  • No snippieness or sarcasm was intended. I was sincerely asking what method you have had success with. You seemed to speak with some authority on the matter and I wanted to know what worked for you. I cited Charles Poloquin because I am a strength athlete and he is very respected in the strength world and was a very…
  • Well it took me three years to drop twenty pounds and in that time I lost it and gained it back two or three times using carb loading, keto, Atkins, watching my macro's etc. I researched IF after listening to Charles Poloquin speak on the subject, and after speaking to my doctor and his reasoning of not consuming…
  • It was thelandkraken that mentioned eating dinner at 5:00, my response was to him/her. I am not suggesting everyone eat at 5:00. I do not myself. I don't get home from work until 6:30. You may be right about it not mattering. I won't argue with you because I don't know with any degree of certainty, but my doctor thinks it…
  • I guess it's not for you then. I find it very practical and it works for me. I eat less than 1850 calories between noon and 8:00 pm. I'm rarely hungry, my weight has gone from 295 to 245 and with IF I can keep the weight off. On other programs I lose weight and gain it right back. I'm not suggesting it is for everyone.…
  • I agree that it's all about calories. For me it's easier to stay below 1900 calories if I eat all of my meals between noon and 8:00 pm. I'm less hungry that way and less likely to want to snack. I find going to bed earlier helps as well. If I wait until 9:30 to eat dinner, I'm so hungry I tend to overeat. Eating by 6:30 or…
  • I'm no expert on the matter. My doctor recommended eating earlier and it has worked well for me. I don't eat at 5:00 either, I mentioned 5:00 as a mealtime in response to another person who mentioned they always ate by 5:00. I have dropped 30 lbs on an IF diet, I try to get my last meal in by 7:30 or 8 but the sooner the…
  • What I meant was if you eat your last meal by 5:00 pm you will get better results than someone who eats later at night. Eating too close to bed time is not good for weight loss. The earlier you take your last meal the better. Or so I've been told, but it makes sense.
  • Twice I went through periods of unexplained weight loss where I lost 20 lbs for no apparent reason. I finally figured out I had been doing an IF diet without realizing it. Due to my work and training schedule I typically didn't eat my last meal until 9:30 or 10:00 pm. But during those periods of weight loss I was not…
  • I can convert fractions to decimals in my head faster than anyone can with a calculator, And, if I practice a bit, I can usually calculate percentages faster in my head, to two decimal points, than most people can with a calculator too.
  • That is so awesome....
  • Broke the 200 mile barrier. On my way to Weathertop.
  • I gained about 90 miles somehow yesterday. Something is amiss.
  • Hey at least your roads are nice. I love Ohio but I live in Michigan, home of the pothole and Mosquito.
  • Ten minutes from Dayton. That could mean Troy or Englewood potentially. I used to go to both of those cities a lot. I'm a Michigander but I do a lot of business in Ohio.
  • I got 22 miles in on Sunday in 13 hours during the Relay for Life walk. Finally made it to Bree.
  • Made it to Tom Bombadills house. Should break the first 100 mile barrier today,
  • I crossed through Crick hollow a couple days ago. On to Old man Willow.
  • I hope they work well for you. They look easy but they are pretty intense.

  • My wife has walked 35 miles in a day on a few different occasions. She is a machine. Best I have ever done is 14 1/2. And that was brutal for me. I weighed about 285 at the time.
  • At least once a day. I spent two weeks in the mountains once with three other guys in an old army tent, I had one "bath" during that time which consisted of a half full, 16 oz, ice cold bottle of water. I was able to wash my hair and shave with 8 oz of water. I can tell you from experience that you get pretty gamey after…
  • How many total miles have you walked so far?
  • Your welcome.
  • Good numbers. I have lifted alone most of my life. Training partners are nice but they come and go. At the end of the day, it's you, the iron, and your addiction to lifting. Nice work.
  • I need to drop 25 pounds by the end of July to qualify in a lower weight class. Count me in.
  • Thank you, I'll be strolling through Tookland this morning. I don't get as many miles on the weekends as I do during the week, so I should make good progress next week.
  • Your squatting and deadlifting your bodyweight and Benching half your bodyweight. That's a great start. At 105 pounds, your simply not going to be lifting monster weights, but, pound for pound, your doing well. Keep up the good work.
  • Thank you. I won't be hitting any personal bests but I think I can still win the masters division and place in the open class if I can make all of my lifts. It's a National meet though so you never know who is going to show up.
  • Versace Red Jeans Woman is pretty dang sexy too, in my opinion.
  • I'm thinking about doing a meet in a couple of weeks. I haven't competed since last October. I have not been training with anything real heavy and I have lost 30 pounds since then. I did a test week last week to gauge where I am. At 53 years old, and down 30 pounds in body weight, I did a 525 pound squat, 335 bench and…
