Good morning! It is a beautiful snow-covered day and at 22 days AF...I feel good. In fact, it is the best I have felt in years and years. I thought I would list a few things I am not missing: * Waking up on the couch at 3 AM exhausted, TV blasting * Showering every morning, feeling awful, with a pounding head saying,…

Today is day 20. Nothing big to report except it is much easier now.

It took a little longer than the last time I went AF, but I slept good and all night last night. No tossing and turning. Today is day 17 AF.

@seltzermint555 - I think you found the right place. Best wishes to your continued success! @laurenq1991 - I had to "urban dictionary" FOMO - I assume it is - Fear of Missing Out. Correct?

Depends. When I cook 80/20 ground beef on the grill, sooo much fat drips off I weigh after - after all - a 4 oz. burger will cook down to 2.5-2.7 oz....that's a lot of fat loss. Same with bacon, bratwursts, or breakfast sausage. Some foods lose nothing when cooked...like eggs. Good question - but I think you know how to do…

I went to a cocktail party last night. Everyone knew I had recently stopped drinking and the hosts had plenty of AF beverages for me - so considerate! The group is a lot of fun and my wife and I got invited to a LOT of different places because I could be sober-chauffeur haha.

I think you only have the hour to edit the post. I don’t believe you can delete the post entirely. You can delete all you wrote but you have to leave at least a period. I don’t believe you can delete other replies or even your MFP icon that shows you made the post

OP - Yes - there is a diet for that where you can eat anything. Just count calories and do all in moderation. You will have to probably quit eating out as much, and you will probably have to find some new items that are filling and not so calorie dense that you prepare at home, but I lost 75 pounds, while drinking the…

@Fitness327wk - Hit 'em straight!

Today is 2 weeks AF. It is also the 5th day of getting off my BP meds. BP meds have a half life of about 12 hours and take about 5 days to get completely out of your system. My BP meds were also a diuretic. Weight gain over the past 5 days from getting off of them is 6 pounds - all while still exercising and being under…

Game on....AF for the rest of February it is

@NormInv We all know the race to the goal is often not a straight line. You had a misstep 2 days ago - so what! You are on 2 days AF today! Winners recover and and get back on track. Two prior months AF tells me that you are a winner. I do better with goals as well. Let's pick a goal together. What do you suggest?

Had to switch from "maintain" to "weight loss" today. Weight climb from no BP meds is now +4 pounds. That'll be off shortly. Talked with my wife yesterday about the AF transformation. In dollars and cents, the money savings is going to be about $400 for the annual doctor visit and BP meds and probably close to $2,000/year…

It was odd yesterday evening to be at a Super Bowl party without an adult beverage in hand. But I noticed there were a few water/lemonade drinkers like myself. I never noticed before. But this morning I got the reward I was hoping for...10 AF later, I no longer need BP meds. I am 100% med free B) On the down side, I am no…

I thought I should move over to this post instead of the less alcohol post. Less alcohol? Who am I kidding. I need to be here in the AF thread. So - Hello. Today is day 9 AF. Last time I went AF (for 8 months) I managed to get off of my BP meds...I was 100% med free. Why the hell did I start drinking again???!!! Because I…

You all have been great - but I have come to realize that less alcohol is not going to cut it. I need to be AF. I am going to move over the the Sober Squad Thread. Best wishes to all of you!

* One week ago this morning I woke up after having too much to drink again and decided today was the day to quit drinking. * Last night was the first night I slept straight through the night without waking up every so often. * Last night when I went out for dinner and everyone ordered their drinks, I got a club soda with…

Today is 1 week AF... I noticed my skin feels better this morning. Googled it - yep - drinking affects that too.

Day 6 AF - Slept pretty good for the first time last night. Only woke maybe 3 or 4 times - no vivid dreams either. Felt refreshed this morning. The dull headaches are gone as well! Progress!
-
Day 4 today. The wacky, vivid dreams started happening last night, but sleep was still better than the first 2 nights. One dream had the female villain from Men in Black 2...creepy. As for missing not drinking bourbon in the evenings, it has not been as big of a deal as it could have been. I have a lot of varieties of soft…

Sleep for night #2 was still tough - there was a lot of tossing and turning - but it was still better than night #1

Made it through day/evening 2. Headed to bed and hoping to sleep most of tonight. FWIW - I have a weird craving for chocolate chip ice cream 😍

In high school I swam on a swimming team. I was the fastest swimmer on the team to never go to state...or the slowest state meet swimmer there ever was. I weighed 135 lbs. No skinny shaming because I was in the best shape of my life. 20 years later, at 250 lbs...I heard what you would have expected to hear. When I lost 75…

Hello all - My weakness is bourbon. I had quit about 2 years ago for about 6 months and even managed to get off of all meds - including BP meds. I felt great too! So good, that I thought I could ease back into drinking responsibly. Nope. I have about 2 weeks of BP meds left. Time to quit for good. If history is a guide, I…

OP - I own a business and pay for 100% of my employees health and dental insurance. ALSO - Smoking/vaping is legal and I get the point you are trying to make - BUT ...It is known that smokers, on average, take 2 or 3 more sick days per year than non-smokers. ...And smokers take "smoke breaks" while non-smokers are still…

This ^^^ The thing that drives me back outside ASAP - from spin class - is when the instructor does cycling up/downs. Never in my many many miles of cycling have I ever done repeated up/downs seconds apart. So when this happens in spin class, I go up, stay up, and sit down when the insanity is over.

I work out when time permits... Monday - Thursday (work days) I work out in the evenings. Friday after work belongs to my wife so it is always a gym rest day Weekends - morning, afternoon, or evenings - again when time permits Ultimately - I prefer a before-lunch workout, so late morning would be my vote

Awesome...that means more for me :-)
