  • @meggers123 Lol! I have been loving all the Bird Box memes lately. I feel you, Friday is always hard for me. My time to unwind and relax. I'm having mocktails tonight - sparkling water, bitters and lime. It's not my wine, but it'll do!
  • @Orphia Thank you so much! My sub-4 attempt was September 2018 and I came in at 3:52! All the happy tears that day. I'm currently training for the Vancouver marathon in May. I love that your first marathon was at 50 and you've since done a 50k - that's amazing! which marathon are you doing this year?
  • So inspiring hearing how Dry January has helped some of you drink way less. @MissMay - You're 2018 stats are amazing! I'm tracking my intake in the Dry January app and am hoping my 2019 stats are a vast improvement over this past year. I also loved the information on page one of this thread, especially loving and taking…
  • Hi All - I'd love to join in, as well! I'm doing Dry January and then hoping to move towards no drinking Sun-Th nights after the end of the month. Aside from the 20 pounds I'd like to lose, I'm also marathon training and have big goals for my race (and alcohol certainly doesn't help with my performance). Thank you so much…
  • That's a really good point. I do log pretty accurately (weighing my food, etc.) but I decided on 1 pound a week because my I use my Garmin for exercises calories and I think it really overestimates how much I'm burning (I mentioned this above, but it gave me an additional 1800 calories this past Saturday which seems really…
  • I've thought of doing the same thing - switching between the two every few weeks. I definitely agree - trial and error!
  • @Tacklewasher - I think I'm going to go with 1 pound a week based on the calories my Garmin gives me. I get SO many additional calories from my Garmin I feel like it's really overestimating (for example, I was given 1800 exercise calories this past Saturday - I was active on Saturday, but that seems really high). So to…
  • @malibu927 @kimny72 - I do 2 strength training sessions a week, about 45 minutes each session. Not sure if that changes anything, but either way, I really appreciate the feedback!
  • Thanks, that's good advice. Yes, yesterday was an active day for me - I ran 6 miles in the morning at a 9min/mile pace, and then went on a 3 mile walk later in the day. Just the 900 and some calories seemed really high, but it was also an active day. I wear the Garmin all day - not just for running.
  • 33 year old female, 5'6, 135 lbs, set to lose .5/week
  • Do you eat back all of the calories from Garmin and still lose?
  • @PAV8888 Super helpful - thank you!
  • @PAV8888 Ha, no worries! Thanks again for the feedback. I read on diet breaks and am actually contemplating that next week. It’s been 4 weeks at 1350 and next week is my birthday so thinking of going to maintenance for that week and then going back to a deficit. Might be a little early for a break but I’m ready for it…
  • I sure hope not, also.
  • I'm using Happy Scale right now so I've got that covered. I'm definitely losing on 1350, but am also hungry a lot and have a really hard time fitting in a glass of wine or a beer which I very much miss. I'm patient, would rather lose slower so long as I'm still trending downward. I'll up my calories and see what happens,…
  • @RoxieDawn - Thanks for the reply. I entered 31% (it was 33.6% according to a DEXA scan back in January, but I've lost 8-ish pounds since then so I guestimated). I chose to use the T, L, S calculator since I'm using his program.
  • @cwolfman13 @PAV8888 - Thanks for the reply. Yes, both are set to a 20% deficit and I picked the same activity level (one is 4-6 hours exercise the other is 3-5 but both are the "moderate" selection). The only difference is Scooby asks for height and age and the the other one doesn't. ETA: The Thinner, Leaner, Stronger…
  • @quiksylver296 @Francl27 @cwolfman13 I apologize, I should have said in my post that I'm not using the MFP calculator. I'm using the calculator from the Thinner, Leaner, Stronger program (https://www.muscleforlife.com/macronutrient-calculator/). That is the one I compared with Scooby and both are TDEE. One is giving me…
