  • Not an expert here, but aren't you okay to infuse with various melons, veggies, herbs, ginger, apples, pears, etc?
  • 30 year scotch
  • A couple of things that jump out as missing are legs and triceps. If you dont have the ability to do squats, leg extensions/curls, etc., look into lunges with or without extra dumbbell weight. There are also several tricep dumbbell exercises out there if your machines dont offer you anything. In terms of routines, everyone…
  • "Fine" is a funny word. What are you trying to accomplish?
  • It's gonna cost you half your daily fat, but a really awesome, easy thing to do is take a bunch of veggies like potatoes, onions, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, asparagus, etc., chop them into bite-size pieces, heat 2tbsp of olive oil in a big pan/skillet on medium-high heat, and throw in the veggies. Lightly…
  • This is legit Whole book is legit. Title at bottom.
  • FWIW, just tried this. Seems legit. Easier to walk now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By5ztNxwgYY
  • Went out for a few short miles on the bike and everything went fine. I left my middle straps very loose, and tried to keep my toes straight. Only time I felt any pain was when I wasnt paying attention, and let my toes flex up on a downstroke. I think using a wrap will help with that. So far so good!
  • It's circumstantial. I've got one of those jobs where I'm nearly constantly traveling somewhere. My best chance to actually see my Dr. is a Sat. appointment, and they didn't have any open. It's not severe pain, and I'm pretty sure the solution is gonna be taking it easy on the extensors. If it gets worse or goes more than…
  • "I have a tapeworm"... then just look at them. That should stop it.
  • Been using a Garmin VivoSport, and pretty happy with it. I dig that it's water-proof. I turn off all the stupid phone app notifications, set the vibrate to low, and the battery lasts like a week. It can automatically detect when you're doing certain exercises, and will auto-create activity enries in the Connect app. Mowu…
  • Thanks. I'd love to be swimming, but I don't have my own pool, and I avoid public pools. As far as cycling, pressure during rotation is my concern too. The pain happens when my toes bend upward towards foot, as when walking on an incline. When I'm clipped-in to the bike, my toes are usually pointed straight out and…
  • I did not have negative adjustments enabled. We'll see how that makes things look. Thanks.
  • Just had something like this happen today. The Garmin is showing a couple thousand more calories than I should have earned. Drilling into why, I'm showing a bunch of "intense exercise" that I didn't actually do. Looking at the heart rate graph, I spent most of the day bouncing between 120-150 beats per minute, and the…
  • I've done keto several times over the years. My advice is as follows: You can't halfass this. If you don't stay under 30 grams of carbs per day, you'll be burning glucose, but have no glucose. Your body will resort to burning muscle mass for fuel (including your heart), and you'll feel like crap while accomplishing very…
  • I dont turn 40 till October. Can I hang, or should I come back?
  • Same challenge here. Busy with meetings all day, and taking care of kids all evening. I'm thinking I need to invest in a treadmill for easy access.
  • Of course a food scale is a great idea. I'd also suggest trying to look at the whole thing differently. You shouldn't be "on a diet", as this suggests you're making a temporary change to accomplish a goal, and then you'll get to be "not on a diet". I've struggled with the same yo yo problems throughout my life, and what…
  • Does this represent an increased level of exercise for you? If so, it's possible your muscles are training up and probably growing a bit. This will cause an increase in muscle weight, which is of course a good thing, even if it makes the scale look unfriendly. Pounds are not always the best indicator. How do your clothes…
  • There is about an 80 calorie difference between what the tracker tells me I've burned vs what MFP thinks I've burned. Perhaps this is why. Looks like MFP may be taking it into account, but the Garmin Connect app seems to just add total burned directly to my MFP daily number.
  • Interesting. Will try to validate that is happening. Don't want to misinform anyone.
  • This is what was recommended to me.. set MFP to the lowest activity setting and rely on the Garmin tracker to add activity calories. Seems to be correct, because my MFP maintenance calories have decreased after setting the activity lower, and the tracker is adding calories like it always did. Reading some of these other…
  • I'm a big black bean fan. One of the great things about black beans and rice is the fact that it can be made so many different ways. Here's one of my favorite variations: http://www.onegreenplanet.org/vegan-recipe/cilantro-lime-and-black-bean-rice/
  • Same thing. I have bajillions of amazing, easy vegan recipes. What kind of food do you like?
  • Here is my special oatmeal recipe. Have not yet found anyone who doesn't like it. Ingredients 1 cup Quaker Rolled Oats (the value-brand oats aren't as good) 2 cups regular Silk soy milk (or dairy milk if you're into bovine mammary secretions) 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp apple pie spice 1/2 tsp ginger powder (secret…
