Hi Everyone. I think this is my fourth month on the challenge and find it so useful for keeping heading in the right direction and appreciate Lisas leadership and support here. In 2017 I hit my highest ever weight. I'm heading into the April challenge with a starting weight of 171lbs (over 100lbs down) and determined to…

Add me if you like. I've done this journey and am still going. There's some great articles on here about the myth of will power (what you really need is discipline) and about obesity being a chronic disease that we just get into remission and have to keep working at to keep it that way. These have really helped my mindset…

Weigh in day Last week 173.5 This week 171.0 Good week apart from a slip up with some cookies last night (I just can’t have things like that in the house).
-
Mini challenge Logged yes Under calories yes Exercise 90 mins hard taekwondo Feeling good about this week, it’s all in my control.

Weigh in day: Last week 175.3 This week 173.5 Not sure how I lost this week as didn’t go to the gym at all or log (though did only have prepped meals). Stress? This is a lucky result. Survived my on call week but desperate for my day off (Wednesday). I have an online shopping delivery booked for then to meal prep for the…

I went to a reproduction education session and they said that lifestyle (stopping smoking, stopping alcohol, healthy eating and getting to a healthy body weight) can increase sperm numbers by up to 30%

I like PhD diet whey as they aren’t as sweet as a lot (all I can taste is the excessive sweetener in some)

Hi Mae, thank you for your very honest post. I’m a bit earlier in the process but identify with that fear of failure. I’m at the year mark with about 14 lbs left to drop. It’s definitely work to keep it going now and I do feel hungry. I hit my initial target and “eased up” a bit and maintained for a month. It’s scary how…

Weigh in day. 175.3. Heading in the right direction, slowly again. Back exercising after a little hiatus. Not logging again yet but making good choices and eating (mostly) just what I’ve prepped. Lousy, awful, bad, bad day at work at the start of my on call week today - just want to tough it out do my best this week.
-
I’m a bit late weighing in. A bit off track. I’ve maintained at 176.6
-
Hi Everyone. I had a pretty good February, hit my first target at about 105lbs down. Aiming for another 14 or so then maintainence. I’ve started the serious looking at wedding dresses now!
-
Last week 176.8 This week 176.0 I made some poor choices this weekend. Feeling ill and usually tee total me went out drinking. Cue two days of feeling really rubbish and comfort eating. This is a huge part of why I generally don’t drink these days - I probably end up having 3000 extra, joyless calories when I do. Did…

I like the tips about doing longer runs to heal with 5k time. Any advice for mentally dealing with longer runs? Even with a good playlist I get bored. I like interval training for 20-30 mins but beyond that struggle to keep my head in the game. I don’t love running but I love seeing my times come down and really love how…

Hi luckycleo. No silly questions and welcome to mfp. I started off unable to run a minute and used interval training like couch to 5k. Your max heart rate can be calculated as 220-your age so yours would be 185. For cardio the recommendation is to spend most of your time up to about 85% of this. But...it’s important to…

I've got a protein shaker which was about £5. It's got a wire ball in that means when you shake it you get a smooth shake. I put the liquid in first then the powder and it works well.

Thanks Lisa. I’ve realised how much I want any children we have to grow up with healthy habits so we’re very much changing our lifestyles now. It’s such a learning curve but I can’t imagine being without exercise now.

I have to be pretty careful and things I don’t expect can catch me out like smoked salmon. Sugar, carbs, fat can all be a problem but I don’t find it’s predictable all the time eg. Egg salad (no mayo) caught me out but I managed a small cookie no issues. Have to be careful with textures too eg. Chicken - I have to chew…

Last week 179.8 This week 176.8 I really hit it hard this week, tracked everything and logged and worked out. I think this finally means I’m out of the obese category though different BMI calculators give me different results! I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday and really want to be able to weigh in and be below BMI…
-
Sorry I’m late weighing in. 179.8. Finally in those 170s. I need something like 4lbs off to finallly be out of the obese zone and I’m so ready to be there!
-
Weigh in day. 180.7. Maintained. Feeling pretty annoyed at myself. 5/7 deficit days. Bad weekend.
-
Weigh in day 180.7. I didn’t make it into the 170s this week. Not my best week. Have had reflux and indigestion a lot and one day with way too few calories and not feeling up the the gym followed by three not tracking and I’m fairly certain I went over as I was eating what I felt like rather than what I planned. Silver…

Weigh in day 181.8 Good week. Tracked most days the only bits I missed are where I forgot to weigh a couple of things. Another good week for exercise. After being so unfit for so long I’ve now reached a point where there’s a lot of firsts for me and a lot of personal bests. I got my mile run down to 11 minutes yesterday…

Weigh in day. 184lbs Got my 100lbs off! Getting back into the routine of logging, not 100 percent there yet. Struggling a bit with wanting to snack in the evenings. Amazing week for exercise - two 1.5hour taekwondo classes, 3x5k runs and a pretty intense yoga class.
-
Child pose in yoga used to be something I'd dread whilst everyone else raved about how it was the most relaxing part. With less boobs and tummy and being able to comfortable be in the pose its now my favourite part of the relaxtion bit of a session.

I was just about to write about Park Run too! It's such a great scheme, I find people really supportive. 18 months ago I could barely jog for a minute, got a personal best time today (still not speedy but like they say, you're only racing yourself).

Hi Nicole. Thanks so much for sharing this. Your experience and advice is much appreciated. I've got about 35lbs left to go and I think your advice about learning maintenance after that before considering anything else is really wise. I've never maintained before (always on an up or down roller-coaster) so I plan on…

Hi Chantelle. Stress and anxiety certainly helped me gain a lot of weight - it is hard to look after yourself when you feel like that. I’ve found high protein. High fibre, moderate fate, low carb works for me. I’ve found a routine which I like and use that as my basic frame work eg. High protein yogurt for breakfast,…

Today's weigh in 186.2kg. I think I was 186 last week so happy with that as I feel like I had a good Christmas without eating everything in sight. Did enjoy some cheese and wine though! New years 5k tomorrow. Feel so nervous!
-
Hi Nicole, can you point me in the direction of your threads about skin surgery - I can’t seem to find them. I think if I do have surgery it will have to be in one go, I just won’t be able to have time off work (maybe even for one surgery, let alone more).
-
Have added you. I have another 28-35lbs before I’m going to start trying on wedding dresses!
