Like the poster above, eating more calories than my body burned. That is the simplicity of it. Getting to the reason why is a bit more complicated. For me, I went from a job where I was on my feet and busy all day to a job behind a desk. Decreased overall TDEE, plus increased time to be able to eat/snack/think about food…

Welcome back! Yes, you can eat a Keto diet and use this app. Just set up your macros as you see fit. A couple things: 1) Eating a Keto diet alone will not cause weight loss - you need to be in a consistent calorie deficit in order to lose weight. 2) Your weight fluctuates continuously, as you will always have various…

I will tell a story of a day where I tried something similar. A couple months ago I did my first crossfit competition. It contained 4 intense workouts starting at 9 am and ending around 6 pm. I ate a light breakfast of a banana and a can of pre-workout. I then completed the first 2 events. I attempted eating a meal at…

I do most of mine at the gym, but look forward to the day where I have a home gym. Running I do outside in the spring, summer, and fall (which, where I live is only about 6 months out of the year).

pepperoni and bacon are my favorite toppings. Wood fired pizza is the best too.

I would like to reemphasize talking with your doctor about doing any sort of calorie restriction. While I am by no means an expert, 1300 does sound awfully low for being pregnant. You have all the time in the world once the baby is born to lose weight. Right now the most important thing is to make sure you are getting the…

STARTING WEIGHT AND DATE WITH MFP (MY FITNESS PAL): 167 lbs April 2018 CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT: 146.2 lbs Jan. 7: 146.2 lbs Jan. 14: 148.8 lbs (alcohol and cake this weekend with not enough water) Jan. 21: 148.0 lbs Feeling extra fluffy lately. Not sure what combination is water weight and what is fat but either way I…

Another crossfit lover here. I used to hate snatches too since the hand placement feels awkward to me and it has always been my weakest move. However, I have learned to appreciate it and will usually choose that if it is an option. Usually, our least favorite moves are our weaknesses and what we should be working on most.…

How to lose body fat: 1) Be in a consistent calorie deficit. That's it. That's all you need.

While looking for a picture of thin mints, I found this and now I really want to try it. But I also would love to finish the sleeve of thin mints sitting in my desk drawer.

This flex Friday is glutes for me. What are you all flexing this friday?

Beef jerky, popcorn

At 5'4" and 140 lbs, I am guessing you are overestimating your body fat percentage. I second posting a picture, as there are people here who are fairly good at estimating body fat percentage. That said, for women it is suggested to cut if you have a body fat percentage over 25%. So my suggestion based on the information…

Aren't those called hipsters?

Original starting weight - 167 (April 2018) February starting weight - 149 lbs February goal - 144 lbs Ultimate goal - 140 lbs 1st - 149 lbs 8th - 147.4 lbs 15th - 149.8 lbs 22nd - 28th - Total loss for February: +0.8 lbs Ugh. I'm dealing with a constant internal struggle between wanting to lose a few more (vanity) pounds…

Awesome job taking the first step! The only insight I have is that it gets easier each time. The best way to get over the awkwardness is just to keep going.

If in the morning, then either black coffee or pre-workout (currently using C4). If in the afternoon, then it is a couple hours after lunch and I eat dinner afterwards. Sometimes I will do coffee with a scoop of protein about an hour or 2 before or pre-workout if I am feeling tired. I don't do well eating anything more…

Definitely stretch it out. Drink plenty of water. As far as whether or not you should take a rest day, that is up to you. For me, I usually still go (my gym schedule is 4 days a week). If it is just your legs that are sore, you could do an upper body day too. Rest days are important and beneficial to muscle repair.

I've always heard it/said it as "Shy-town". Chip-town sounds pretty good though. Does it come with a side of queso?

Winter and all this snow.

What do you mean? All that's left in the barrel is acid.

I get that too. In my normal schedule I have 4 gym days. If I get more, awesome. If I get less, I find it frustrating. But sometimes, you just have to be flexible. This week I am shifting one of my days around due to all the snow we got yesterday. It wasn't worth risking my life driving on slippery roads to make it to the…

I've always preferred Samsung. Seems like the last few years Apple is on a downhill slide.

That's because I'm pretty sure they coat those in crack. I could also easily down a box by myself. So good.

I have been adding a scoop to a cup of coffee lately. Tastes like I added creamer. I haven't really had any issues with lumps. I always add the scoop in to an already poured cup of coffee then stir.

I have a Samsung Gear Sport. I have noticed that it is not accurate with step counts (meaning it doesn't count steps) if I am doing anything where my hands are in a steady position (pushing a stroller, shopping cart, etc.). I have never used a fitbit so I cannot say anything to the accuracy of that. Edited for…

Below shows the importance of nutrition priorities. Most important is your calories. Eat on average more calories than your burn in a day to gain weight, less calories on overage per day to lose weight. Next, is macros. Once you have calories figured out, then you can figure out what macro balance works best for you. The…
