I did three months of Noom after losing a bunch of weight with MFP and regaining a lot of it. Pros: the program walks you through why you overeat or eat less nutritious food and asks you to keep in mind the deep WHY you want to lose weight. It uses science to discuss different fad diets and how losing weight affects your…

I save about 100-120 calories for dessert around 8 pm. We usually eat dinner between 5:30 and 6:30 so it's nice to have something planned. My go to desserts are Lindy's Italian Ice, half a Klondike bar or the Yasso greek yogurt salted caramel bars (AMAZING).

Cut your speed if it's painful or hard to complete the intervals without huffing and puffing. Slow is relative and totally normal for a beginner. Check out Jeff Galloway's plans for long term training with lower risk of injury if you want to increase mileage.

I use gels during my run for fuel. I have previously used Jelly Belly sport beans and this year I'm trying Science in Sport isotonic gels. I usually eat a banana pre-run and a gel at miles 3 and 7. Side stitches are just the muscles between your ribs spasming. Try to keep your breathing even and take walk breaks if needed.

I weigh daily since I have daily fluctuations. I tend to stay within a pound of the same weight for days then suddenly drop 1-1.5 lb one day and fluctuate around the new number. Weekly weigh ins were stressful for me because I sometimes missed the drop. I weigh at the same time every day under identical conditions.

Check out Rock N Roll half marathons if you have any cities nearby that host them. Great support on the course and from the organizers.

I had surgery on a herniated disc at L4-5 about a decade ago. My surgeon told me running is the worst possible thing for me to do and suggested swimming. I hate swimming and don't have access to a pool without spending $$$. I took up running with Couch 2 5k about 6 years ago and have run numerous 5k, 10k and half marathon…

I followed his plans for my last two half marathons and it's the only reason I finished. No injuries and you don't have to do crazy mileage.

When I start cutting calories even moderately I tend to drop a LOT of water weight the first couple weeks. Usually 2-2.5 lb. Totally normal.

You need to go to the doctor immediately. People can't help you over the internet for medical problems.

I want to cut my half marathon time down to 2:30 at some point. 2:45 is the goal for this year and I think dropping 20 extra pounds will help. Also just general health and wanting to be a lot fitter than I was at my last terrible job.

Hello Fresh is my least favorite meal service. Blue Apron and Home Chef have delivered consistently better quality recipes and food for me. Don't get me started on Marley Spoon- yuck. HF also likes to use LaserShip so I never even got my last box. Tracking says it's permanently living in New Jersey. Got a refund for that…

I found if I could make vegetables TASTY I would actually crave them. Raw cabbage is awful, but the Blue Apron recipe for sweet chili slaw is easy and low cal so I can fill up on it. Steamed, plain broccoli is gross, but baked with a little lemon juice, salt, pepper and a little sprinkle of parmesan cheese they taste 1000x…

I used to use Body Glide until I discovered Sparkle Skirts. Built in shorts, cute patterns and styles and many pockets! No rubbing and I can carry my phone, pepper spray, keys, and time to without noticing them at all while I'm running.
