So many little factors are at play influencing your higher than average TDEE at rest. Thank you again for your detailed response!

Thank you for your detailed response Ann! You must have a higher than average RMR and a fidgety-NEATy way of living. 😊

What is your daily activity level apart from exercise?
-
I find your post very inspiring. So you are maintaining @ 121-125 eating 1700-1800 NET being sedentary most of the day and eat back calories you burn through purposeful exercise? Can you describe your definition of sedentary?
-
Absolutely helps! Thank you for your reply! :)

@ Phirrgus I am so glad you linked to this calculator. I just recently came across it and was wondering if it's accurate. Have you tested the numbers it gives? If so, do you find them to be close at calculating TDEE?

Wow! I am speechless! 👏Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post! Definitely will be processing what you wrote! Blessings to you fellow pilgrim!

Thank you PAV for your reply. It's been about three months since I've entered maintenance. BMI maintenance range 19.3-20. I lost 50+ lbs. slowly over the course of 4+ years using several unsustainable methods. Only the last couple of lbs. we're lost by counting calories. I haven't figured out what my TDEE is. I thought my…

In your experience, how long does it take for the hormones to regulate again?

I see my post received a couple of "woos". I apologise if I offended anyone. I was trying to be helpful.

I don't think you need to hit a X number of calories every day...you are not recovering from anorexia. Your organs are not at risk. You unintentionally/or even intentionally underate and now you need to eat more until your hunger normalizes and your energy levels get better. It sounds to me like you are listening to your…

Look up research done by Anne B. Loucks on energy availability in athletes. Very informative and helpful read.

@Maxematics Your post has expressed what I could have written. I am 37, very small-framed, 5'5 1/2" at this point 117-120 lbs. In the past 5+ years I lost ~50ish lbs. Last year I got to 112. Hunger was through the roof no matter what(high satiety foods) I ate. I frequently experienced hyperphagia. I think there are so many…

I can relate. My appetite increases significantly after a couple of days of 200-300 cals under my maintenance calories. Good for you for carrying on with tracking when going over your goal! Observe, modify and move on. You are doing great!

Baguette, buttered or mayo-ed/mustard-ed with salami and mozzarella cheese.

You have inspired and helped me beyond measure. I am forever grateful.

Thank you for sharing your journey with us! You are beautiful! Your picture captures your zest and joy for life! This is gold.^

PAV and heybales, it worked! I set my activity to sedentary and the adjustment was only 11 calories from 8 p.m. until this morning. So I glad you both chimed in and explained this to me. 😊
-
So helpful PAV! Thank you for taking the time to explain this concept! I think setting it to sedentary will work best for me because I like to see smaller adjustments the next day.
-
So thankful for your knowledge on this topic and willingness to share it!
-
I might change it to sedentary if that's the case. Somedays my step count is lower and as you say the adjustment surprises me in the morning. Do you think it's a good move to do that?
-
Thank you heybales! So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter what activity level I select the adjustment will be the same in the end? Maybe I didn't give it enough time to test it out. In the past when I selected sedentary the adjustment was smaller for me.
-
Are you truly sedentary? The reason why I'm asking is because I did that in the past as well. Then I learned that MFP uses NEAT to estimate my daily caloric needs. I am on my feet most of the day. On an average day, my sitting time is at meals, driving somewhere, coffee date with a friend which is about once a week. I…

Sorry, posted by mistake. The app is not letting me to delete.

What a loving and wise advice Ann! I wish when I was in weighloss mode I participated on this forum to receive advice like yours and PAV's. I learned it the haaaard way through my own experience...still am learning. You both have so much wisdom on this topic. I would be honored to have an auntie like you! 😊

This^. Thank you for sharing your journey so eloquently. I have a lot in common with you. Except I started my journey to sane maintenance at the beginning of this year. When I choose to eat around maintenance my hunger becomes less of an emergency. Like you I use IE combined with CC. This approach has been liberating me…

I am sorry you are struggling. Hang in there. Take it one day at a time. I want to share something that has been helping me. Don't restrict your calories too much. Eat at maintenance for a few weeks. Don't restrict starchy carbs. They will help your leptin levels to come back up. Also, play around with fat intake. I need…

Heybales! I've read numerous posts by you in regards to Fitbit....I learned so many good nuggets of wisdom. You have inspired me to check the length of my stride. Thank you! Do you know if there is a difference in accuracy in Fitbits that are ment to be worn on your wrist as opposed to the clip on ones? I am looking into…
