Fat will definitely up those calories. Mayonnaise, olive oil, butter. Avocados, nuts. Cream in your coffee (if you are a coffee drinker.) Yum. And chocolate.

Great :/ And, once shared, there is no way to unshare it.

As the scale numbers go down, the amount of effort I have to produce to get the same calorie burn (on my FitBit) goes up.

I don't have cheat meals. I have days when I eat many of my exercise calories (Fri-Sun) and days when I don't eat any of them. (Mon-Thurs)

Yeah, manufacturers change their product information all the time. I have 2 different "generations" of the same protein powder, and the newer container has 4 calories less per serving than the older container. The calorie difference is the only change I can see. In addition, I have come across what appeared to be regional…

These aren't a "new" product, but I just recently discovered how much I love them - raw yellow, red and orange bell peppers. The green ones, not so much raw, but cooked they are great. I also cook with the other 3 colors but they are a great snack raw. So sweet, crisp and juicy. I also purchased 2 (one for work, one for…

Exhaustion? I find when I am tired, my resolve all but disappears. I looked it up, (bear with me, I'm not a scientist and I didn't memorize it, this is what I got from the articles I read) and it seems it is related to an evolutionary survival thing about replenishing reserves for the next "battle". (If you are tired, you…

Looked on WebMD and similar sites - likened it to a balloon. The more it is stretched, the less likely it is to return to its original shape. Oh well, at least I'm healthier now. And for that I am truly grateful. And from what I have seen on "Skin Tight" "That's just the way it is...baby" (shout out to The Rembrandts)

I was wondering lately why I seem to have less collagen in my thighs and abdomen area. Isn't that the stuff that makes skin elastic? Those areas looks like other women's that have lost a lot of weight. Other areas seem to be snapping back with no problem, yet my thighs look like I'm wearing pantyhose loosely packed with…

Thank you all for your insightful and inspiring posts. I feel better about not going full tilt and being gentle with myself for now.

It really does depend on where you live (in the U.S.). I worked in an area that was also a residential area. In walking distance for me (I would walk several miles on my lunch break) there were two fast food places and one convenience store (pre-packaged sandwiches, snack foods etc.) and a little farther away, a bodega…

I budget the 58 calories for my daily coffee fix (Splenda & 1 tbsp of cream). Yum. So good.

Contrary to what others have posted, this is possible. If you are short, female, older and sedentary, it is possible too find your self in this situation. I know this from experience. I lost and gained the same pound over several weeks a few years ago on 600 calories or less a day. (By essentially starving myself, I…

I got a Blaze as a gift and it has helped me tremendously by encouraging me to move more. I think it is pretty accurate, because my BMR as determined by my Fitbit (months of data), MyFitnessPal, and other sites only vary slightly. As far as calories burned, if it is reading lower than what I have actually burned, no…

As others have posted, you are going to have to experiment, to find what works for you. For me, starchy carbs just leave me wanting more, more, more. (I was tested and found out I have some food allergies and sensitivities, so there is the way my body is processing or attempting to process certain foods to consider.) Lean…

I love these responses, thank you!

:D Not all of the articles I read promote this idea, but I see it enough to make me wonder...

I have. But, it doesn't matter. There are other issues I have with the app, and as someone else suggested, I have learned to ignore them.

This. "Ugh, too much trouble to look it up, and then log it. And, I'm not even hungry. Probably just bored." ;)

I am a premium member and I set it to grams on the Goals page, yet it still rises with the increase in calories from exercise. Is there some other place I should be setting it, because it really frustrates me to have to try to get over 112 grams of protein each day just because I am more active that day. 112 is hard enough…

2seska422 & olds88: You both touch on an issue I am also dealing with in other areas of my life: learn to stop stressing on things I have no control over and focus on things I can control. Planning in advance what I will eat on the weekends, the same as I do during the week, since the weekends are where I am having issues…

Thanks all...Phew!

Yes, sadly I do have this problem also. For me, it's because I lose weight from the top down, just as I gain from the bottom up. So, my face, neck and collar bones first show the weight loss, and I get told I need to stop losing weight because I look "gaunt". Short of stripping down and showing them where I am still…

Was able to go without the Sunday trip to the gym (still hiked in the a.m. - I love hiking the trails and running at the gym, just not feeling like I am a hamster on a wheel) by just incorporating a couple of the items in this article. Felt like a big ol' slacker, but remembered the need for balance, and did some window…

Wouldn't it still be predicting my exercise calories? So, I eat what I think I have, and then, OOPS! I'm over. I think it would be far easier on my sanity to just stick to my base calorie goal, and leave the exercise calories alone. No wonder there is so much debate about whether to eat them or not.

Fitbit is set to "Sedentary" and when I lost weight and had MFP recalculate, I set MFP to lightly active, although according to charts, I am "Highly Active". This is the first time this has ever happened and my days start and end at roughly the same time consistently. MyFitnessPal has never, since I started in late…

Just did and they are both still the same.
