  • You are so right. Listen, I started at 258 and am down to 239 in 5 weeks. I am aiming for a size 14 or 16 from a size 20 or 2X. I carry my weight pretty well. No one thinks I am the size I am. Thanks for your input.
  • Hi Kia! I have also started this again for the third time. Started Aug 14 and have lost 19 lbs to date. I have given myself 1200 calories a day, drinking lots of water, and no exercise, as I use a mobil chair in the house. Already my knees feel a bit better, so I am encouraged. You look young, so kudos to you for wanting…
  • Oh, boy, after reading your post and your comments about being depressed, I realize I am not alone. I am trying MFP again, as I know it works. I need to stop fooling myself that I look okay when I have my makeup on, good clothes, and my jewelry, and I do feel pretty when I do that and don't think about my weight UNTIL I…
  • I am 5"5" and currently weight 255 lbs. My goal for right now would be 200, and then I'll see how I feel. Ideally, I would like 165 lbs. I am almost 71, in a mobile chair most of the time because of osteoarthritis in both knees. This precludes intense exercise, so I'm not fooling myself.
  • Started today AGAIN! I know that logging in the food diary and staying with the calorie goal works, as I've done it before but fell off the wagon after losing 23 lbs. You look very young, so taking off any unwanted weight is the best thing you can do for yourself. I'm almost 71 and oh how I wish I kept my girlie figure…
  • If you have been trying to lose weight for a while, it could be that your body is just adjusting to your weight. I wouldn't worry, Try a little more exercise, 1-2 lbs/week is weight you won't put back on the minute you enjoy a slice of birthday cake!
  • I try for around 400 calories.
  • Oh, I forgot......I didn't take measurements. I can feel it in my clothes.
  • Congratulations on the birth of your child!!!! 10 lbs is great!!!! That's 35,000 calories that you left behind. Don't be hard on yourself.......you've just gotten through a most important job, and now everything will change!!! Concentrate on taking in enough calories so you stay healthy. Skipping meals will only tempt you…
  • I'm new, too, and have a long journey ahead of me, so I'll be around for a while. I don't know how to friend anyone, but I will say that those years of being a young mom and trying to do everything can be daunting. Now that YOU are your sole source of inspiration, motivation and self-support, don't let food comfort you.…
  • I am 69 and have started ad stopped My Fitness Pal with no real progress to speak of. I have been about 110 lbs overweight for almost 20 years. My knees are now shot and due to other medical conditions, it has been a struggle to find a doctor willing to operate. I finally did find one, but need to lose some weight first.…
  • I started and stopped My Fitness Pal many times, but this time it feels different, and for good reason.....my husband recently suffered heart issues and it hit me that I need to do everything I can to get healthy for myself and my family. I have about 100 lbs to lose, but I am not looking at that number because it would be…
