  • I lost 30lbs since last May (5’4”- start 167, maintenance at about 137). I never added additional exercise, however my job is physical involving standing, moving, walking, and lifting things almost all day long (surgical technologist). I’ve been maintaining since about November. I stopped logging MFP in March. I still…
  • 🙋🏻‍♀️ Totally me!! I have tried to eliminate sweets but that just makes me binge on it when I can’t take it anymore. I love ice cream so instead I have skinny cow sandwiches or something similar. Or just one hostess cupcake. (Prior to MFP I had huge bowls of ice cream!) I’ve lost >30lbs since May ‘18. I did allow…
  • I will be clean and sober 4 years this May. I actually had a true physical addiction and checked myself into detox (I also was severely underweight and malnourished). After that I went to therapy and gained about 60lbs. I went through some crazy sugar cravings at first, I’m talking bags of jolly ranchers! I wasn’t a big…
  • Thank you!!! I had an IUD since I started my weight loss journey. And before that on some form of birth control or another for the last 20 years. In September I took out my IUD and now experiencing my full cycle for the first time again. I am trying to be kind and patient while I learn how it affects my weight, food…
  • I really needed to hear this! Thank you! I’ve been on my journey since May and have been trying to be nice to myself for enjoying cookies and such at work. I am going to relax and worry about getting stricter again after the new year. 👏🏽❤️
  • VeSyncFit. The scale is Bluetooth to my phone and syncs directly to MFP. It really helps me see that weight loss is an overtime thing.
  • I’m 5’4” and 35 yo. I agree and think I’ll adjust to 0.5 lbs/week. I am in a healthy BMI. I actually didn’t have an exact weight goal. I’ve been too skinny before and hated it (110-120lbs). I guessed maybe 130lb but I’m actually pretty comfortable so I adjusted to about 135. Plan to stay in that area +/-5lbs.
  • Started in May at 167. Wasn’t really sure what I was doing at first but eventually set 1lb/week. In September I purposely went into maintenance (for my wedding). Started back in October again 1lb/week. Just the other day reset at current weight of 140 (138 today) and changed my goal to 135. MFP set me to 1340. (Sorry guess…
  • Ugh. Seriously. I am losing weight just fine and am happy. I literally can’t drink water constantly (work). I know that I love ice cream and pizza and refuse to give those up. (In fact I’m pescatarian, yet I don’t preach it to others—to each their own). Just recently I updated my goals and current weight. MFP set me at at…
  • Yep!! I felt it was the right place to start to create new normal of eating. Being more self aware. I want these changes to be for a lifetime. For me I know exercise has come and gone in my life depending on life’s circumstances. I also haven’t given up my favorites like ice cream, pizza, etc.
  • Once I discovered a “diet break” was a thing. I did some readings based on some of the recommendations here. I learned a lot. Easier said than done. But I have loosened up to allow some “cheat” meals. I’ve been trying to maintain about a 20lb weight loss (147lbs). So far I’ve been doing it. Just have to keep this weight…
  • Thank you!! I’ll read up on Diet Breaks. I guess I didn’t think of it that way. I was at 1640c and with maintenance MFP says 1900c. However, I just wasn’t hungry enough to eat that much last night. I wasn’t carb restricting so no worries there. Guess I’ll see if I can keep my scale somewhat the same. Thanks again!! The…
  • Welcome!! I know others swear by it but I do not weigh my food. I use measuring cups for some things. Some things I guesstimate. I do however log every single thing I eat (except spices). Once you get started it’s really no trouble. I’ve been loosing weight pretty steadily since I started. I guess if If I wasn’t loosing…
  • Right?! I feel silly for deleting things and then re-adding them later. Good tip!!
  • I drink Vega Sport in Chocolate or occasionally Mocha. Both I mix with water. However, I don’t have it every day. Depends on my protein, and sometimes I use it to avoid evening dessert cravings.
  • Haha! It’s the little things!
  • I use Vega Sport Protein
  • I found the Quorn ground crumble to give me terrible stomach aches. As in, I was be awake all night in excruciating pain. I didn’t need the restroom however. Maybe gas/bloating? I haven’t tried it since I figured out it was that.
  • Pescatarian here (fish only). Although I'd say we are more vegetarian then anything. My diary is public if you want to see any ideas. For instance, tonight we had Protein Pasta with veggies. Once I hit my goal weight and switch to maintenance, we will still be eating almost the same with slight differences, say more cheese.
  • I just hit 3 years sober on May 23rd. When I checked into detox I was skinny/fat at only 110lbs. I was drinking quite a bit by that point. (1/2 gal tequila every 3 days). After I quit I had a crazy sweet tooth which overtime has lessened but not gone away completely. Since quitting I have been gaining weight steadily until…
  • Thanks! I’ll just keep following my food diary and just be patient. I guess I was worried I was doing something wrong. It helps hearing some positive feedback
  • Vegetarian here (lacto-with very occasional ovo and sometimes pescatarian). Goal under 1500 but been averaging about 1100. End goal was about 35lbs down but I’m generally going for what feels good. Had been planning 1lb/week but down 2.4lb in first week.
