  • Morning 7 mile loop with 7 x 3:30 min pick ups, 90s recovery. Effort felt like an 8-9 but actual pace was very meh. Ran EZ in the pm last night at kiddos soccer practice, but thinking the gusty/rainy conditions made it tougher that I thought? With less than 12h between runs, I felt every mile today, pushed through but ugh!
  • Solid 8 miles on the treadmill because 20F with a brisk breeze in the dark is a no-go. Glad it’s Friday cause I also forgot my breakfast/lunch and was forced into the cold to get a plain bagel (the horror! My office is very anti-carb at the moment). I think, no, I’m sure there was some drooling in the office next to…
  • A little over 7 miles easy recovery run on my usual figure 8 “loop”. Absolutely perfect running weather, mid 40s, slightly overcast, no breeze and was treated to a gorgeous sunrise! A good start to the day.
  • Normal 7-miler route but with 7x3:30 min push intervals (roughly 1/2 mile). Beauty of a morning for a run! Happy Friday!
  • Boss’ birthday today with all the fixing (cake, etc.) Calorie budgeted my lunch to “afford” a small slice! It was delicious and I’ve stayed well within my daily goal.
  • Reminds me of the time I actually was pregnant, right around that in-between time at 5 mo. I had a male colleague wish me congratulations, but then added, “I was so glad to hear you were pregnant, I thought you had just let yourself go.” Remains to this day one of the strangest comments I’ve ever received. Anyway, OP, I…
  • Lovely 7.5 miles this morning, perfect weather at 35F, no breeze & got to watch the sunrise. Also randomly ended up catching up to a guy running about 25m ahead of me, we got to chatting. I had forgotten how enjoyable a run can be with other folks! Time to get back running with my group again.
  • Yes! I use this technique/gait alteration all the time, but especially on long runs (15-20milers) and/or going up long inclines. With each foot strike, I press slightly harder down on my heel to engage my glutes and hamstrings. It seems to alleviate the stress on fatigued quad muscles. My husband and I call it "butt-mode"!…
  • 7.3 miles on the treadmill due to pouring rain, with 2 x 2 mile tempo and 1/2 mile recovery in between.
  • About 7.25 miles running, treadmill workout (because its pitch black, icy and foggy out at 6 am), but good nonetheless, included 2 super sets for about 4.5 miles of quality. Nice and EZ cool down, hot shower, good coffee and my office is deserted! Happy Friday!
  • Cold but beautiful morning for a 7+ mile run outside, with 7X3 min intervals at a hard pace, 90s slow jog recovery in between.
  • After a night off completely yesterday, hit cardio/strength circuits (x7) hard this morning for 65 mins total. Needed the day off and felt great this morning! Ugh, my tiny local gym was crowded at 6 am, the all the usual suspects plus a lot of new faces. Can't wait for it to begin getting a little brighter out in the AM so…
  • 45 min tabata class at 5:30 am (oof!) followed by EZ 4 mile run.
