Hi everyone! Feel free to friend me! :) My name is Kim, and I have lost a grand total of 125 pounds. I'm always posting ideas, recipes and motivational type stuff.

I like what Ted Allen once said on the original Queer Eye For the Straight Guy series: "you can eat whatever you want, just don't eat so damn much of it." Truer words have never been spoken. If you feel like having a taco and tequila, then have a taco and tequila. Just don't do it all day every day. Tacos and tequila do…

I personally like the Eat The Bear Whey Protein Isolate brand. They have one called Ice Cream Sandwich that is really good, and regular vanilla flavor which I haven't had. Of any brand of protein, I like Eat the Bear the best. It has the best flavor (especially chocolate) and doesn't upset my stomach.

By the way, cooking is actually easier than you think. I was surprised when I began cooking, all the things I thought were so difficult really weren't.

There is a great recipe site: BudgetBytes.com Before I started losing weight, I couldn't cook to save myself. Then I started losing weight and learning how to cook, and this website called Budget Bytes got me started. Easy recipes, healthy and budget friendly.

I sort of do that, but not in a single spot. It's more like pacing back and forth. I find that stepping in place doesn't seem to affect my Fitbit as much.

I'm so glad I started this thread post. All these pictures have not only help keep me motivated but others as well. Everyone, you are all doing wonderful work! Keep it up! "Get fit don't quit!" Believe me when I say that everything you are doing as an individual person living a healthier lifestyle does make a difference in…

Some things I do to relieve stress (that don't involve food): 1.) Journaling 2.) Walking 3.) Coloring 4.) Workout 5.) Planet Fitness massages! 6.) Listening to old records 7.) Venting to a friend or family member. Sometimes its just good to talk it out, and that person can help you put it all into perspective/positive…

Yes! I do this breathing/meditative technique as well when I'm in stressful situations and it does work.

I completely understand your struggle. As a caregiver working two jobs, my time is limited and there are days where things don't go according to plan. One of the biggest culprits of overeating is not eating enough protein early on in the day. In my experience, having a high-protein breakfast has often kept me feeling full…

Hi, and congratulations on the weight loss, that is great.
-
I personally like the Power Crunch protein bars. 200 calories, very low sugar, tasty and doesn't upset my stomach.

I agree with Charlie, it sounds like the gym just isn't your thing. That's okay, there are tons of other ways to get exercise. Walking at the park or around the block, taking dance classes, taking yoga classes... If you have a YMCA nearby, they offer a wide variety of fitness classes. Swimming might be a good option. When…

That is too funny. I love being alone in nature, it's very soothing and calming.

"Fresh fruit is just as bad as eating a candy bar because it's nothing but sugar." Who here has gotten obese because they ate too many apples? Raise your hand. :D

The only thing I bought was a scale to weigh myself on in the bathroom and new sneakers for walking. I was fortunate to win a free Fitbit Zip through work, but other than that and the MFP app, that's all I really need. The Fitbit helps to ensure I am moving around enough throughout the day to prevent being sedentary, and…

Apple cider vinegar is great for weight loss. Sometimes when I've hit a slump with my weight loss, I'll add a tablespoon of ACV to my water to kickstart things again. It really does work, too. ACV helps suppress the appetite, lowers blood sugar levels and keeps everything stable there (no blood sugar spikes), improves…

I am so sorry for your loss, Jenna. My prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Very sorry for your loss, my condolences! <3

(From your article that you mentioned) "Do you know any 75 year-olds that act like they’re 35?" Yes, the Rolling Stones, and more specifically Mick Jagger. I'm a big Stones fan, and Mick actually inspired me to start exercising. He has a very impressive fitness regimen thanks to his dad who was a gym teacher. (there's a…

Yeah, I might just have to do that from now on. Just take a piece to shut them up, take it back to my desk "for later" and trash it. It seems wasteful to me to do this, but in this circumstance I have no choice left.

I can understand people feeling confused about how to go about pursuing weight loss. It can seem like a daunting and overwhelming task when you first set out to pursue a goal. I think the key thing is to take it one day, one small step at a time. "Rome wasn't built in a day" and weight loss doesn't just happen overnight.…
