  • Hey, congrats on the weight loss and ditching the meds. Food-wise, I just pretty much ate whatever I had around, at first, and didn't really count macros. I believe that your body is the best guide. Once it gets used to having only one shot at the table per day, it will eventually steer you towards foods that have a lot of…
  • One thing that stuck with me from the videos is that we do best by eating what is around us. Some people do fine on a restrictive diet. I don't, and I think that most don't. I believe that this causes people to overthink weight loss, and gives ammunition to the "95% of diets fail!" folks. I've found that cravings generally…
  • Food looks great! That reminds me, I should upload some food pics one of these days.
  • Hey, sorry for the late responses. Thanks for the positive comments. Latest weigh-in has me at 78 kg, or ~172 lbs. Still okay, but at a point where I need to keep a closer eye on it. Probably due to backsliding a little due to the holidays. On the other side of things, the size 32 jeans, the only ones I had that fit, are…
  • Same to you, my friend! O/T question: does your user name refer to Auburn University?
  • Hi, folks. Latest pre-Thanksgiving weigh-in has me at 78.65 kg, or ~169 lbs. Holding steady. For maintenance, I have no set schedule. For example, if I have an event, like a lunch with family or friends, I'll have TwoMAD. Otherwise, it's OMAD. Most important for me, though, is awareness of calorie consumption. I counted…
  • I've had success, but my goals were weight normalization (30 pounds lost) and a healthier relationship with food. I never tracked macros, or carbs specifically, just overall calories.
  • Nearly 11 pounds in one month! Well done!
  • Thank you! I appreciate it!
  • Another thing I noticed since starting IF/OMAD: My credit card bills have come way down. I hadn't realized how much I'd been spending on dining out. Now, I rarely go out to eat; I find it better to cook at home as I'm in control of the ingredients and can better track portion sizes/calories.
  • You know what's interesting? I'm under 170 lbs. for the first time since college, and people who are used to seeing me at 190-200+ lbs. haven't called me out on it yet. No "you look too thin" or "have you lost weight?" comments. I take that to mean that I've lost it the "right" way. I feel good, and I don't look gaunt or…
  • Wow, you've lost about 6 inches on your waist since the beginning. That's awesome!
  • I'm experimenting with intake and exercise, as I have a standing appointment with the physical therapist first thing each Monday morning. So, on Sunday I have TwoMad, which is my regular feed at ~11 am, and then, right before bedtime, a snack consisting of 200-300 kcal, with a good amount of carbs. The idea is to have…
  • Will do, and thanks! I'll be especially careful here, as I know how increased calories can lead to increased weight. I want off that carnival ride for good. BTW, I saw your latest YouTube video, and, while I appreciate how life, interests, and obligations change, I hope you don't cancel your channel. I get a lot of good…
  • You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and congrats on your success as well!
  • Latest weigh-in (last Tues.) was 76.15 kg, or ~168 lbs. Staying steady. I think I'll up the calories slightly while increasing physical activity. Oh, my pants fell down the other day. I only have one pair of size 32s that fit. The rest are size 34s that are now too big. While wearing one of the 34s, I had just arrived home…
  • @jadepearl I think you're doing well. Since I started IF/OMAD about six months ago, I've lost 14kg total. That works out to about 0.5kg per week average. That's a good steady rate, I think.
  • I'm liking seltzer water, too. I used to think it was boring, but not so much anymore.
  • I have a terrible diet cola habit that I'm trying to tame. I developed it to get through the workday. I'm embarrassed to say how many cans I used to pound down per day. I'm not sure if it's affected weight loss in my case, but I do know that those drinks really aren't that good for you, what with all the chemicals and…
  • Thanks! I hope all is going well with you.
  • Thanks! Best wishes to you both.
  • Today I found a forgotten pair of size 32 Wrangler jeans in the back of my closet. I hadn't worn them for at least a decade. In the meantime, I'd been wearing size 34 relaxed-fit Levi's. When I was heavier, the fit wasn't relaxed at all. Now, they will fall down if I'm not careful. Did the forgotten size 32 jeans fit? They…
  • Thanks. Sorry for the late response. Got sidetracked by a few things. Last weigh-in (last Tues.) has me at 76kg even, or 167.55 lbs. Still ok. Guess I'll keep on with switching between OMAD and TwoMAD, along with a weekly splurge, as situations dictate.
  • Thanks. Lately, I've split between TwoMAD, and OMAD on the days when I'd had a heavier meal and wasn't as hungry outside of it. I have another weigh-in scheduled for next Tues., so we'll see how that process has been holding up thus far.
  • Maybe the weight gain is mostly water, and you'll shed that quickly once you return to your normal eating patterns.
  • Latest weigh-in: 77 kg, or 170 lbs. Keeping steady. Fun Fact: Early 20th century baseball great Ty Cobb was a proponent of Intermittent Fasting, even though they probably didn't call it that back then. Although Cobb was disciplined about conditioning, he still developed a weight issue early in his career and took to…
  • Thanks again, and I'll definitely keep everyone posted.
  • Man, that's rough. I'm sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, and the others entrusted in your care. They're fortunate to have you. Good thing is, re.: weight, you have your system ingrained and won't allow yourself to stray too far off course. You know the consequences. Best wishes to you and your family.
  • Will they let you leave early if you work through your lunch hour?
