See I feel like I can balance both. I could lose weight faster by cutting more calories but that would just leave me hungry and feeling deprived. Instead, I eat more (smaller cut in calories) and lose a little slower. To me it is totally worth the trade-off.

I am also extremely picky. Not quite as bad, but nearly. Like suggested, I just eat less of the foods I like and I weigh and measure portions. And I take a daily multivitamin. The scale is moving in the right direction, even without eating extremely healthy and balanced.

I’m a 37 yr old f, 5’4”, 170 lbs. Today my Apple Watch says I burned 151 active calories (208 total) for a 34 min, 2 mile brisk walk today. I have found it to be pretty accurate. Sounds like your Fitbit is underestimating your weightlifting calories instead of overestimating your walking calories.

I always save about 200 cal for my nightly cup of hot tea and bedtime snack. Every single night. It’s the first thing I put in my food diary and plan the rest of the days calories around it.

My Apple Watch seems pretty spot-on. The burn calories it calculates is less than any other app or calculator I have found.

Thank you!

I have your body and same worry. Let’s be friends!

I would go crazy if I weighed every last thing, like a slice of bread. Things like that I scan and log and move on. Now, I do weigh most foods, but not typically not those that are prepackaged or foods like a bagel or slice of bread.

I’ve always felt better with more carbs. I tried to go low-carb a while back and felt terrible. Definitely not for me. Not sure if you read my latest reply, but my shaky, sick feeling went away when I upped my calorie goal to a less aggressive deficit. I’m happy to be feeling better and still able to loose (albeit at a…

I am bumping up my thread to give you all an update. :-) I did as a few of you suggested and temporarily lowered my deficit from TDEE-20% to TDEE-10%. I immediately felt better, and have honestly not had that gnawing, empty feeling again. I am coming up on 2 weeks calorie counting (after falling on and off the wagon…

I really like the averaging the week out and using that number

You can squeeze a lot of food into that 12 hr window, especially considering that you’re asleep most of that “fasting” window. The hours 8 am to 8 pm are the hours I have eaten for years and here I am 50+ lbs overweight. I wouldn’t consider that true fasting.

Hmm. Might be, haven’t kept track but it is nearing. Will definitely pay attention to that. Thanks

Thanks very much for everyone’s times and responses! A lot of to digest (buh dum tss). I have wondered about it being a blood sugar issue. I am one of those people who’s blood sugar tends to plummet (at least by the feels of things) if I don’t keep something in my stomach at all times. I will need to bring it up to my…

I commiserate! How long have you been back on it this time? Does it seem to abate over time?

That’s about what I’m doing only because I keep adding food in the attempt to get the feeling to go away. The past couple days I have been 100+ cal over goal.

Question for daily weighers: say you record a weekly loss every Friday, do you choose the actual weight Friday or the lowest weight of the week? Hope that makes sense.

I just typed a long reply and then it disappeared, so forgive me if this is a repeat. I find that I fall off the wagon when I don’t have enough choices at home. When my groceries are low, or I have the same limited choices day after day. Because of this I am and making sure that I keep my refrigerator and pantry…
