  • Same! I didnt see the point of you feeling the need to write me a full essay of a reply nor offer me suggestions!....
  • Thanks all! Yeah I understand what people are saying about following a programme but I am following one. I think because my main goal is to lose fat but also getting back into working out is important to me I’m not overly fussed on progression! I just want to enjoy doing it and at the moment I really am 😀 which is positive…
  • I already have a lower body routine.
  • Found it! Thanks
  • Also how do you set it so its a weekly view as opposed to a daily view? X
  • Yes I always weigh my food 👍🏻 Even a few slices of cucumber or my salad cream etc! I’m really good at logging and weighing when I’m focused! However I want to be focused everyday...not 3/4 days, eat a biscuit haha then feel guilty and I end up off track for the remainder of the week as I mentioned above ☹️ I am getting…
  • Thanks both for your replies. I've changed to Lightly Active and its increased my calorie goal to 1480 which does feel better already. When you say have I considered looking at calories over the week -what do you mean? xx
  • @tinkerbellang83 Thanks for responding. My fitbit is synced to MFP and Mon - Fri I do stick to the 1260 and don't eat back my exercise calories, however, come the weekend this is where my issues lie hence why I want to do this properly this time round and not feel the need to over eat at the weekend. I also normally drank…
  • This is new to me...I never knew that you should subtract fiber from your carbs amount...So if say a food has 30g carbs and 10g fiber....would the carbs be 20g?
  • I'm doing this but the new version where you are allowed 800 calories on your Fast Days as opposed to the old 500! Have you read his new book? I'm sticking to the 800 calories 2-3 days a week and my normal MFP calorie goal on the other days, however, I do allow extra for wine at the weekend but overall I'm still reducing…
  • Ah yeah I see what you mean! So if I set my activity level at lightly active because of my steps per day then I shouldnt be eating the “extra” calories that fitbit gives because my “lightly active” setting is taking into account the steps I do - is that right?! Xx
  • Thanks everyone! I’ll stick with the 1580 calorie goal but if needed am I allowed to eat back those walking calories my fitbit gives me and also the calories I get back from working out?
  • I did say I had a fitbit 😁 Yesterday I did just under 12k steps and my “extra” calories synced from fitbit to MFP was 513.
  • Thanks All So I've amended my settings - see below. - Lightly Active - Lose 1lb per week gives me a goal of 1520 - Active - Lose 1lb per week gives me 1810 Shall I go with the Lightly Active option?
  • I cant remember what I put to lose, I dont think it was 2lb but I can check. Shall I maybe reset it to lose 1lb or something?
  • No, I try and stick to the 1290....I put in the settings that I was sedentary as despite doing those steps I do have desk job and I thought that was the rule. I have a fitbit which of course syncs any "extra" calories to MFP but I always feel bad if I use them...Sometimes I wonder if this is why I go off track ALL the…
  • Thanks snowflake....I have tried pre-logging food but I didn't really enjoy it but most days I do know what I'm having and will stick to it...(if that makes sense)...I walk a lot everyday as I walk to and from work so easily get around 12,000 steps a day....My calorie goal as set by MFP is 1290 I think!
  • Thanks for your input
  • Thanks for your replies...No I'm not fairly new :-) I have been a gym member since 2014 and regularly do classes like this, however, about 4 weeks ago I cancelled my gym membership and decided to do home workouts and I just wondered if I could do the workout I am currently doing more than the recommended 3x a week if I…
  • Thanks for replying, however, I didnt a tually say I don’t do upper body! I just wanted an opinion on splitting up a lower body routine! I’ve done full body routines, I’m not new to them but a lower/upper works better for me and I much prefer it.
  • Eggs, cheese and tomatoes! We have our own holiday home which we go to every weekend/school holidays etc whenever we go shopping I always ensure I have cheese, eggs and tomatoes on the list!
  • I think I just get bored to be honest....My classes for the past 4 years have ranged from GRIT, Insanity, Kettlebells, Bodypump, Spinning, Legs, Bums & Tums, Fatburn Classes (hiit or whatever they call it these days), Yoga, Bodycombat, Circuits...Then the machines such as running, stairmaster, elliptical, rower ....Then I…
  • Thanks everyone! I do feel better for eating more definitely. I'm currently 12st and would like to lost about 24lbs so in theory I don't actually have a tonne to lose but I'm fed up of being hungry ALL the time, feeling bad ALL the time and feeling guilty ALL the time. I really enjoy my ham salad baps and boiled eggs after…
  • Thanks for replying! Just what I needed to hear, I've spent so long trying to stick to 1200, working out everyday, then feeling guilty if I've eaten a few extra, feeling guilty for eating bread, rice etc that even after two gym classes I'll resort to soup because I feel that bad! These past two weeks have been splendid,…
  • Mine had been doing this all morning until I just unlinked my Fitbit from MFP and re-linked again....It worked!
  • This is sooooo true, I love my wine and will always save calories for it, however, as soon as I've drunk my last glass I then go on the hunt for food and can quickly consume anything from 250 calories to 1000 calories within minutes (depending on what I eat)....and before I know it I've exceeded my calorie goal.
  • This is the calorie goal MFP gives me, I think I opted to lose 1.5lb a week or something. Should I maybe change it to lose 1lb per week? Or if I work out my TDEE do I just take 25% off that figure and work from the calories left?
  • My calorie goal is 1200, I have tried the odd day of calorie cycling as like some people I tend to eat more at the weekends so its nice to have that little extra but at the moment I don't even get past a few days of sticking to my 1200 and in comes that voice again to which I then say "Oh its OK, I'll start again next…
  • I was thinking of maybe trying an actual food diary where I write it down and maybe set myself some small daily goals such as 1. stay within calorie limit 2. Ask myself do I really need it? 3. If I feel that urge drink some water or have a black coffee etc etc.... I feel like I need something that will break this cycle I…
  • Its just so disheartening isn't it. I don't even know why I do it, I think that frustrates me the most is the not knowing why! If I felt low in mood or stressed at that moment in time when I do it then I could understand but most of the time I feel quite content and I'm in an even better mood because I went to the gym…
