  • Don't beat yourself up, and plan for tomorrow to be your reset. You had a slip-up day... no need to make it a slip-up week. You got this!
  • Please return to your regular eating for a few days to see if that resolves the issue. The purpose of keto is not to be ill or throwing up, and there are some people for whom this isn't the "right" way of eating. Your overall health is more important than eating keto! If you stop keto and are still ill, then it the timing…
  • I find that I'm not hungry nearly as often as I used to be, which is nice.
  • I did homemade tuna rolls and homemade gazpacho (blended in an avocado to make it creamy and add healthy fat).
  • Yesterday morning I kissed my husband, and he was like "babe, be sure to brush your teeth a bit extra today." I already had (though I could feel my breath wasn't great, even after)!!! I find it's worse when I don't hydrate enough the day prior, so I was sure to drink extra water/tea. Having a big glass of water at bedtime…
  • Yesterday my only cheats were having more wine than one "should" have when low carb, and a cup of mixed berries topped with homemade whipped cream that someone brought. I wasn't even tempted to touch the chips and crackers!
  • September is off to a good start! 170 yesterday, 168.5 this mornng! 9.5 pounds down total.
  • Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts! I've taken to logging my workouts, but setting calories burned to 5 so it doesn't affect my macros (MFP won't save workouts with 0 calories burned, so had to go with a real number). If I go a little over my regular calories those days, I don't worry.
  • Yes! I do love a good IPA. I've had only one in the almost five weeks I've been on keto, and that was because it was a craft one I hadn't tried before. Sometimes you go for it, adjust rest of carb intake as needed, and enjoy. It didn't seem to have a negative impact on my ketosis, likely because I was careful with the rest…
  • I thought I would miss rice more, but what I do sometimes miss is really good fresh bread. A couple times a month my husband would pick up some from a great local bakery and we would enjoy it with olive oil & balsamic vinegar, or a homemade pesto.
  • I hear you! I'm eating some right now, topped with sour cream and homemade salsa. We probably go through 2-3 dozen a week.
  • Egg dishes are my easy go-to. Buy lots of things you can add to them, such as cheese, spinach, tomatoes, onions, avocado, etc.
  • I was confused by that too, and ended up averaging our the calories among three or four and adjusting the protein/fat/carb macros from there. I used Perfect Keto, Ketogains, and KetoDiet Buddy for counts; Ketogains was the lowest for calories offered. So far so good... eight pounds down (my body is a slower loser, but it's…

  • Goal is to continue eating within macros and calorie goal, log, and keep losing (8lbs down, which is 20% to goal). I have a two week visit to Michigan to visit my in-laws for almost two weeks mid-month, and I'm hoping I can keep the carbs low (they aren't the healthiest eaters, but usually have meats available).
  • Doh... 170.5 for CW, as of this morning. That's what I get for responding in threads before my morning tea!
  • Anything to help keep me accountable. September will be hard since we are taking a two week trip to visit my in-laws in Michigan, so I will have less direct control over what is served at the dinner table, and I guarantee there won't be a bunch of keto-friendly meals. Eating out all the time would be easier! SW: July 2018…
  • Riced cauliflower is nice when on sale, so you're only paying like a dollar more than for a cauliflower head you then have to take home and prep. If you find buying some of these kinds of basic ingredients helps you keep on track, then go for it. As for processed stuff, just read labels carefully to ensure there aren't…
  • Keep experimenting with spices in your deviled egg mixtures! I own a small spice blend company, and have found using blends such as creole, ranch, taco, and curry make fantastic deviled eggs, especially at parties (use a low or no salt blend for best results, and add your own to taste). It's also creamier with using Greek…
  • I've been told that the urine sticks are great in the beginning to help you sort of monitor whether you are in ketosis, but are not exact. They're cheap on Amazon, so I ordered some to help me sort of figure out how things and different foods affect my ketosis state, but understand there are much better tests out there.
  • Greetings! Day 7 of keto, and down four pounds (which is likely mostly water weight, but I'll take my successes relating to weight loss where I can grab them). Today I made my first keto dessert, which was a hit, though I'll be tweaking it a bit for next time (sort of a strawberry cheesecake pudding with no sweeteners, but…
