This is the philosophy I have taken this time around, and it really has been life changing. For the first time in my 15 years of doing exercising videos, tomorrow I will complete an official six week rotation of one of my favorite instructor's videos. I have never had the ability in the past to complete a rotation because…

Breaking into the 140s for the first time since before I was pregnant with my son. Two pounds to go!
-
Two NSVs - Went clothes shopping for the first time in over a year - down from large tops to mediums, and down a pants size :-) But the bigger NSV - six straight months (180 days) of logging my food on MFP! The last time I counted calories 12 years ago, I dropped weight way too quickly, hit my goal weight, and immediately…

For me, logging on days that I go over is extremely important because (1) I need to know what I did wrong when the weight is not coming off, and (2) 95% of the time, it makes me feel better, not worse, because it is not as bad as I imagined it was!

5'3" SW - 170 (Dec. 27, 2017) CW -152.5 GW - 142 (total 28 lb loss, and maybe a few more from there - we'll see when I get there!) So far so good - been going very, very slowly, celebrating each mini-goal along the way. I have incorporated a half hour of exercise 6 days a week (3 days cardio, 3 days strength) plus 15…

One stinking pound until I hit my fourth mini-goal!! Also, I want to make it through an official video workout rotation for the first time in my life - three weeks away from that!

For the first time in two years, I am satisfied with the way I look. Even if I never drop another pound, I can live with the progress I have made, both in terms of fitness attained and weight loss. I do still want to drop ten more pounds to get into the normal BMI range and to lighten the load on my arthritic ankle, but I…

This is me, except I am 4 months ahead of you. Let me tell you, 16 short weeks from now, if you keep up at that pace, your total loss will be 21 lbs, and it is significant! You're doing great! And to dovetail on this, my biggest challenge has been just trusting the process and trusting that slow and steady is the way to…

This. Do not ignore it. I did, and I now have a permanent achilles injury and I will never run again (unless I’m being chased by something!)

As of today, I have logged every single bite of food I have had for 150 days!!!

I have been doing Jessica Smith exclusively for six months. I have NEVER been able to just use one instructor/trainer without wanting to drop kick them by week 3. Part of it is her personality, like you said, no ego, and she is utterly charming. But also, I just really like how she focuses on listening to and taking care…

I know exactly where you are at. I was a runner at one point. I never will be again, due to a permanent ankle injury. Part of what has helped me cope with that realization is that there is still so much I CAN do, and that these things are blessings. Even just the fact that I can get up in the morning relatively pain free…

Jessica Smith is an EXCELLENT place to start with workout videos, especially since you can progress with almost all of her videos as your fitness increases. I agree - focus on keeping the movement going, and less about staying with her - you don't get more fit by learning dance moves; you do it by just moving. Some of the…

So much YESSS!! Thanks for the tips on these - I had NO IDEA that these even existed.
-
That's a great idea! Never tried that, but I'm going to now

1. 16 lbs. 2. 5 months (taking it really slow so that I don't get hangry, lol) 3. Not there yet - I have 14 lbs to go. 4. Patience - trusting the process.

Tapping my foot impatiently while I wait for the scale to drop again . . . until then, looking for NSVs! When I started back in December, I had to snap my sports bras around my waist, and then inch the thing up over my shoulders. In March, I was finally able to hook it behind my back without doing gymnastics. Yesterday, I…

This all may be true, but you have to be patient and let the process work. You probably did not put the weight on in a single month - it's not going to come off in a single month (it probably takes twice as long to take it off!) I had similar stats at the beginning of the year, and I am down 16 lbs. now 5 months into the…

How are you measuring your food? How long have you been eating in a deficit? How much do you have to lose? No, one's metabolism does not "conserve" body weight by eating too few calories.
-
You look amazing! The success you have seen - is REAL. It is a fact that you are down 135 lbs. It is undeniable that you are fitting into far smaller sizes than you did at 311 lbs. Do not doubt these facts. You did that; you earned the right to be proud and giddy and over the moon. CONGRATULATIONS!

For the first time in a long time, I was able to pick out a dress for a cocktail party tonight and not have to worry about whether it will fit!
-
Scale hasn't budged in a while, but my pants are getting so loose that when it does - even a little bit - I know I am going to need to buy some new clothes!
-
I hadn't even thought of the NSVs associated with our families! Thanks for showing me that I need to think outside of myself a little bit . . . So on that note, my six-year-old son has been joining me for my workouts in my home gym in the basement. He has his own little sets of dumbells, and we like to workout to Jessica…

Logged every bite every single day for 122 days so far! The good, the bad and the ugly; pleased to say that there have only been two or three ugly days in there, and (1) they really weren’t that ugly in retrospect, and (2) I didn’t let those days derail me.
-
It is movement, and all movement counts - you don't have to beat the crap out of yourself to lose weight. I am only trying to lose 30 lbs, and I managed to bust through 14 of them in 4 months by just walking and counting calories.
-
You look radiant!! Congratulations, and keep it up!

All of my NSVs lately are clothes related, lol. NSV #1 - Put on a pair of slacks today that I haven't worn since the fall - I was really stretching the limits of how strong the seams were then. They were SUPER tight then. And I believe that I likely didn't fit into them at all come December, but I don't know because I…

I really feel for you - being a new mom with additional life circumstance stressors is incredibly difficult (been there, done that). One thing that helped me during that time was to not focus on my weight at all. I just did not have the mental bandwidth to deal with it. Instead, I focused on eating food that would give me…

I have hit three weight-related mini goals since January - the next is to get from 157 to 152. Five pounds at a time here!
-
What a great revelation! I too have come to that point - we cannot keep beating up our bodies and expect to maintain those behaviors long term. You are doing great! My NSV - today I accidentally put on the jeans that were my wake-up call in December. I had not planned on trying them on again until mid-summer - they are the…
