop you eating other snacks.

It totally depends on location. I'm in Spain, our supermarkets carry some things you can hardly find in American ones, but we can't find anywhere some things which are fairly common in the States... As a side note, real paella has got rabbit in it. If they try to give you a dish without rabbit-and chicken-, this is not…

Every supermarket here carries these kinds of meat... they are not unusual at all for us.
-
Here, horse meat is not unusual. No the most usual, but we get it now and again. It can be found in any supermarket... as can rabbit meat and sheep testicles.

Baby shampoo. I'm curly and I like shampoos without sulphates or silicones, and I've discovered that baby shampoo doesn't have these ingredients, and works as well as any other, more expensive sulphate-free shampoo. I don't use conditioner everyday, bt when I do, I use the tresemme coconut and aloe one -same reason, it's…

Have you had your eyesight tested recently? Sometimes when you have a sight problem, even a minor one, your eyes have to "work harder" than usual to compensate for it, and it leads to you being tired for all this extra effort you aren't even noticing.

My gym classes are in my phone's calendar, and I've got alarms reminding me to go. So I do. I just treat them as I would any other appointment in my calendar.

Body Combat videos. I love Body Combat con Mauro, they're in Spanish but you don't really need to listen/understand what he's saying, just copy his movements (in fact, half the time you can't even make out what he's saying, the music is louder than his voice...)

For two days in a row, I'm in the normal BMI range - at the very top, but for me it is a NSV. I started out nearly a year ago as obese, and I never though I'd be in the "normal" range. In fact, my first goal was to move to "overweight".

In Spain we usually have a name and two last names (2 last names are required by law, one comes from your father, the other from your mother). It’s not common to give your kid a middle name, and when you do you usually call him/her by the two names, as if they were only one. But lots of people who were born during the…

Ufortunately, it is :s I don't buy second hand clothes, but donate my old, too big ones to a charity shop. Last time I was there, there was an underwear section :/
