  • There are low carb beer options that you could work into your macros (Michelob Ultra I believe is about 2-3 carbs). From what I understand though, your body needs to process and deal with alcohol before it handles anything else, so when your burning alcohol your not burning fat. I think you can work a couple of beers in…
  • Not sure exactly what could be the cause. Sounds to me like maybe your not eating enough? I know if I am really hungry I get naucea, headache etc. Perhaps sup on some chicken broth it might settle your stomach. How long has this been going on though?
  • @jelleigh if you are feeling tired make sure you are getting your electrolytes and lots of water. I definetly feel low energy when my calories are too low, so make sure your not in too high of a deficit. Hope this helps :)
  • @NikkiJRM If it's been a full year it would be really cool to find out the total lbs lost in 1 year through this community. :)
  • This is my go to calculator. keto-calculator.ankerl.com It's the same one that the keto subreddit suggests so I'm assuming it's reliable. Set activity level to sedentary and a 20% deficit. Recalculate every 10 pounds or so.
  • @cbishop7777 great work! Nice steady loss each week.
  • Happy with my progress this month. Now into the 140s which is really exciting! AUGUST: Sunday 07/29: 157.6 Sunday 08/05: 154.8 (-2.8) Sunday 08/12: 154.2 (-0.6) Sunday 08/19: 152.6 (-1.6) Sunday 08/26: 149.2 (-3.4) TOTAL: -8.4
  • I personally have not had the same issue, but I've read about it and it's not uncommon. You're right to focus on the downward trend :) I would suggest double checking your macros, just to see If your calories are off. I use this calculator keto-calculator.ankerl.com set a 20% deficit and activity level to sedentary.
  • Sending you a friend request. I've been keto since the end of May and am down 25 lbs. This way of eating is really working for me. I have an open diary.
  • Lots of great suggestions here already. My g onto lately has been 1 square of lindt 90% dark chocolate and abought 15g of pecans with a bit of salt. It's so good. I also really like making sugar free jello. All you need is gelatin and some sugar free water flavouring. So easy, low calorie too. You can make a couple…
  • If you are looking to add some fibre, it might be worthwhile to try chia seeds. I add a tablespoon to my proten shake just about every morning and they are pretty much pure fibre.
  • @xDaniDragonflyx Curious. What's your regular net carb intake for you vs. Your low carb intake?
  • By the way, I love the idea of this discussion. Its important to stay inspired when it comes to food. Made a zuchini fritter yesterday with smoked chipotle sour cream. Was tasty but I think I'll add some extra veg next time for more flavour.
  • Some people do experience a keto rash. I haven't experienced it myself so I didnt look into the root cause. Maybe search the Keto subreddit and see if other people's reactions match yours. That said, you are in the first month so keep in mind you could be expelling toxins. Also, hormones are stored in fat, as your fat…
  • @beautifulchaos135 Who cares if it's water weight, it's still weight! Congrats on your loss This week. 👏👏
  • Zuchini, pesto, cream cheese, sundried tomatoes(sparingly) topped with a poached egg.
  • If you are struggling with protein, a protein shake for breakfast might be a good option. I use Lean fit which is really low carb. I think it's 1 or 2 net carbs per 32g scoop. Available at Costco (I'm in Canada though). I've also read that isopure is a good brand, tasty and low carb, but I've never tried it.
  • Whoops, posted here in error. Meant to type into the search bar lol
  • This might be a good resource for you. :) https://www.reddit.com/r/vegetarianketo
  • Good morning everyone, happy Sunday! July has been a good month. I've been pushing myself to get out of the house with friends and either go for swims or walks to keep active. The scale is moving, and I'm happy for that, but I'm noticing a lot of other non scale victories aswell. I've always had acne and it seems to really…
  • I calculate my macros using this site: https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com Here are my macros Carbs max 20 Protein min 60 max 98 Fat max 137 Carbs are a limit, protein is a goal. I don't worry about fat as I am typically well below my max.
  • Hey, just wanted to say that you should make sure you are getting your electrolytes in.... like A LOT of electolytes. I also know that not wanting to eat feeling. Days that I skip breakfast it is a lot worse so I suggest eating as regularly as you can and see if that helps with your appetite. I do low carb protein shakes…
  • I'm wondering where the carbs are coming from that your getting. Remember to calculate net carbs (carbs-fibre). Rule of thumb for acceptable vegetables is anything that grows above ground tends to be okay where as root veggie will typically have more carbs. Also, if some of your carbs are coming from dairy, like cream you…
  • Not sure if you have tried this one already, but here is the calculator I use https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com Set activity level to sedentary with 20% deficit You mentioned you've tanked on the carbs a couple of times and increased your carbs to keep it sustainable. Are you maybe kicking yourself out of ketosis by…

  • Hello everyone, I've been doing keep for about 7 weeks or so. Make sure you check out the keto page here on my fitness pal for resources and support. I've also found the keto sub reddit to be a wealth of information and inspiration. You can feel free to add me, I have an open food diary.
  • I would suggest reading the keto sub reddit. They have a pretty good FAQ. If you spend some time doing some research I think it will help you decide if keto is right for you.
