I really do love seeing these photos and thinking, "Wow! There really ARE a lot of others in the same boat."

You might try Meetup.org. It's a site where you can find people who like to do things you like to do in your area. They often have walking/running/fitness groups, sometimes for women, men, mixed, by age, etc. It might be a good resource for you. Good luck!

So true! It is easy to have one bad day and think that it is a total failure of the effort. It's not. It's one bad day. But, when something is hard, just that can be the "incentive" to give up. It takes real strength to move beyond that.

I think so, yes. Maybe not strictly each day, but I think I will need to for accountability.

New clothes. But, not too many. The rush of feeling more comfortable in fun clothes helps to motivate me to stay on track.
-
I tell myself that one day does not have to ruin the overall plan. I tell myself that this is for the long haul and that I won't be perfect - that some days will be hard. I tell myself that I have a chance to re-focus every day. Most important? I tell myself that I am worth it to keep trying.

Fantastic!!! Way to go on maintenance!

Nicely done!

Great job! Love your smile!

Amazing job....well done!

Go to the Check In tab in the dark blue menu board.

You might lose weight on SlimFast, but if you don't learn how to eat within calorie range, it will almost inevitably be a temporary loss.

Greek yogurt, a hard boiled egg, a reasonable and measured amount of nuts, popcorn, clementines.

You have got this. Be kind to yourself - we truly see ourselves in the harshest light.

I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Is there a friend you can go with? If not, are there personalized training sessions offered at one of the local gyms? Perhaps doing a workout or two with a pro showing you how to effectively work the equipment will build confidence? I have been there, thinking everyone was judging me…

Way to go!

First, I am sorry you are going through this. It is hard when your partner doesn't outwardly support positive goals you have set for yourself. I really hope it gets easier. If reaching your fitness goals is something you really want, I encourage you to find your voice and tell your husband why this is important to…

Welcome back!

Well, it sounds like you lost a whole load of weight when that asshat left you. I hope your new life is much, much lighter without that negativity in it!

My go-to for a high protein snack is a hard boiled egg - it really holds off cravings for me.

I am on the road a lot in the fall (like, weeks at time) and often in the spring. I generally travel to the same territories and will pick my hotels based on quality of gyms. I will also try to find local gyms that give free or low-cost guest passes. I also have restaurant staples that are go-tos for my calorie plan. The…

Keep at it with consistent effort, and, in the meantime? Spanx.

You can't spot reduce (damn you, triceps). Period. I do suggest building strength training in - if nothing else, it is empowering. When you can feel those muscles? Instant motivation.
-
I am sorry you are feeling so down. You are here, though, and you are trying to focus on turning it around. You CAN do this. It may have gotten out of control, but you have the power to make change.

I'm scratching 45 and, honestly? While I have some weight to lose, I feel better than I ever have? I may have been "thinner" in my 20s, but I am so much more focused on health and strength than ever that I feel like I LOOK better. Even more important? I have the wisdom to know that looks matter less than confidence. When I…

So sorry for your injury. I hope you find relief soon.

I guess I will be the different opinion. I think some days it is easier to focus than others. I am generally pretty goal-oriented and can stick to my plans and goals, but other days it is hard because of stress, or emotions. My only advice is to look at each day as an opportunity for victory. Celebrate those days when you…

I am 6' and 200 currently and aside from riding boots or flip-flops I only wear heels. I have all types of heels and I have never had a problem. I am not overly-focused on shoes, but I love them. When my weight fluctuates, I can wear awesome shoes and change up my style, even if my clothes stay neutral.

6' here. Hated the height as a teen, love it as an adult. Aiming for 175. At 200 now. I find that, being tall? Most underestimate how much I weigh.

I have not enjoyed the Halo Top and similar frozen treats. They don't have the same mouth-feel and sense of satisfaction. I can be very good about portion control, so I prefer a reasonable (and tracked) amount of a full-force ice cream.
