I'm around 128 lbs, 5'6 and I usually wear XS/S tops, S/M bottoms, not sure about US sizes cause I don't live there, according to my google search it might be anything from 4 to 8.

Age: 24 Height: 167.5 cm (5'6") Total Weight lost: 18,6 kg (41 lbs) Time it took to lose: ~2.5 years total (the last 4 kgs was 1 year...) How long in maintenance: this is my first month :) Maintenance weight range: 57-59 kg (125-130 lbs) Average weight recorded from 2018 (12months): 59.4 kg (131 lbs) Average weight…

I can't say anything about the low carb part, but you should use a food scale to weigh all those stuff you eat, cause especially with calorie dense foods (fats) you can easily underestimate your intake. Cups and spoons are not accurate at all. If you don't eat in a calorie deficit it doesn't matter wether you eat low carb…

Eating the same thing 3 times a day + otherwise the protein powder/other products they want to sell you. Doesn't seem sustainable to me. And it's probably much more expensive than a normal diet with the same macros.

I think I had to lose about 20-25 lbs to fit in a one size smaller pair of jeans. I'm only 2 sizes down after reaching my goal weight (I lost 40 lbs total), and I think I could never fit in smaller pants because my hip bones are so incredibly wide, I can clearly see them when naked, so there is no chance that I can lose…

Try Yoga with Adriene on YouTube, she has amazing beginner friendly videos :)

So I just joined the maintaining group, cause I think I'm okay with my weight now, we will see how it goes... :) Age: 24 Height: 167.5 cm (5'6") Total Weight lost: 18,6 kg (41 lbs) Time it took to lose: ~2.5 years total (the last 4 kgs was 1 year...) How long in maintenance: this is my first month :) Maintenance weight…

If you feel like you have more energy prior to eating, you can do your routine at that time. I think it doesn't really matter when you do it if you stick to it. Personally I have a very low energy level in the morning and all I can do without eating is yoga and maybe 20 minutes of walking if I have to leave from home…

I think for some people exercising can be enough if they gained their weight really slowly, so they barely ate above their maintenance prior to exercising. I was one of these people (I had to lose only about 20 lbs however I was overweight since I was a child, so I really ate close to my maintenance), and starting to…

Losing 1 pound/month at your stats is just perfect. You shouldn't lose much faster if you want to keep your muscle mass. However if you are not happy with your fat/muscle ratio, you should consider doing strength training as well, so even at a bit higher weight you would look much thinner than you feel now.

I'm a biologist, so I know all this stuff. That means I can eat anything, right? ;) :D

I couldn't find the actual study but this seems interesting as well: https://www.escardio.org/The-ESC/Press-Office/Press-releases/Low-carbohydrate-diets-are-unsafe-and-should-be-avoided Edit: Found the slides presented on the congress though:…

Depends on how many servings I want. For 4 servings I would go for 1kg.

So how do we know they didn't underestimate their carb intake as well?

"The highest risk of mortality was observed in participants with the lowest carbohydrate consumption, in both unadjusted and adjusted models." This is interesting.. So is it better to eat high carb than low carb? The participants' mean BMI was in the overweight range (around 27-28) however their mean energy intake was 1600…

I think it's because of your slim waist and legs. Most people imagine overweight people with a huge belly or big thighs, and you don't have those. You look good indeed, but a healthy BMI is more important than what others say or see in my opinion. Good luck on your journey! :)

Tuna or smoked salmon and veggies

Awww, thank you so much! Good luck on your journey! :)

Did you hear of those diets that say "eat only x food 5 times a day and you will lose weight in 1 week"? These are usually very low calorie foods and it's unlikely you could eat so much that you'd eat more than you burn in a day. Is it healthy to to follow these? No. Is it sustainable for a lifetime? No. Will you stay…

Smoked salmon, tuna, hard boiled or scrambled eggs, cheese + veggies! Whenever I eat carb heavy foods for breakfast I'm very hungry 1-2 hours later, so I try to save those carbs for my other meals...

Celery root has similar texture and lower calorie.

Be careful with "one tablespoon" of peanut butter or "12 almonds" cause their actual weight in grams can be very different in some cases. It's much more accurate to log their actual weight since they are very calorie dense foods (it's a very common mistake to underestimate how much you eat of these). Get a food scale, it…

It's always shocking to me that only a half of a cupcake like this has the same calories as a very filling breakfast... :(

When I eat early (like 6-7 am) I can't stop eating all day... When my breakfast is at 11am or later I don't have cravings at all. So this might not work for everyone... ;)

I have a question here. If someone had "fast metabolism" wouldn't it mean that they digest food faster and their cells take up the nutrients very efficiently, then if it's not used they store the extra energy as fat ? While those who had "slow meatbolism" should have food in their stomach longer, digest it slower, so the…
