B) What tree are they growing on? Must plant that tree! B)

I do water aerobics and increase speed as I go along.

I certainly would not pay some gym person to tell me what's good for me. Stick to MFP - that's all you need; no more, no less.

Listen to your brain than. :)

Are you "hungry" or "thirsty"? First I make myself a good cuppa and wait a few minutes - usually my body just needs some liquid.
-
Use food processor: fresh herbs, whatever is available. capers, pickled: onions, cucumber, sweet chili peppers, mustard, touch of garlic, switch on machine, top up with vinegar / flavoured / herbed etc. Keep in a jar in the fridge. Sometimes I add anchovies or sesame seeds or toasted sunflower seeds, nuts - whatever you…

For that "little hunger" in the afternoon I prefer a bowl of yoghurt with fresh fruit during summer months and a bowl of home made vegetable broth during winter months. Both are very much "at home" dishes, when out and about a boiled egg or a few slices of grilled chicken are easily packed.

First thing in the morning and I see your inspiring story. Thank you, this is a great start to my day! Putting on my shoes to go for a walk - one step, one meal, one day at a time.

In order to give me a better idea, I did some theoretical calculations and my daily milk consumption (about a cup per day, for tea / coffee): full cream - about 155 calories, fat free about 110 calories. Difference in a year is over 2 kg weight difference! Usually I use low fat, just because of the better flavour.

Not new here - on the way of losing about 75 - 80 kg, about 170 pounds. This is OUR YEAR, we will support each other, take it day by day, meal by meal. Let's just stick to MFP and pick up good advise from all those supportive members. Happy New Year to all of you.

Buy a good quality pair of walking shoes which gives your ankles decent support. Do a check - up with your GP, great if he can do some blood tests. If your GP is happy with your basic health, start walking - slowly. Try to walk around your block or to the next park / beach, just enjoy nature and a little moving about. Try…

Why oh why were we not told a million years ago that eggs are so terribly bad for us - and by extension - anything which comes out of an egg such as bird - like creatures, crocodiles, turtles, snails and what - have you - must be avoided at all cost? Mankind would be so much better without any kind and form of eggs! :)

A winding road up or down a mountain :D

Too much garlic?

Those comments above sound so familiar! On top of it - I had to have bread, bread, bread (and whatever I could put onto and into it...) - all those carbs made me feel sleepy and tired. Thanks to MFP and all those supporting members I now know that it is called "trigger food" and "food stacking". So even I learned…
-
Through MFP I have learned what "trigger foods" means (in my case loaves and loaves of bread) and what "food stacking" is all about - I must have been a champion of sorts in that field. Initially just walking a short distance with 170 kg / 375 pounds on my back was a painful chore - now, 635 days later I love my walks in…

Same way of thinking here. I never was a great breakfast eater and due to work commitments my first meal was usually around 11 a.m. In order to lose weight, I also tried over the years everything from 3 main meals with 4 snacks in between per day to one meal a day. Since I joined MFP 635 days ago I was able to see my daily…

Initially I started with 170 kg / 375 pounds on my back and couldn't walk that far. I had a medical check - up and a blood test done, joined MFP and bought a good quality pair of shoes which gave my feet / ankles maximum support. Eventually I managed to walk around the block which took me half an hour. Today, 635 days…

I always wash fruit and vegetables before eating them... :) When I watch many of the food suppliers who deliver supermarkets / food stalls, then I wonder how "clean" the food is. And don't let me start on all that rubbish plastic packaging!

We are allowed to donate blood every 6 weeks - a max of 8 times a year. I have donated blood for the last 50 years and never felt a difference - even at my top weight of 170 kg / 375 pounds.

Just give it 2 to 3 months - by Easter most of them are gone, only to return early next year...

Steamed ox tongue in a creamy caper sauce and later Stollen.

Great discussion point and comments, thank you. At my heaviest I was 170 kg / 375 pounds. The last time I lost nearly 100 pounds I fell into the trap of listening to everyone out there: doctors, dietitians, "people who know", the "why don't you" specialists. I also didn't realize (and no - one told me either) that with…

I still have a wardrobe full of different sized outfits and slowly I can wear them again. I only bought myself a pair of jeans some 3 months ago, about 6 sizes or so smaller. Tried them on last week - still can't close them, especially not the zipper - but for me a proper goal and objective to work towards which I should…

Great news! First thing in the morning and I see / read your inspirational story. You are amazing! Not sure, but I might have to lose a similar amount of weight - so far 48 kg, just over 100 pounds gone.
-
MFP offers me exactly that and so much more. There are also so many supportive and knowledgeable members out there. Very happy to be able to use MFP every single day.

Our previous GP grow old (as we all do) and his attitude was more in the line of: "you are not going to change, just take some more tablets". It took us years to realize that maybe another GP with a different outlook might just be what we need. So eventually (and we felt very guilty) we made the change - and never looked…

I am actually rather looking forward to the time when I will reach maintenance and eat according to that. I don't think I have ever done so, therefore this will be an entirely new experience - eating what my body needs to live properly and healthily, not what my brain wants!
-
Never mind that personal trainer and his x - ray vision. How do you feel? Are you happy and content? Relaxed and a better person inside and out? If so, your family / work colleagues have noticed (or not) and will comment accordingly. A trainer is here to make money off you to support his own life style - obviously he will…

Last festive season's exercise and calorie meals eaten were rather decent during December and into January. So I have pulled them out of the records and now I can compare them how I am doing this year. Not trying to achieve or better last year's info, just a gentle reminder that I am still trying to lose weight or at least…
